    Love this

Fantastic!! I could watch it a million times over and it'd have the same effect!!
  2. They're both very tough asks, but I'd consider us a better chance against the Hawks considering our terrible record at AAMI.
  3. Agreed. But I think Adelaide will be just as challenging considering how good the Crows have been and our appalling record at AAMI.
  4. The atmosphere in the second half at the 'G yesterday was electric. We've all experienced hardship over the past 18 months, but we were finally rewarded for all the pain. It looked bleak at half-time, but full credit to us Melbourne fans for sticking around and supporting the boys. The noise we made in that last quarter was unbelievable - a very emotional experience for all involved. Yes, we're a small band of supporters, but we're loyal and deeply passionate about our team. Great effort everyone!! Stick by the club, and to the supporters who weren't at the game yesterday, flock to the 'G for our big home game against the Hawks in a few weeks time!!
  5. What a great performance by Aussie. Those celebrations are legendary. It's players like Aussie that football clubs dream of - talent, speed, flair, achieving goals the hard way. People will come to games just to watch this bloke - he's a marketer's dream What a great day for the MFC. Let's hope it can continue for Aussie and the rest of the boys.
  6. Kerr would never come to Melbourne. Davey needs to return to the forward pocket where he has been so damaging in the past. I don't know if he should be traded.
  7. Summary: Jamar has actually been quite good in recent weeks. Bartram, although his disposal has been disgraceful, works hard and runs the lines. Dunn needs to be given time to develop on a wing. Bailey needs to tell Miller that he will play him out of the square for the next six weeks, regardless of performance, to see if he can indeed play the position. Morton needs a run in the twos.
  8. Of course, it could only happen to Melbourne.
  9. Yes. I'm a believer that undisciplined acts lose games. Although the standard of umpiring today was questionable, Moloney's "soft" 50 was the turning point which led to six unanswered Carlton goals. Further, he really needs to use the ball more intelligently. But I think he has ability. What did we give up for him?? I think it was Pick 12 which Richmond used to get Danny Meyer. I guess we still won out of that deal, but he would want to improve considering the high pick we gave up for him.
  10. Some esteemed commentators on 3AW referred to our forward line players as one trick ponies, or words to that effect, a few weeks ago. Robbo, Neita and Newton can all lead, mark and kick goals, but what if things are not going their way?? You can't really throw them onto a wing or put them down back. They lack the versatility required in today's game. Look at guys such as Riewoldt, Pavlich and Brown who are capable of pushing up the ground and being really effective. They are high possession forwards. Our three key forwards would be lucky to average 12 possessions a game. What I'm saying is, sure it's OK when the ball is coming in clean but when the team is doing poorly there doesn't seem to be much they can do to assist. Hopefully, Matty Bate lines up for us this week because he is one forward who is capable of kicking a few goals, but can also go into the middle and get the footy. I think we've really missed him for that reason.
  11. Interesting point Nugget. I too get the feeling that things are starting to turn. Yes, I know it's one game but I think the players have had their wake up call and now realise what sort of effort they need to bring to the table each week. I still believe we have a list capable of making the eight - application and self-belief is where the problem lies.
  12. Please, enough with the Miller bashing. I've had a gutful as I'm sure most other people have. He's a real competitor who gives it his all and he was far from the worst on the weekend. Let's leave it at that. As a side not, where's Juice Newton??? Late withdrawal against Bulldogs, did not kick any goals or rate a mention in the Sandy game on Saturday (he was named but did he play??). I'd like to see him back ASAP.
  13. He's an underrated player and we could really use him in the team atm. He needs to come back soon so that he can prime himself for another stint on A Rocca!!
  14. I don't think the problem is our forward line. In the past, our forward line has always been touted as a major strength. There is still some pretty good scoring power there with Neitz and Robertson, the emergence of Newton and Bate, and the explosiveness of Davey (if he can find his form). Throw Miller in a CHF to straighten us up and provide a target through the corridor and I think we've got a pretty good forward line. The problem lies in delivery. Believe it or not we had 46 inside 50s on Sunday, only a few less than Hawthorn. But our delivery into the forward 50 was shocking. Experienced players like Bruce were kicking the ball over the heads of leading forwards - not good enough. Sure, we missed some easy set shots but I think this was indicative of the scoreboard pressure applyed by the Hawks as opposed to technical issues.
  15. How the hell could you predict whether we would have lost by less under Sheedy? I agree - stupid thread.
  16. I really do feel sorry for Brad Miller. I think he has been played out of position for more than half his career. He IS a CHF, and not a bad one when he is up and going. One of the main reasons we were so indirect yesterday is because we had no focal point through which to channel our attacks. Brad is a lead-up CHF who provides a strong target. I think it's time we all got off his back. For f@#% sake!!
  17. It's about time I had some fun: B: Whelan Carroll Dunn HB: Bartram Bell Rivers C: Morton Buckley Moloney HF: Sylvia Miller Robertson F: Davey Neitz Newton R: Johnson Jones McDonald I/C: McLean Jamar Wheatley Green OUT: Bruce, White, Yze, Garland, Petterd, Weetra IN: Jamar, Whelan, Dunn, Rivers, Bartram, Sylvia Assuming Bate is not ready.
  18. Robbo mentioned how the players need to believe in themselves - I think that is and will continue to be the main issue.
  19. Gee I like what I see with Cale. He's a tough bugger and he made a mockery of his older teammates yesterday. I bet he's glad he was drafted by Melbourne.
  20. I found White's performance to be disgraceful and I think he should be dropped this week. But I disagree about the Hawthorn ruckmen. They are both very underrated and are better than "second rate". I'd take them any day at Melbourne.
  21. I agree with you. Newton was a little disappointing yesterday. I'm a big fan of his but that contest in the middle made me cringe. But I thought he tried really hard which is more than what can be said of some of his older teammates. Don't worry, he'll be good for us.
  22. I don't know whether the chipping/switching of play was indicative of Hawthorn's relentless pressure (and our severe lack of confidence to go direct), or whether it is part of a game plan being implemented by DB. The reason I say this is because Port Adelaide rely heavily on switching the play and creating space for their midfielders to run into. The difference being that they do this with skill and polish and they understand what they are doing. Perhaps DB is trying to imitate the game plan of his former senior coach. But whatever he's doing it's not working.
  23. I hope DB blasts the players for this performance and makes a stand by dropping a cast of senior players. Daniher was soft when it came to dropping established players, but sometimes you have to make a statement that this soft [censored] attitude WILL NOT be tolerated. Reason for loss - Hawthorn were simply better than us Reason for margin of loss - Our non-existent defensive pressure The main culprits: Bruce, White and Yze - SENIOR PLAYERS!!! These players have to be dropped because it will send a message to our youngsters - "Wow, we'd better pull our finger out." I felt sorry for guys like McLean, Jonesy, Weetra, Morton and Neita who ALWAYS give their all. Something better be done.
