  1. I think he has already shown himself to be one of our greatest players of all time even if he retired now. He will get back to his scintillating best in 26. Started to show it towards the end of season.
  2. I will always remember the GF goal he kicked over 55 metres off one step. (the second of the 'BANGS')Such coolness and power with 4 Bulldogs closing from all points of the compass. Also that beautiful long kick to Ben Brown for a goal which increased our lead to 5 goals in the GF. Hope we keep him. He gives his all. King may bring out the very best in him.
  3. Yes, that guy was thinking what we were all thinking, 'Can we now go and win a long awaited flag?' I was not really convinced until ANB kicked a goal to put us 7 goals up in last quarter. The moment had arrived. A finals campaign never to be repeated I would reckon. Also these thrashings were achieved on a neutral playing field. No chance for opposition supporters to claim that we had 'home ground advantage'.
  4. Yes, the Bont looked up at the scoreboard just before three quarter time and his face had 'what is the use ' on it. Great player, wish he was in red and blue.
  5. A wonderful football moment for me. I have always considered myself so lucky to have been able to witness 7 Demons premierships but they were all way way back in time. It was a long wait just like Saints supporters are experiencing right now. Sadly, all those premierships were mainly just memories with little footage of the games, Now I can at last watch in full colour the 2021 triumph. I did have strong feelings for those born after 1964 who had suffered 57 years in the football wilderness with not one flag, I did feel their joy of having success at last. About 15 years ago I purchased some Melbourne demons number plates which read 57 MFC. I guess it was an omen! Go Demons!!!!
  6. True, eyes were on the ball, but technically it WAS front on. I always taught my charges to turn their back towards opponent when they were attempting to mark or spoil. No free against if you have your back facing opponent. But since it was a Collingwood player involved I was absolutely delighted with the umpires call! 😆
  7. Bruce? Did Cameron take off his track pants and take part as a playing coach?😆
  8. Great news. The thug bites the dust.! Well done Lions, in another post I suggested you play like you did against the Dockers in Perth recently and you did.
  9. If you want a classy sports coverage have a look at SBS Channel 31 coverage of the World Athletics Championships. It beats what the AFL finals are offering at the moment. An excellent professional production with many thrilling events.
  10. Can't believe I want Geelong to win. Guess I despise Hawthorn even more. Please Brisbane beat either. Play like you did against the Dockers in Perth a few weeks ago. You looked like you had hit your premiership straps that evening.
  11. North Melbourne.
  12. Loved ANB. He doesn't deserve to have to endure three straight set exits in a row. Imagine how he is feeling right now. Come back to us any time you wish Alex. We would welcome you back with open arms and gratitude.
  13. I was very pleased that Geoff McGivern, premiership player and Bluey winner, was given life membership. For some reason he was not named in the 150 Heroes book published some time ago. He definitely should have been named.
  14. Not Everyone! We had at least six who deserved better than that.
  15. Just how has Oliver screwed the club? Plays his guts out week after week. 4 Blueys not good enough?
  16. Hibbo was very fast running off to the crowd with the Premiership Cup!
  17. Have no doubt, Bluey Adams was footy fast, very fast. Never ever saw him chased down from behind. He just jetted away every time. Ralph Lane on the wing also had a ton of pace and played at the same time as Bluey. Athol Webb also was a very quick leading forward. Acted as a decoy for big Bob Johnson but still managed to boot goals.
  18. He only played 4 senior games this season. Easily qualified.
  19. Me too as an ex Frankston boy who watched on Saturdays the Frankston Bombers playing in the MPFL competition . Happy for either to win but I think Casey will have the edge. Go Demons/ Dolphins!
  20. After today's brilliant tactical moves....DAISY for coach!!!!
  21. Thanks Ghostwriter. Love your contributions to this forum. So informative.
  22. Oliver? Why do you say that? He has shown his real self lately and has always put in for his team.
  23. Not working with the Demon girls now?
  24. 'Couldn't beat teams'? We won the first 10 games the season after our premiership year and finished the season on top of the ladder. Only bad luck and injuries cost us a second flag. Just saying.
  25. Like you praha, I was upbeat after this game. Our future coach must have been able to see what our boys can do and will be confident of a great 2026. Sadly, we have a lot of sad sacks on this forum who can only see the bad and not the good. A bit of positivity would be great. Go Demons 2026.
