  1. 15 pages on one delisting.

Not to mention another 5 pages in the Good Bruce Bad Bruce thread and several other mentions elsewhere.

I'm getting a bit sick of Bruce.

Can't we ban him for a while like we did when Shane Woewoding left the building?

  2. Excitable & passionate about my footy club.

It took the 0.05 seconds in the google search to realise this wasn't well designed...not much to consider hey.

The design is very much in the eye of the beholder. Some will like it, some will not. I personally like it and, let's face it, the issue got you involved in discussion on an issue involving our club so it's serving a purpose on one level.

If I didn't like the design, I'd forget about it and move on to some other aspect of the club.

  3. Today's HUN has the following Round 1 match-ups (I'm going to assume they're correct to draw my conclusion):

    St Kilda-Geelong

    Adelaide-Hawthorn

    Carlton-Richmond

    West Coast-North Melbourne

    Conclusion: Round 1: Collingwood-Melbourne.

I don't think so because we're slated to play them in round 3.

What we do know is that with Adelaide and West Coast playing at home, Port Adelaide and Fremantle will open with away games. I wouldn't mind having a crack at either of those at the G in round 1.

  4. I cant believe he was apparently so close to senior selection near the end of the year.

Did nothing much for Casey when I was watching. I must have missed it. If so, fair enough.

I hadnt seen him play before injury and realise many posters have seen great things maybe 3/4 years ago.

I realise Im on my Pat Malone here but I honestly dont know why this kid has so many people thrilled.

You're right. All he showed at Casey were flashes and little else but ... he was severely hampered in that recovery from his injury is a long and slow process, especially in view of the fact that he was playing with a metal pin in his foot. That pin has now been removed and he's sure to be a different proposition now that he has the capacity to train full on and unimpeded and with a full pre season behind him.

  5. I seriously doubt that to be true. Judd was kicking massive bags of goals (13 or 14 in 1 match) for Caulfield Grammar playing as a forward and getting leather poisoning in the midfield.

I hope he is a gun but I don't hold high hopes for his 1sy year in terms of output. Same goes for Trengove or whoever else we select.

The more I read about these young kids and their dedication to reaching the top, the more I realise how stupid it would be to try to draft a half-crippled, self indulgent and arrogant individual like Luke Ball who won't even give us the time of day.

I look forward to seeing the likes of Scully and Trengove at the club and, if the choice at 18 is between Ball and a young gun, I would rather draft a Bastinac or a Vardy than a bloke who doesn't want to be at the club and won't be around for long anyway. If we get a good, young kid, he'll be around long after Ball breaks down.

  6. Two years ago Scott Simpson was a fairly highly rated 196cm KPF for the Dandenong Stingrays. Drafted by Geelong at # 44 he has just been delisted after failing to get any AFL action.

I don't know what's happened to him in the interim.

Anyone know and would he be worth a look?

  7. According to the Herald Sun today, Rivers missed because of a "hip".

I just wish the club was a bit more forthcoming to supporters about injuries to players. I'm not talking about these last minute things but it took a long time for us to be informed as to why our best defender missed out. As for Juice Newton and his injury ... pffft!

  8. What a pathetic thread and what a bunch of losers you guys are.

It's three rounds into the season and, yes, we've been ordinary for most of them but we have played the big three and the players are adapting to a new coach and a new ball game. We're starting to show improvement and if we can get the right combination going and the players click together this week, you never know what could happen.

I'm not suggesting a flag but it's dangerous these days to rely on early draft picks alone to develop your club.

  9. With all the doom and gloom surrounding the club at the moment it's important we get of to a good start by beating the Hawks in Round 1.

The problem is that a number of our players have had very little match practice as they try to get right for the first game that matter. Cameron Bruce will return from a knee injury to play for Sandringham in a VFL practice match this Sunday and according to the Herald Sun, if he "gets through unscathed, he will be selected for the Demons' Round 1 clash with Hawthorn."

The report says club has also applied for AFL permission to play Clint Bartram, James Frawley, Cale Morton, Lynden Dunn, Chris Johnson, Jared Rivers and Paul Wheatley in Sunday's game against Williamstown.

    No Wheels?

  10. Add Rivers, Bartram, Wheatley, Dunn and Grimes to those who have 0% chance of playing round 1.

Dunn played about half a game at Sandy yesterday so he would have to be above 50% if he pulled up OK afterwards. Wheatley and Grimes are probably close to 0% but Rivers and Bartram have two weeks to prove themseleves but admittedly less than 50% ATM. Bruce would be the same.
