  1. It's a special training session at Casey Fields on Super Bowl Sunday (New Orleans Time) with Steven May's touchdown throw to Judd McVee setting the scene for a shocker of a game for Patrick Mahomes and Taylor Swift's plus one and a big day for Philadelphia's Aussie offensive tackle Jordan Mailata. 6. It’s also good for when you’re in the dentist’s chair and all the more difficult at the start of the season when new numbers have been allocated. Like, who’s #12 is a bit issue when the dentist’s scraping around the molars.
  7. One of the players considered very likely - a GCS NGA 2025 AFL Draft | Race to #1: Zeke Uwland
  8. The players are on a break from training but some travelled to the red centre for a community visit. Demons head North | Alice Springs community visits Jack Viney, Jake Lever and Kate Hore are there for the trip but the visit must be a very special one for NGA rookie Ricky Mentha Jnr, an Alice Springs local – the first Demon Next Generation Academy product to be signed from the region and the first from the area signed to an AFL list in over a decade.

  10. Steven May joins Kozzie Pickett in the Indigenous All Stars squad to play Fremantle and he’s pretty chuffed ~ 'Pretty surreal that I get that opportunity again': Veteran's surprise 12-year return to Indigenous All Stars squad
  11. It seems that a number of clubs, including Melbourne, had today off. It would appear that preseason resumes on Wednesday.
  12. I’m not sure about NGAs (I haven’t been able to find any lists of NGAs) but we have Ryder Brown and Marley Davey coming up as father/son players although they aren’t draft eligible until at least 2027. On Marcus Prasad, at last report he’s 169cm but slight in build but considered freakish. I hope he grows in both height and weight by the time he gets to draft age. Scouting Notes: 2024 Victorian Under 16 trials #1 Marcus Prasad (Dandenong Stingrays) Small Forward | 169cm | 23/03/2008 Skipper in game two, Prasad was one of the many crafty smalls on show throughout the day. His best play was a terrific finish on goal during the second quarter, where he squeezed the ball just inside the post with a low spearing kick. Prasad’s creativity was evident and he took a high mark in term four to add to his moments.

  14. Like finding a needle in a haystack if the owner of the property is a corporation that happens to hold the title under a deed of trust of which he is one of a class of beneficiaries.
  15. Dwayne is bullish ~ Why Russell is bullish that Melbourne can return to the top eight in 2025
  16. One of the early favourites for #1 pick and most likely out of our reach despite the past family connection 2025 AFL Draft | Race to #1: Willem Duursma
  17. Prasad is for next year though and he’s very small.
  18. Apologies - you’re right. I’d been reading another Rookie Me Central article on future players referenced earlier that mentioned him. The inability to get direct access to Tairon Ah-Mu is annoying but the rules are the rules and, unless changed in the near future (unlikely), we’re going to have to live with it. Moreover, it might have boiled down to a choice at draft time between Ah-Mu and White so it’s not such a significant problem if we think the latter’s our best choice anyway.
  19. The Vic Metro and Vic Country Summer Hub squads have been nominated and are profiled here by Rookie Me Central. PROFILED | 2025 Vic Metro Summer Hub Squad PROFILED | 2025 Vic Country Summer Hub Squad Interest here for Melbourne with a father/son prospect and some NGAs.

  22. It’s Chinese New Year and they call it the Year of the Snake, so what better place to celebrate than a training session at Casey Fields, home of the local Demons and slithering snakes? We’re looking forward to some awesome reports from Demonlanders as the Demons ramp up training as the opening game of the season approaches … Tell us what you want to want to see from Melbourne on the last day of January 2025. WARNING: Watching closed training sessions in the long grass outside the main oval at Casey Fields can be harmful to your health, especially if bitten by one of the species of poisonous local snakes.

  24. I went to the club’s team photo shoot this afternoon and, as I was approaching AAMI Park, I spotted Andy Moniz-Wakefield on a run. He didn’t look at all inconvenienced and later took his place in the team photo. Apologies to Luker Kentfield but I didn’t think to look for him in the team shoot but it happened so quickly 🙄. Hopefully, someone else like @Ghostwriter might have noticed 😀.
