  1. Can you predict how the GWS midfield will line up on Saturday, Redleg?
  2. Northern Blues VFL.
  3. Thanks to Demon fans Matt who wrote the song and Josh who sent this in, here's today's season opener of the Coodabeens and they too are into the Gawn Dog - the song's at around about the 22 minute mark but it's worth listening to the whole programme - http://mpegmedia.abc.net.au/local/coodabeens/201603/r1544332_23098758.mp3
  4. You're right there RTG. It's early days. He has the height to play KPF, is a strong mark and is mobile. He just needs to grow into an AFL player's body and get experience at this level - perhaps even a whole season. I suspect however, that like Oscar McDonald last year, he will be eased into it with a couple of games late in the season. It was a much better effort than last week when the players downfield didn't look like hitting a target. And it was also his first game of any sort for about 10 months.
  5. Dunn and Brayshaw straight in next week. Lumumba, a maybe. It will be interesting to see if AVB gets up as he wasn't risked today. Casey were better served by some of their list today. Angus Scott was terrific with three first half goals, James Munro was strong in defence and Bryce Rutherford looks much improved. There is a possibility that the Casey/Melbourne Intraclub practice match next week will be played on Good Friday - TBA. As I commence the long drive home from Cranbourne East, I hope that if this happens, they play the game at Goschs Paddock.
  6. Siren. Casey by 1 point - 8.8.56 to 8.7.55 Disposals Terlich 21 White 18 Brayshaw 17 Goals Scott 3 Michie 2 Brayshaw Stretch Weideman Quite incredible because Port's first score for the second half came well into the final quarter. Three quick goals at the end nearly saw them home.
  7. Another one to Port and it's a 1 point game.
  8. Followed by another to Port and it's game on. Just 7 points in it with Casey flagging into the wind.
  9. Port goals after a Casey turnover to keep them in the game at the 19 minute mark.
  10. Viv Michie accepts a pass from Lynden Dunn and slots the goal. First score of the final quarter, 10 minutes in - gives Casey a 22 point lead.
  11. Not really but that's partly due to the swirly conditions and partly due to the personnel out there. There have been a number of scrambly patches of play. Port has only scored once all day to the end to which Casey is now kicking. A scoreboard adjustment gives the Scorps two more points to stretch the lead to 16 points.
  12. Q3 Casey Scorpions 7.6.48 to Port Melbourne 5.4.34. Stats Disposals Stretch 15 Terlich 14 Brayshaw 13 Goals Scott 3 Brayshaw Michie Stretch Weideman They will need to work hard in the final quarter as the Borough comes home with the breeze.
  13. Angus Brayshaw misses from a tight angle 45m out.
  14. Lead is out to 13 points after the Weed marks and goals!!! He's marking with confidence now and could easily have had three goals. A shot at goal early in the game was a poster.
  15. Michie goals and Casey leads by 6 points.
  16. Stretch goals for the Scorpions - scores level.
  17. HT and Port now hold a 6 point lead - 5.4.34 to 4.4.28 Halftime Stats Disposals Terlich 10 Stretch 9 Lumumba 8 Brayshaw 7 Goals Scott 3 Brayshaw
  18. Goal for goal with Scott kicking his third. Port answer to go up by a point.
  19. Port with the first major of Q2.
  20. QT Stats Disposals Terlich 6 Brayshaw Stretch 5 Goals Scott 2 Brayshaw

  22. Casey DL fights back but lose by 11 points.
  23. Q3 Port 11.11.77 to Casey. 6.3.39
