  1. The one missing from your list is pressure without the ball. Done it well last 2 weeks. The other watch from me is no Oliver impact. Does he have a positive, negative or neutral impact in the midfield.
  2. I’d say the club has given this info to him voluntarily - not exactly earth shattering 2 hours before it’s official. Also allows the the club to control the narrative.
  3. JUH says thanks Oliver. Watch the vultures feed on this.
  4. What a stupid article. What is the point of further examining a trade that didn’t eventuate. Maybe it’s another Geelong attempt to create some disharmony within the club and pick up a bargain in Oliver.
  5. This was my initial reaction and still somewhat aligned to it. However, this is their workplace and i think everybody has a right to chose their workplace. The media have been far too aggressive in the past few years especially post covid and you have the personalities such as Morris, McClure, Corners, Barret who are disrespectful and at times stoop to gutter trash levels of reporting. As a society we have to recognize the impact that social media is having of people, footy players are no different. The AFL should absolutely be looking at the behavior of some of these journos and their employers and asking for a please explain.
  6. Kentfield looks like he is about to rip Langdon to pieces in Pic #34.
  7. Amazing design. Really impressive.
  8. I'd be super annoyed if Butters makes his way to any of the other Vic clubs especially the Pies. We should just go after Hinkley as an assistant now for next year, then snap up Butters as a FA end of next year.
  9. i wonder if he got dropped?
  10. Don’t they do rising star interviews on 360 anymore? was waiting for it tonight.
  11. The media and AFL have seriously regressed not just with Dillon but also under the [censored] that was Gillion. The pursuit of profit and commercial prosperity is starting to compromise the quality of the product that is being sold. I can’t see Dillon lasting too long and I hope they bring in someone that is purely profit focused.
  12. We would need to turn the club around to make it appealing to him.
  13. Fritta is a cherry on top player. Right now we need work horses that are willing to put in effort. If he isn’t capable or willing then we have to make the hard call and let him go. The game has evolved and players that don’t have a defensive output will get exposed even in the forward line. I do hope he turns it around, because I get great pleasure watching him play. Would Hawks be willing to give us a first rounder for him? Gunston and Breust are in their mid 30s and he’d slot in nicely there.
  14. But I think that works in Chins favour. He lets him go and doesn’t drive him into the ground. Whereas Curtis technique didn’t allow for him to take any mitigating action so I’d argue he is more liable.
  15. There is intense media focus on the Eagles. Just in time for our game… There was ann internal, player lead intervention with coaches and footy staff yesterday about the mounting displeasure of their performance this year. I’d expect a massive response from the eagles, but as is with these things, if we can withstand the intial pressure and put ourselves in front, I can see them falling apart pretty quickly. If, however we give them a sniff, then we are in big trouble.
  16. I remember this - was a great tackle. He let him go and still got some. Again it’s a footy act that is judged on the outcome. Annoying how everyone is coming to Curtis’s defence.
  17. If we were to change to Port Melb as prospective site, the delay would be more than 12 months.
  18. Does anyone have the deets/footage on Chandlers suspension re the run down tackle from a few years back. It seems the footy industry has collectively forgotten about this all together.
  19. Today Looks pretty lean to me. If you look close enough I reckon his heads looks too small for his body.
  20. Did Jake lever skip past the 4-6 undetected?
  21. Goody did allude to the fact that he will still need more time at the start of the season. If what others have said is true that you don’t gain fitness in season, then why don’t we put him through more in season - I hate to say it- loading to increase his fitness base? Why wait until the next pre season ? Surely it’s not impossible to do this ? The season is just about shot anyway so I don’t know we don’t switch up Clarrys program to put this [censored] well and truly behind him.
  22. It’s a training facility first and will be a very good one. Having public transport access is not a priority even if vfl and aflw games are played there. Caulfield gives us everything we need but will be in the middle of a racetrack.
  23. This is a good selection. The guy has the right credentials from a business perspective and given our most pressing issues are off field I’d expect him to get it done. Coincidently I just watched the Hawks YouTube video on their new home base in Dingley and It is world class. We have to throw everything we can at Caulfield it will go a long way in attracting talent to our club in the years to come.
  24. Wasnt he flying this pre-season though? Surely the hammy tear in '23 isnt limiting his ability to explode from contest. Perhaps its also confidence and willpower. maybe its all between the ears? He was non existent in the first Half, then came out like a man possessed in Q3 before tailing off again.
  25. He is 100% trying to push a Geelong narrative in the media. I love the way Kingy shut it down albeit on the basis that Clarry is unlikely to return to his former self and Geelong are better suited investing in their youth. Aside from that, i really really want to know what is behind this notion that Oliver cannot return to his best. Many on here (myself included) seem to accept this - likely due to almost 2 years worth of below Oliver's known AFLCA level of performances. i know he missed last years pre-season or a fare chunk of it, but surely that alone cannot account for what we are seeing. Is it understanding the new game plan or his ability to execute role? Goody did give him a reprieve at the start of the year and he is still playing 78% of game time. I cant see why he doesnt play in the same way that Libba does. They are ultimately the same type of player.
