  1. The worst case for mine was Cripps’ brutal hit on Cal Ah Chee in Round 21, 2022 which attracted a 2-match suspension (famously overturned on a technicality resulting in him being eligible for the Brownlow which of course he won). Ah Chee missed the following week due to concussion. But relevant to us was the fact that we played Carlton the following week (Round 22) and we were spewing Cripps was free to play. It worked out ok for us though coz this happened… Any excuse to watch this clip 😅
  2. Cerra copped a week for striking Jack Bowes. In a similar incident two days earlier Mitch Hinge copped a week for striking Andrew Brayshaw. Both Carlton and Adelaide appealed. Cerra’s suspension was downgraded to a fine, Hinge’s suspension was upheld. Who do Carlton and Adelaide play this weekend? They play each other.
  3. He most certainly has been derided by Demonlanders. “He’s cooked” “He’s too old” “He’s too slow” “He has the turning circle of the Titanic/Queen Mary” etc. @red and blue forever didn’t dream this stuff up, he just has a better memory than you.
  4. Yeah I’ll be there, most likely front row on a flogger. Definitely come say hello! I’ll be the one in red and blue 🤭 (cheer squad joke, never not funny… to us anyways). From when gates open until half an hour after the siren I’ll be there, except for half an hour or so from 4:30 when I’ll be out on the ground for banner. Not gonna lie… I teared up when told I’d be stepping onto the turf at Optus. ❤️💙
  5. If I participated in the skipping championships it would only be as the halftime entertainment. I’m the clumsiest klutz ever there was. I’m going to the match on Saturday. Same day fifo. I’ll hate myself on Sunday but that’s Sunday Me’s problem. I did it last year and swore up and down and black and blue I’d never, ever do it again. But here we are 🙃
  6. Before the match send your son over to the front of the cheer squad bay and we’ll give him a flag to wave or a handheld banner or even a giant head (if we bring them over). 🥰
  7. This is one of the many things about Clarrie that people either don’t know or don’t want to consider. He is extremely hard on himself. He hates not being the best that he knows he can be. He’s by no means complacent, nor will he accept a lower standard for himself. I love that you’ve got your US fam and friends in the Clarrie Fan Club 😁
  8. Luker is definitely fine now. And yes, he’s a lovely kid. He’s quiet and unassuming, but he’s always down for a chat. I also have a 19yo son which makes interacting with this age group easy.
  9. I don’t know if Goody reads DL and I’m not about to ask him anytime soon, that’s for sure. Richo reads it, as does Chocco “occasionally.” Some of the young guys read it and admin read it as well. I sincerely hope Goody doesn’t ever read it.
  10. We’re talking about Luker, right? The first time he turned up at Gosch’s having been gravely ill, bed-ridden for weeks with a brutal case of pneumonia (incl. complications) yes, he looked dreadful. He felt dreadful and very weak. You saw him at the first game which was a couple of months later.
  11. I’m not the grim reaper, Dingo 😅
  12. The Juddster’s 50th game this weekend!!! @Lucifers Hero Your boy is flying, Luci.
  13. Shame you can’t be there ☹️ Last year was my first time there. We always enter grounds a couple of hours before the match to set up the cheer squad area, prepare the banner etc. and on that occasion, in the almost-empty stadium, I walked down to the fence and just stood there taking it all in, playing passages of the gf in my head and having quite the moment. A DA buddy came and stood beside me and said, “that’s right, you’ve not been here before.” He understood perfectly. We’ll cheer extra loud for folks like you who can’t be there ❤️💙
  14. Hope nobody minds me starting a thread just for this but I didn’t want it getting lost in another thread.
  15. I fully agree, DZ. Except I’d sooner have Kysaiah Pickett over Kasaiah Pickett (whoever he is) 😉 JK. 😝 when making his last milestone banner believe me when I say we double-checked, triple-checked and even quadruple-checked the spelling before sticking it down. Lucky for Koz he doesn’t play for Collingwood… they couldn’t even get “Isaac” right 😜
  16. Exactly. I talk with Clarrie the same way I talk with my son who’s the same age. It wasn’t always this way with Clarrie though; I found that at the beginning he didn’t say much at all, he was almost always monosyllabic. Then over time trust is established and now he’s an open book. He has the very endearing trait of letting his guard down once he’s comfortable with you. As for being told he’s loved and wanted, he thrives on this. He needs to be reminded of such and fear not, I remind him often. 😊
  17. Jay Clark is 100% Cats. He was on the same tram as I was after our win over them last year, not as a journo but as a regular fan. He was with his wife, a really nice lady who barracks for the Eagles, and they talked about his passion for Geelong. It was rather sickening tbh 🥴
  18. He’s actually already looking very close to how he looked when he first came back. At that time he looked dreadful; he’d lost all his muscle tone and a ton of weight, his face was gaunt and he looked terribly weak. He was literally unrecognisable. He came over to say hello and I wondered who this guy was and why he greeted me with such familiarity. The moustache was the only giveaway. The poor thing looked like death warmed up.
  19. Luker wasn’t there today but he is remarkably close to his pre-illness condition, I’d even go so far as to say he’ll be even fitter and more toned. He’s in a really good headspace, too.
  20. Nah, they came out at 1:40-ish and wrapped it up at 2:15. A lot of handballing drills and set shot practice.
  21. Got a feeling TC might get a gig this week. Maybe I’m reading into things a little too much and/or maybe it’s coz that’s what I hope happens, but he spent a lot of time with the coaches today and the vibe was different.
  22. A cool and overcast day and I’m one of four spectators. The boys came out early today so maybe more people will turn up. But more importantly, Melky is right for this weekend’s match. Yay! I asked him how on earth he copped such a deep gash… he said he landed awkwardly and it was his own boot stud that did the damage. Spoke with Clarrie aka he who couldn’t tell a lie if his life depended on it. Private convo but please believe me when I say (again) if he leaves us, it won’t be his choice, ie. he’s a Demon and wants to remain a Demon, forever. Richo said he knows Melk is my fave player but wanted to know who my favourite youngster is. I said it’s like picking my favourite child but if I hadda name one it’d be “Harves, The Bison.” Richo said he’s heard “The Bison” being mentioned and wanted to know where it came from. I told him it comes from DL, he likes it and promised to spread it. So, @Supreme_Demon… it looks like it’s a thing 🥳 Goody said he really appreciates supporters having faith in him all along. I thought duuuuude, you clearly DON’T read Demonland 🤣
  23. I saw this on First Crack last night and felt like punching the TV. Jay Clark is a diehard Geelong supporter, of course he’s gonna float the idea that (a) Geelong have one missing piece, and (b) Clarrie is the *only player who fits the bill. Anyways, last year they didn’t approach Clarrie, he approached them. The relationship between Clarrie and the Club is entirely different now. Clark didn’t say he believes Clarrie is the only player, but he didn’t mention anyone else.
  24. The Blues were switched on from the get-go. Geelong never looked like coming back. I was surrounded by loudmouths from both denominations (species? Persuasions?) but by far and away the Carlton ones were the most annoying.
  25. At Mordor this year we watched Casey vs Geelong as the curtain raiser. Yes, it meant spending extra hours at that desolate sch!tt-hole (without having a gun to our heads, mind you) but geez it was good to have been able to cheer on both our sides.
