  1. Today’s session made the usual captain’s run look like a brutal, intensive 4-hour long training session. Not a lot to report coz not a lot happened. Max and Kozzie were swamped by kids for most of the time. Now let’s play “Where’s Kozzie?” He’s in this pic…
  2. Wow talk about weekenders. Geez Louise. Biggest turnout I’ve seen that didn’t include a DA sausage sizzle. We would’ve cleaned up today. Casey boys had a day off today. Brad Green was there and stop reading if you don’t rate him but I thanked him for being our President, NOT our interim President. Ok, you can start reading again. I told Claz about all the love and respect and gratitude for him on here and he said that means a lot to him, and you know it does because he only tells the truth. I made 30-odd new buddies today: an entire under 12s footy team over from Perth. One of them sheepishly approached me and asked if I’m in charge of the players. Bless. They’re here for a few days and they’ll be at our match tomorrow night. They went to last night’s match. For many of them this was their first game in Melbourne… Ess vs GWS…. at Marvel…. 20,000 people… did I mention Ess vs GWS? 😳 Poor sods. They said “Come and talk to our dads!” So I went and talked to their dads. The dads took note of where the cheer squad will be tomorrow and they’re gonna try to sit near us. Mostly Eagles and Freo fans, a few Collingwood fans and an Essendon fan. I was just as nice to the Essendon fan. He’s young, he’ll soon realise he’s following a crappy team. They’re all Demons fans tomorrow night though which is great coz we’ll need as many Dees fans there as possible ♥️💙
  3. Something’s not right today. I can’t quite put my finger on it. Oh, that’s it! There are no soccer balls 😱
  4. They get a massive turnout coz none of them work. 😃
  5. The boys aren’t even out on the park yet and there’s already quite a few people here. I reckon we’re gonna smash training attendance records today… there’ll be at least 20 people!!! 😅 Collingwood training sessions say Awww you’re so cute, Melbourne Edit: I just did a head count. Including everyone, even tiny little babies in prams and some folks that are here walking their *dogs and a couple of council workers (but may well be Dees fans) there’s 53 people. *Dogs not included in the head count coz that’d be silly.
  6. This is a celebration of a much-loved player’s 200th game. There’s literally Every. Single. Other. Thread. in which to post the negatives.
  7. Wrong thread
  8. You picked the right team, that’s for sure! Claz adores his little pooches but while he was getting the fencing done at his house they stayed at his mum’s place and that’s where they remain because it’s not practical to have them at his as he and his housemate aren’t always home. But he gets up to Echuca as often as he can to see them. You’re spot on about Clarrie loving the game. He takes it seriously like any other player but while actually out there he’s in his element. He has fun and forgets about everything else going on. At training he’s always bursting with energy and it’s infectious. Last week I filmed him play-fighting with Leb while they were setting up. He was on top of Leb who was struggling to push him off, then Clarrie started to tickle him. Leb was thrashing his legs around and was giggling like a little kid. It was the best. You couldn’t help but smile and laugh. We all were. I regret deleting the footage but at the time I was thinking if I posted it on here that would only invite negative comments from the soccer ball brigade. And I hated the thought of anyone putting a nasty slant on something so heartwarming. I’ve said it before but ima say it again… the only reason Claz wouldn’t be with us next season is if the club was to boot him out. Same goes for Fritta.
  9. School holidays (kids don’t have to get up for school tomorrow), weather isn’t an issue coz Marvel, and that’s all they can manage? Pathetic.
  10. Me and him both! I was expecting a 100+ point thumping 😤
  11. The Essendon fans are so listless they cbf booing Stringer anymore. 😂 They should take a leaf out of Adelaide’s book… eight years on and they boo Rick Lever as though it’s his first game against them
  12. Me and Essendon have something in common… we both hate Jake Stringer. End of things in common.
  13. How bad are Essendon fans… the Giants cheer squad is bigger than theirs and the Giants don’t even have fans 😂
  14. Had they been wise they’d have erred on the side of probability. Essendon is another club that the AFL wants to see super successful because $$$$
  15. Whoa… Essendon’s last 22 scoring shots… 1.21 (ONE GOAL, 21 BEHINDS). I’m happy as a pig in 💩
  16. Five of Essendon’s remaining six matches are prime-time, Thursday and Friday nights. Even with the stoopid floating fixture the AFL has screwed up hugely.
  17. But you’re not imaginary. Or are you?
  18. Unfortunately, even if he played every remaining game this season he’d end the year on 249.
  19. Claz is definitely my closest imaginary friend. He’s easily a 5 - 7 metre player. 👋
  20. Me watching tonight’s match…
  21. Still won’t stop some folks’ heads exploding when the selections are announced if Tmac is omitted.
  22. And some have never suffered it at all 🙋‍♀️ 😃
  23. He had you at cavoodle, right? 😅
  24. Claz the person: He’s one in a million. He’s playful and affectionate, he loves children and children love him. He can’t wait to be a dad. Claz is honest… always honest. He’s childlike in some ways, which isn’t an insult, it’s actually a beautiful quality. Claz trusts everyone and doesn’t have a malicious bone in his body. He has a huge heart, and it’s worn on his sleeve. When he hurts, he hurts hard. More than anything else in the world he adores his two cavoodles, Billy and Benji, and happiness to him is going home to his parents’ place in Echuca where his puppies “go off chops” when they see him. He says, “They love me no matter what.” But the most amazing thing about Clarrie is his ability to remember… pretty much every single thing anyone says or does. His memory is insanely accurate and as we’ve agreed, that’s not always a good thing, but at times it’s a great thing.
  25. Such as dropping Tmac? This was a decision based on our future and was met with howls of protest. Damned if he does, etc.
