Any trade up with North make the possibility of North taking Tauru basically set in stone; if North were planning on taking a mid @ 2, they wouldn't trade it - they'd chose the pick of the bunch for themselves. A trade a few spots down for North make the "reach" for Tauru more palatable. They've been linked to Tauru by just about every source so it's just joining the dots. I don't want Tauru at 5, so in my eyes this is an absolute win. We take the left over mid at 5 then cross everything and hope Armstrong goes between 5 and 9 so we can be saved from ourselves. I'm JT I trust (as long as he doesn't pick who I don't like)

Adelaide trading up for Smith? Who what where now? This has red herring all over it. The games afoot. Seems like now Lawlor is the only lock at 1. There's no way Adelaide trade up for a player that that from all reports could very well be available with their original pick. Also I just CAN'T see them passing on Draper. Anywho I'll now wait for Cal's phantom.

Nah they'd do a deal with North for pick 2. Richmond's pick 6 and one of their later ones to ensure a Lawlor/Smith double. They won't do that though because Smith or Langford might fall to 6 anyway.

I'm hoping Adelaide do what they have to to get the local lad and Carlton do what they've been linked to in Walsh's cousin (FOS) and we're left with JT being able to chose between Langford and Smith (imagine he chose Armstrong 😂)

That's great for us because Adelaide will now be spooked into trading up with Norf and Norf can use 4 on Tauru!

I wonder if Richmond do 6 & 20/23/24 for North's pick 2. Feel Richmond would love to pair up Lawlor and one of Smith/FOS and also we know North desperate af to split and 6 is prime to get Tauru and not be seen as reaching..

They don't have to break lines with pace they have beautiful lateral movement and exquisite disposal. Sharp looks to have a bit of toe and will add some pace next year

5 Langford 9 Reid I'm locked in now. Absolutely been sleeping on Reid, he looks beauty!

If he wants limited opportunities at a plastic club and to pass up on an opportunity to play for his father's club on the G for the club he grew up supporting, I doubt any of us will lose an ounce of sleep over it.

Were we linked to Reid at some stage? Imagine drafting Langford and Reid, all of a sudden our skill level goes up immeasurably

There are quite a few guys I'd be happy to take at 5, but Langfords the one that fills me with the most dread that if he's available and we pass it will bite us big time. Looks to be one of those special players that just does everything right, and conveniently falls to 5 as there are other players with more flashy traits that see them go higher.

Don't know about that I feel it all comes down to who's available at 5 and our potential to fill certain positions in the future. Maybe if we know Khalani White and or Derksen still keen we just grab 2 mids

General consensus amoungt the amateur draft gurus is FOS goes 1 - 4. Most likely Carlton because he's Walsh's cousin, if that means anything. Think there's a red herring out there that Carlton into Draper to force Adelaide to trade with North so North can take Tauru at 4 instead of "reaching" and get some steak knves - I thin k that scenario is a stretch though

Bouncing between here and Bigfooty I feel like, at least before Cal comes out with his phantom, these are THE outcomes for us at 5; North pick Tauru and our options are; Langford/Smith or other. North take a mid and our options are; Tauru or Smith (Carlton and Adelaide into Draper and Langford) Lawlor/FOS/Draper will be gone.

It's looking like the cards might fall that way. If we rate Tauru high enough & North don't "reach" at 2, he won't last until 9. Think it really depends on what North do, I can't see us passing on Langford, and if Draper's gone before Adelaide's pick then they'll pick a one of Smith or Langford you'd assume.

Based on the above herald sun mock they are suggesting if North take Tauru we can end up with Langford or Smith, if North take a mid it could be Tauru or Smith (Adelaide linked with Langford/Draper) If we take Tauru at 5 we won't take Armstrong at 9. I could deal with a Tauru & Travalia/Allen combo.

Smith got 30 touches in a VFL match for the tiges, he'll be fine.
