WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
I'll say it before and I'll say it again. A 2 minute highlight video means everything for supporters but nothing for recruiters. Look at Freeman's highlights vs Salem's. Everyone got sucked into Freeman's burst ability, the way he would slice through opponents like butter.. Salem's highlights were competitive, neat kick, a hard runner and tackled well. Parish may not have the flashiest highlights, but he is everything we are looking for in a future AFL star. Someone who will be competitive week in and week out, not go missing.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Isn't it? Because at that time Melbourne were offering picks 2 and 3 lol.. It's not about what Adelaide want to settle for, Dangerfield has to agree to be traded to the club and unfortunately the way it's going it's Geelong or nothing. We are offering Adelaide pick 6 this year and 1st round next year, Adelaide are all over that but Dangerfield isn't accepting a trade to Melbourne.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Listening to trade radio is hilarious.. Some of the biased supporters that ring up and propose a trade scenario. I remember last year a St Kilda supporter ringing up suggesting trading their pick 1 and Terry Milera for Dangerfield. It provides me some comedic value that's for sure.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Let me ask you this.. If Prestia was at Melbourne and Howe was at Gold coast.. Would you accept pick 4 & Howe for Prestia and pick 20? Absolutely not..If we want to land Prestia it will be pick 4 + Howe with no pick 20 in return.. Simple as that.

^^ This exactly. Which is why it frustrates me that people can put up trade suggestions like "Pick 2 for Treloar and a 3rd Rounder" .... Why would GWS trade their gun proven AFL player who is young and has the potential to be a future A-grade star of the game ALONG with a 3rd rounder for pick number 2 on a bloke who is a current star in an under 18's competition? Not to mention giving up on a bloke who has had a few years in the system and taking more steps backwards in offloading him for a player who has had no years in the system. Get real some of you.- The 2014 AFL National Draft

Is it just me, or has Kelly played his two BEST games for the year against us? The first one he won a rising star from it.. Honestly, rating first year players against Melbourne is a complete waste of time. Why do you think that players win rising star awards against us? We are a team that possess a number one goal and that is to try to improve week by week. Which is why we let young players off the hook to gather up easy disposals and have the time to make strong decisions and provide them with that confidence early within that game which eventuates into an awesome game. Look at Devon Smith.. he absolutely CARVED it up against us but I have never seen him play a game like that against any other side this year. For some of you on here who are comparing Tyson to Kelly and are saying 'Oh, Kelly is one to influence a game unlike Tyson' are completely delusional. For the ONE exception in Nathan Jones over the years and years of misery supporting the Melbourne Football Club, he is the ONLY player that has taken his game to a consistent level and flourished within a very poor structured side that fails to develop players due to the difficulty it is in playing alongside team mates who struggle which the basics (handball, kicking, marking and converting). THEN you have someone in Dom Tyson who will nearly take out our best and fairest and has played consistently well within his FIRST YEAR at the club... And then you have a post like this.. If we didn't have Tyson playing for us in the Red & Blue I can guarantee you we would NOT have won the game against Adelaide, Richmond & Essendon.- The 2014 AFL National Draft

I wouldn't look at a trade option as black and white as that..Personally I would think as a team we would benefit of having someone like Casboult in the side over Watts in terms of structure. Think of when we didn't have Chris Dawes playing.. He can't take a mark, is an average kick, but without him in the side we had to mix up our backline, didn't have any options going forward and couldn't take a mark inside fifty to save us. What happens if Dawes gets hit again with another injury, we don't have James Frawley anymore and we just have Hogan who is playing in his first year of AFL and possibly Jamar/Max Gawn down in our forward line. What happens then? Think of a trade like Watts to Casboult on a more higher end level than just 'vomitting' because one is a good user by foot and the other isn't....- The 2014 AFL National Draft

You'll find it's because that 1.7 clanger a game usually results in a score from a turnover, which in turn then stands out more than a normal clanger that doesn't result in anything but just a turn over further up the ground.. Ablett will have more clangers because he has more clearances, he will get boot to ball to kick it out of congestion only to land in the hands of an opponent. It's like a heart surgeon making that one big mistake that sticks out at work as someone died, versus someone who makes more errors but those errors are less damaging.- The official I love Dom Tyson thread

Let's all be thankful he is in the Red & The Blue! - WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
