  1. Spargo was one of our highest rated players during that 3rd quarter surge. If you enjoyed that quarter, I suggest we don’t drop him.
  2. I love how many posters have been complaining about how Goody plays favourites and isn’t letting the young guys have a go and then we let the young guys have a go and they go ā€œnah that 19 year old first round pick in his second game back from injury needs to be DROPPED.ā€
  3. I’m just trying to figure out why Tholstrup would be dropped…
  4. I think it’s probably just a reaction to people being overwhelmingly angry despite us winning the game comfortably. Demonland is often just a pile on of bitterness and so those of us who try to celebrate the small things like to hit back once in awhile.
  5. Confused why we’re back to booting it long again. Maybe load managing so we can pressure in the 4th like last week?
  6. Uh oh you’re about to get yelled at for this in ALL CAPS
  7. So Roo is back in form then…
  8. Sitting MCC for the first time tonight. I’ve got my top hat and monocle all ready to go.
  9. I could be wrong but it just looks like—similar to the AFL side against Freo— things have really started to click.
  10. šŸ‘ Whatever you say, champ.
  11. Definitely don’t disagree but as someone working in that space the general rule of thumb is that the first narrative put out on something this arbitrary is typically the most widely seen and believed—even if later potentially shown to be BS most people have already moved onto the next thing and will never come back to the story. So the first thing they read sticks and whatever comes next (if they even see it) elicits a mild shrug. Best recent examples of this strategy come from a lot of the things said by a certain orange man on the other side of the pacific.
  12. I feel like there’s a plausible scenario in which Morris puts this out as some sort of weird attempt at an apology to the Trac camp after the offseason damage he did to Trac and the club.
  13. From a PR perspective for Trac it wouldn’t be the dumbest move if someone from his camp told Morris this speech happened even if it didn’t. More people likely to see the original story than the follow ups that it didn’t happen and helps Trac look better after getting the ā€œdivaā€ label. If it leaks that it didn’t happen (which seems like what we’re hearing), it has minimal negative impact on the club or Trac and Morris gets burned and looks like the little weasel that we all know he is.
  14. All that post says is he ā€œlooks set to return.ā€ In Goody’s actual presser he makes clear it’s looking good but he does not say it’s a certainty. Recognise it’s splitting hairs a bit but still
  15. I redact my Kolt as vice captain suggestion. Unless it somehow actually happens next year in which case I will delete this comment and revel in the sheer brilliance of my original comment.
  16. Yeah you’re probably right—just was trying to think of who comes to mind as a leader from the younger group.
  17. This is feeling more and more likely. Love Rick Lever obviously but he’s out injured a lot. Could see Max and Viney stepping back to focus on their game next year with Trac as captain and Lever as vice. Could also see a scenario where vice is one of the younger guys like Kolt or Rivers.
  18. He looks like eventually he’ll just be Harvey Langford—no comparison needed.
  19. Re: the conversation about what changed this week—I feel like it wasn’t so much that our players intentionally weren’t putting in the effort or weren’t buying in to Goody’s plan in the previous games, it’s that they were confused by the gameplan and became more and more demoralised as it continued to not work. 5 weeks of reviewing their failures and mistakes is what has led to so many finally getting it. In other words, they had the same growing pains other clubs do when they implement something new—as others here had predicted using the Hawthorn and Brisbane examples. The talk of Goody ā€œlosingā€ the players was rubbish.
  20. No Lever no May no McVee. Petty up forward. Disco concussion. It was certainly not perfect but I’m not gonna complain about our rag tag group keeping their prolific scorers under 100.
  21. Max was an absolute brick wall in the 4th. Felt like the good old days.
  22. Have lived all over the world and have never seen a sport as poorly officiated.
  23. 12 first round picks and a new rolls Royce and they can maybe have Kozzy.
  24. Nice ovation for the boys coming off at halftime
  25. I feel like I could cry solely because I got to watch a good, fun half of footy that made me excited about this team.
