I have been very sympathetic towards Goody in the past and this week, but I don't know how you can withstand so much external pressure and two 58 point losses in a row. Although, how everyone is talking about our players on here I wonder what they think a new coach would be able to do? I also wonder with all the bad press we have been getting over the last 3 years, whether anyone would want to work at Melbourne.

The way some people describe our "wasted years" on here, it actually does sound like true genius. You'd think we were the only good team in the AFL in 22, and 23.

Our list was and is good but there are clubs that are just as stacked. I think there really is an unfair glorification of our list. Take the fact that we have never had a true star forward. There are teams that were more represented in the AA in 22 and 23. Again, such entitlement. Some teams are/were stacked and never managed to win one premiership, let along multiple.

We went 57 years without winning a flag and then won one in an amazing year. Sure, it would have been awesome to win more in a row but we didn't. The fact people on here feel somehow entitled to it is ridiculous. Dynasties are rare. Some people need to take a step back and realise they sound like spoilt brats. Given the awful year we had last year I understand why everyone is upset at our loss to North. But a little perspective would be great. Firstly, North have a team of guns and they played very well. Secondly, Gold Coast are also a good side. Given how even the competition is, penciling in wins is not something you can do these days. Just look at what happened with Carlton in round 1 and Geelong in round 2. The success of GWS in 2023 and Hawthorn last year shows that you can start a season badly and come home with a bang. Goody explained at the start of the season that there may be teething issues with the changes they are trying to make in terms of a game plan. So the loss last week shouldn't be a surprise. I think it would serve us all well to take a step back and save the catastrophic thinking.

This. North Melbourne didn't play like a bottom 4 side. We were awful, but North Melbourne played really well and have been building for a while. It was going to click eventually for them, unfortunately it happened against us.
