  1. Seems I was the only one wildly frustrated with TMac today and pleased that Ben Brown was waiting in the wings. I did think that Tomald played reasonably well in round one (with steadily diminishing returns ever since), so now I don't know if it's confirmation bias or not. Out TMac and probably May. In Brown and Majak. And no disrespect, but our other 150-plus games veterans in Nev, Nat and Melksham can no longer be relied upon in clutch situations either (e.g. finals), and should probably be transitioned out sooner rather than later. It's not the same at other clubs, but veteran players at other clubs haven't been through the same as what ours have. We have coverage for the above-mentioned players, and our maturity is beginning to shine without them. I'm also confident that our next generation of veterans will continue to perform and lead the club and nurture our recruits in a way that our current ones haven't been able to due to a multitude of circumstances.
  2. I am Jake Lever
  3. Seems counter-intuitive but a slop-fest requires extra maturity - which the Cats have in spades. We've also demonstrated extra maturity this season, so will be interesting to see how far we've come. Crazy to think that we could go two games clear of fifth spot by the end of round 4!
  4. Apologies if covered somewhere else in this thread. Looking to sign up to a five game membership. It's unlikely that I'll make it to Melbourne this year, but who knows. The question is, is it easy to transfer tickets? Ideally, I would like to donate them back to supporters who might not be able to afford to go, or offer them to anyone who wants to recruit a newbie to football. Any advice?
  5. And here I was thinking that Underwood's inane afterthought-bubble would disadvantage Pickett. Each to their own I guess.
  6. 'Demons star Max Gawn triggers the latest global helium supply crisis' is an awesome headline, the big fella destroying the hopes and dreams of kiddies across the world with upcoming birthday parties.
  7. Ben Brown also recorded the AFL's highest average distance covered per game in 2019.
  8. The secret to Pickett's evasiveness is that even he doesn't know what his legs are doing.
  9. Dom Barry, Paul Puopolo, and Jackson Callow combined for 7.5 for Norwood on the weekend.
  10. Can't wait to take on the Cats next week. We have them covered. Hope the boys feel the same. A 40-point win in the taking.
  11. Yes.
  12. Yup. Just keep winning. Not completely convinced but just keep converting for now. Love the maturity.
  13. We've got this. Completely up to us.
  14. Can't stop watching Kozzie's goal. Mesmerising, and the footwork is almost impossible to break down in full speed. Reminds me of a surfer entering a barrel. They disappear for a second, emerge, tack, and then disappear again, before magically coming out the other side. Sublime stuff. Edit: plus sharks.
  15. Knew of Rami a bit while he was based in Port Douglas for The Pacific and loved Mr Robot until the final season - but his turn in Bohemian Rhapsody was for the most part middling while also demonstrating a growing maturity. Not unlike the Demons of the past two weeks, just to keep things on topic.
  16. I finally watched Rami Malek's Oscar-winning portrayal of Freddie Mercury last night and now it's just a big mental jumble when Jake Lever goes to fist the ball away.
  17. I've been doing my best to refrain from posting but there's a clear connect-the-dots being missed here. As many may recall, Alex Neal-Bullen was one of three AFL/AFLW players recently awarded a full scholarship. It was from Torrens University, as part of their partnership with the AFLPA. A nice pick-up in alignment terms.
  18. I had half signed off by then but mostly recall some poor entries in that period, Harmes being one. The clearance-bang-it-on-boot-forward issue wasn't as evident. Acknowledged that we didn't have Viney out there or as many centre clearances, but everyone has been complaining about it for years and so should acknowledge that we seem to be making a concerted effort to address the issue at the start of the season rather than after a poor loss mid-way through. Fixing that may also be causing some of our clearance and other issues to an extent, such as Clarry holding onto the ball for too long (likely another response to a common complaint).
  19. Some familiar issues but I only recall one or two bombs into the forward line all day.
  20. Extending two of our highest paid players right now suggests to me a deal may have been reached with Oliver and we just have to move some stuff around. Probably wishful speculation though.
  21. Any chance Austin's old man was down for the day to teach the boys some offensive blocking moves?
  22. I think 'premium, members-only content' is the intended meaning when translated from Twitterish.
  23. Still lurking on occasion mate, but keeping the opinions to myself. That said, I've never really been inclined to open any potentially racially-charged topics on Demonland in the past until you basically summonsed me here. Haven't and won't read this thread back. You can't change small-minded bias on an internet forum. Meanwhile, "Free the Darwin 15" - something to properly rally around. That's me 'virtue-signalling' on here and every day on the fence of the local detention centre.
  24. Appreciate the suggestion guys (and others). But have had enough. I support free speech but if Demonland doesn't want to shut down obvious trolls or deliberately destabilising influences because it drives traffic then I'm out. See you in the soup. And please keep up the good fight. Go Dees!
