  1. I'd say Dawes hasn't pulled up well. Neeld was adament that Clark is playing.. So I would say they are taking Clark, Sellar and Pedo as the talls for the forward line. Otherwise we will be verrrrry top heavy

  2. I have done about 5 of these, but final one coming up to this week.

FB: Garland - Frawley - Terlich

HB: Watts - Gilles - Dunn

    C: Blease - N.Jones - Viney

HF: Sylvia - Dawes - Howe

FF: Sellar - Clark - Byrnes

    R: Jamar - Grimes - Rodan

    I: Jetta - Toumpas - McKenzie

    S: Trengove

    Match Ups:

    Frawley - Schultz

    Garland - Westhoff

    Gilles - Butcher

    Terlich - Ebert

McKenzie - Ebert (lock down role)

Jones - Boak (just beat him)

    Viney - Wines

  3. FB: Garland - McDonald - Terlich

HB: Dunn - Frawley - Watts

    C: Viney - N.Jones - Blease

HF: Kent - Clark - Howe

FF: Byrnes - Dawes - Jetta

    R: Jamar - Grimes - Sylvia

    I: Rodan - Sellar - McKenzie

    S: Toumpas

    E: Pederson - Gillies - Nicholson

    - 7 Debutants

    - McKenzie to do a job, otherwise not in the 22 based on talent alone

    - Sellars form gets him in over Pedo

    - Nicho and Jetta very stiff. Terlich based on form.

    - Kent to be subbed off halfway through the third and Toumpa to be let loose

  4. This is assuming Blease/McDonald/Clark/Dawes all get up and Trengove needs another week.

FB: Garland - McDonald - Terlich

HB: Watts - Frawley - Dunn

    C: Blease - Jones - Grimes

HF: Howe - Dawes - Kent

FF: Sellar - Clark - Byrnes

    R; Jamar - Rodan - Sylvia
    I: Viney - Jetta - McKenzie

    S: Toumpas

    E: Gillies - Davey - Tapscott

IF McDonald is out - Gillies in

IF Blease is out - Davey comes in

    Key Matchups:

    McDonald to Shultz

    Frawley to Westhoff

    Garland to Brad Ebert

    McKenzie to Boak

    Wines to Viney :)

  5. This is a serious question, what benefit do you get from an MCC membership that a Premium MFC Membership wouldn't give you? You get guaranteed GF tickets if MFC makes (big if lol) a reserved seat at every home game on level 2 and GA entry to away games. If you attend the cricket or other finals games thats another matter I guess.

For me, I go to alot more games then just the MFC. That is the real benefit of MCC memberships

  6. Billyboy...

Yep, there is always exceptions to the rule.

However, from my general take of the MCC members around me, MOST could afford to spend the extra $60 to help the club out.

It is a common fact that the MCC members are generally more financially capable then the average (due to the history of the MCC and the whole waiting line shenanigans)

$60 is a round of beers at the MCG anyway. SOME need to lift their game.

  7. Many MCC members don't join because they get into the MCG games with the MCC membership. It's not cheap! We always lose at Docklands and you can buy a ticket on the day for less than the price of a membership. I'm sick and tired of the media referring to NFC as a smaller club. We have lots of supporters who aren't members because of the MCC members.

It is true, but at the same time pathetic by those supporters. You can get a low MFC/MCC package for $60!

  8. 4G has nothing to do with it. Hopefully they aren't going to be videoing it off their phones.

Casey isn't exactly Liam Jurrah Remote... it has cable.

I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't allowed to stream it live. But I would be happy with a recording to watch the following few days

  9. Interesting comments - Dawes took a juggling mark and hit up Howe on the lead in game 1 on the weekend - fair to say it's more then I've seen Martin do over his time at the Dees.

Also his contest 1 v 3 which resulted in Sylvia offloading the ball to Howe wasn't bad either.

Some people are not easily impressed I assume

Yep agreed. I think although Dawes didn't get much of the footy, he did impact the contest enough to show some help. Wasn't a terrible game for him.

As for Martin, Athletic yes.... Smart and talented............. Jury is out. Every time he played on and tried to kick around the man on the mark may result in less years of my life.

  10. Do we see Jetta and Nicholson playing in the same backline?

Ideally you have two main talls, one third tall/small, two attackers and one lock down small.

    Talls: Frawley + McDonald Sellar/Gillies/Pederson

    Third: Garland MacDonald

    Attackers: Watts + Dunn Grimes/Frawley

    Lock Down: Nicholson Jetta/Tapscott/Terlich

  11. I'm no fan of Mckenzie but he has to do a job on Boak or Hartlett. Ports midfield is way better than ours and that's why I predict port will knock us off.

Based on the weekend, I wouldn't bother with Pederson. Sellar to take that role. I hope I'm wrong and pederson shows more in the remaining games.

Boak is a fair point. I am yet to see him tear apart a game though. I guess he would shut him completely out of the game.

Pedersons supply wasnt great, I am hoping he just needs to adjust...

  12. Wanted to gather some thoughts after our first real hit out and see what people are thinking for Round 1 v Port.

FB: Garland - McDonald - Nicholson

HB: Watts - Frawley - Dunn

    C: Grimes - Jones - Blease

HF: Howe - Pederson - Toumpas

FF: Davey - Dawes - Byrnes

    R: Jamar - Sylvia - Viney

    I: Jetta - Sellar/MacDonald - Rodan

    S: Kent

    E: McKenzie, Magner, Gillies

    Reasons

McKenzie - Who is worth stopping against Port? His foot skills are horrendous, and is a liability because of this. Comes in to do jobs as needed.

Magner - Viney/Jones/Rodan fill his role better. Can't have another clearance hardnut in the team

Gillies - Hope he shows some more in the other NABs, at the moment is fighting with Sellar/Garland for that other tall defender role.

  13. Indigenous All-Stars squad:
    Adelaide:
Cameron Ellis-Yolmen, Graham Johncock, Jared Petrenko
    Carlton: Eddie Betts
Essendon: Alwyn Davey, Courtenay Dempsey, Leroy Jetta, Nathan Lovett-Murray, Patrick Ryder
    Fremantle: Jonathon Griffin, Joshua Simpson
    Geelong: Bradley Hartman
Gold Coast: Harley Bennell, Jarrod Harbrow, Steven May
Greater Western Sydney: Shaun Edwards, Curtly Hampton, Gerald Ugle, Zac Williams, Nathan Wilson
Hawthorn: Jed Anderson, Amos Frank, Lance Franklin
    Melbourne: Aaron Davey, Neville Jetta
Port Adelaide: Brendon Ah Chee, Jake Neade, Chad Wingard
Sydney Swans: Tony Armstrong, Lewis Jetta
West Coast: Josh Hill, Murray Newman, Sharrod Wellingham
Western Bulldogs: Brett Goodes, Liam Jones, Koby Stevens

    To be confirmed:
    Brisbane Lions:
    Ashley McGrath
    North Melbourne: Lindsay Thomas

  14. What gets released to the media and what actually occurs can be a completely different thing. They may have him on a modified program, which may last another 5-6 weeks, so therefore they can promote someone else for the 8 weeks.. then when Gawn becomes available again for selection, the rookie can step down. Not sure there is toooooo much to worry about.
