  1. Outrageous "free" on Chol ๐Ÿ‘Ž
  2. Too small footprint for current AFL standards. Single oval hemmed in by housing. Hawks want to move to Dingley for good reasons.
  3. I think Goodwin has often been slow to react and change tactics in game. He found a formula that worked in 2021 and wants to keep rinsing and repeating. It is not working in 2024. I think he did try to change tactics at some stages during the season but this is best done in pre-season than on the run. He did have injuries this season, had it not been for that, a top 8 finish was likely. He does have 1 premiership so that gives him a buffer. I think he is on notice now, a poor showing in 2025 and his exit papers will be stamped.
  4. Sometime forward structure and tactics play a role in poor set shot outcomes as well. If most of your inside 50s are shallow and along the boundary less of them will result in goals than when you had fowards that found space and got in better positions to kick goals.
  5. I watched it, interesting viewing. Anything similar covering the RDB move out there in Youtube Land?
  6. It is absurd that Pasifika kids aren't covered by the NGA academies. A very big and growing immigrant demographic in Australia and a culture that gravitates to Rugby Union (and Rugby League by default).
  7. The footprint of current state-of-the art AFL training facilities is larger than Uni of Melbourne has available. BTW, one of Carlton's earliest ovals used in its early history are where the playing fields and residential colleges are currently at Melbourne Uni. As for Fawkner Park, awesome location, don't see local sporting clubs and residents allowing that though. The beauty of Caulfield RC Reserve is that it is currently dead ground, not used by anyone regularly other than some dog walkers.
  8. Carlton (the neighbourhood) and Lygon Street have changed and are changing but I am confident Nonna Tracc would aporove of the lunches served at Parco dei Principi with potential team mates like Silvagni, Cerra, Cincotta, Fantasia and Pittonet there ... ๐Ÿ˜
  9. If it wasn't for Diamond Joe, the Dees would no longer be a club, its remnants would be the Melbourne Hawks with some hortibly garish colour scheme and founded in 1996. Doesn't mean Joe G. Has a role to play at MFC today though, his time has passed. I think its just a clickbait article.
  10. Yes, heard about this on the radio this morning but the contentious issues at MRC may not cross over with what MFC are trying to setup at the racecourse reserve.
  11. I see the Petracca Parma logo is in blue, could still be used even if Trac went to another club with a matching colour scheme [runs for the foxhole before the incoming mortars detonate] ... ๐Ÿ˜
  12. I am not really critical of the speed, its always going to take time with a location like that, interests of MRC, the Trust, local government, State government and assorted community groups.
  13. Well we did have two PMs who were passionate Carlton fans, Menzies & Fraser. But CFC was always a broad church that attracted quite disparate folk, from Prime Ministers, judges, academics to local tradesmen to assorted immigrant groups that passed through Carlton to the residents in the local Housing Commission blocks on upper Lygon etc ... Anyways, I am detracting from this thread. I am a big fan of this Caulfield RC push and MFC should persist with it as better sites won't easily come up again. Just look at how the Hawks are planning on Dingley and the Bombers are now in Tullamarine. Caulfield is prime real estate in comparison.
  14. Passing through Caulfield on the train now, the Dees really have to make this work. Such a great location for many reasons. The alternative will be Casey as a permanent home!
  15. The 70s to 90s of the last century, most definitely. Last 20 odd years, not really.
  16. Most definitely.
  17. Even worse than the worst toilet in Scotland!
  18. Ah yes indeed it is 16. Getting ahead of myself. A common 'Bagger trait ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜
  19. 17 Carlton Premiership trophies: 1906, 1907, 1908, 1914, 1915, 1938, 1945, 1947, 1968, 1970, 1972, 1979, 1981, 1982, 1987, 1995. They are on display in the foyer of the club at Princes Park. Also has some displays of club history, old guernseys from different eras etc. There is a cafe there as well (1864 Cafe). It is quite well done ๐Ÿ‘Œ
  20. If you are talking about the salary cap, that was first introduced in 1987.
  21. 8 of them in between the Dees penultimate Premiership and 2021 mind you ๐Ÿ˜‰
  22. You saw for yourself, it is a nice set up at Parc de Princes. I look my son there for an open training session the Saturday before last, eating almond croissants, sipping on a capuccino, the sunshine rays reflecting from 17 Premiership cups in the foyer ... from the window you can watch the players training in the gym and on the oval doing drills ... ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ˜ Seriously, this is something the Dees should aspire to, a real home where all parts of the club can live under one roof and fans can visit to help deepen the connection with their club.
  23. Don't think we went fishing for the Tracc Trout, seemed like that fish was trying to jump out of the water and into our boat ๐Ÿ˜ Like we share Navy Blue, we have strange Match Committe decisions, odd in-game substitutions, like to hoof the footy along the boundary line instead of lowering the eyes and looking for options with separation and in good positions to score. When things go wrong, we don't have "learnings" but we do "find things out about ourselves" ... ๐Ÿ˜
  24. Sir Willian Fry Reserve, Cheltenham, plenty of room and next to SRL .... call it SRL Arena ... I will waive my consultancy fee, gratis for the Dees ๐Ÿ˜
  25. Well Newman did not go out and seek to make contact. Neale charged towards him and he then put his arm up (at least that is what saw from the camera view). It was reactive, maybe even instinctive.
