Stupid by the player to play on,
stupid by the football department to allow him to play on.
stupid to give Brisbane a target for next week or indeed Geelong if we get that far.stupid for the long term player management of tracca
stupid stupid stupid absolutely stupid not to use a fit player with two legs for the balance of the game.
if Smith is not better than a one legged Trac then he should have not been medi-sub and should not have been resigned for another term.mind boggling stupid in my opinion
Pettracca also played with the flu when we lost to Freo at the MCG 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

If TMac was closer to full fitness, I'd be bringing him back for Melksham. But we can't afford to play him when he's spent so long out of the game. Particularly given the odds of us playing an under-fit Petracca will be high (he'll declare himself fine to play and the coaches won't go against his word).
You'd hope him as one of the leaders should look after the team first rather than himself... 🤔

So Lobb + 2 1st round picks for Dogga? 😅

Hawkins and Buddy need to retire... Both are well past it

Switching off the life support machine already? Sad.
I hope our players don't have the same mindset as some of our supporters... Some of them are basically suggesting we forfeit this season 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

Elephant in the room...
We're still a small club that can't consistently perform in big games in the big smoke.
We won it last year, a fantastic achievement, on the road in front of a handful of local supporters and rent-a-crowds. Sorry but it's true.
Twice against Collingwood, Twice against Sydney, Geelong, and almost Carlton... every single time we've played "the big boys" in Melbourne in battles between contenders this year we have been comprehensively beaten in the contest with pressure.
It's great if you're a good travelling team during the season but in finals it's irrelevant when all your games are at the MCG in front of 80k+...
I don't want to understate the significance of last year's flag at all, but this year is legitimate "big boys" finals on the big stage and we've really buckled on almost every occasion.
There was a shot of a Swans supporter doing the choking motion last night and it's pretty accurate.
As soon as things returned to normal and perennial contenders Sydney, Collingwood, Geelong come back onto the scene, we've been deers in headlights. We're so close yet so far.
To lose against Collingwood and Sydney TWICE on the MCG in the fashion we have is an indictment on the season in my view. Taking nothing away from those teams at all but we have been way off it on the REAL big stage this season.
We turned it up on the other side of the country when most of us were locked up at home and couldn't even celebrate, away from the stress and scrutiny of Melbourne. Now the big boys are out to play and we're still a league below.
Last night was just so typically Melbourne in outcome. I know I'm being harsh but it's been an obvious trend this year.
I find it comical that of all supporter bases are the Swans the ones to say we are chokers. They are up there with Geelong as the most wasteful in the last decade with all their finals runs.
I couldn't care less what other supporters think about us, all I want for our club is sustained success and its rightful place in the AFL's elite (granted it is long lost but we have the opportunity to reclaim it).

Not just the ones paid. Pies getting crucified on frees not paid as well.
Why can't the Dees become the darlings of the AFL and the umpires? We always seem to have to win it against opposition and the guys in green/yellow.

Geelong have tightened up on the pies. They can't get free
And they get all the help from the umpires

They can't even pay for a good slo-mo or 360 system, appaling!
Just checked on Google. 300,000 dollars for both the spider camera and a 360 deg camera system. Surely the AFL can spare that money? Oh wait Gil MacLachlan needs his exit bonus I guess 🤷🏻♂️

Pies and Swans move the ball so much better than us on rebound and kick outs. Game style alteration required for us over the off season to become potent offensively again.
The answer is in our outburst from centre clearance and stoppage. What we did to the Bulldogs in the GF 3rd quarter, we should do continuously until we have trampled the opposition. We had some of that flare last night, but couldn't sustain it or lost it due to undisciplined free kicks.

In all fairness two of those matches (Sydney and the second against Collingwood) we lost the game more than they beat us.
I still think our best is the best, however we seem to struggle to have consistent performance week after week and even during a match. Even last night, I wonder if that soft [censored] and 50 m in the first was the pivotal point when we killed our momentum.... Who knows if that didn't happen, it looked like we were bringing the game in to our terms ...
Well it looks like the short form for "Free Kick" has been censored 😅

Hard to have confidence given we’re 0-5 against the top 4 sides.
After week 1 finals last year we were 1-0 against Port, 2-0 against Geelong and 2-0 against Brisbane. They were the other top 4 sides of the 2021 season.
Much like our atrocious MCG record against Sydney, short and long term history is against us.
It’s looking like we’re a 4th-6th side this year.
In all fairness two of those matches (Sydney and the second against Collingwood) we lost the game more than they beat us.

Led the way but unfortunately no one else followed him
Appears to have sorted out his goal kicking so he's now the full package. Flawless. Best player in the league
If only Pettraca had his consistency, we would be unstoppable!

For mine the experience with the crowd was mixed.
Some really loud and vocal ferals, some others more calm but riding the wave on the 2nd and 3rd. And even the ones sitting next to me that gave me the looks every time I jumped of my seat or booed the old flopper Franklin.
Not like 2018 but much better than your average crowd from this year's H&A

Sydney fans embarrassed us, we let our team down.
If we're going to come back, we add least need to act as the home crowd!
Mate you need goals to fuel the energy, [censored] me Melksham wasting all those goals. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to scream like a madman only to be disappointed by the butcher Melksham

Yep I've been at the G for many of those losses. I really hate losing to them here. Or anywhere obviously, but especially here.
Don't worry GF we'll get them, TMac back.
We can't play any worse than today.
Our best is the best, you could see it tonight in those outburst of goals, we couldn't sustain it though

This week’s banner celebrates Tracc’s 150th game. There is an absolutely stunning (and huge) montage of mainly Tracc moments. This section instantly made me think of @Jaded No More…
This banner is gonna look amazing tomorrow night.
Also, Tom Sparrow’s 50th gets a mention. But not Hibbo’s 100th as a Demon because only total number of games is noted. All good though, we all know the importance of this. ❤️💙You mean that 100 games with the red and the blue gives us the father - son opportunity?
