If Fremantle sink any lower they'll have to send down another one of those submersibles to find them.

The only team that can finish below Freo is GC. Let's hope their new coach motivates them to fight for the Dees draft pick.

Freo now 4th last on the live ladder.
Who on here had them as a sleeping giant after we lost to them? And was like ‘they won’t be worried about the 70 point loss to GWS?’
They are soon to be 7 and 10 unless they pull off their best H&A victory ever Sat arvo.
Not a chance, they are missing 3 - 4 players from their best 22.

I wonder how much the landscape among the kids has changed since 2016 - 2017 til now.
My guess is that now you see fewer Hawthorn, South Melbourne, Carlton and Essendon guernseys. Richmond must be a very popular and one can dream we are on the right track in developing the new supporter base.

Surely we would like to finish 4th if Collingwood locks the 1st place.
We'd always want an "away" final at the G.
Don't want to travel to the Gabba or Adelaide Oval in the first week of finals.

It was always meant to happen.
GC has been a very underachieving team during his tenure.

This article has the remaining fixtures for all teams. Having looked at all those team around Freo I expect Swan, Richmond and Carlton to finish well above them. The two team that concern me the most are the Suns and GWS as both don’t have any easy games in the run in.
Think it will be between those two and Freo for draft picks 4-6. I’d be happy with any of those picks. But I’ll be death riding hard and hoping we get pick 4.Suns are a certainty to drop off a cliff, they always do in the last part of the season.

One of those i50 tackles (2nd quarter, 5:44 on the clock) still allowed for Byrnes to give-off to Steele mid-tackle. who managed to clear the ball (albeit ineffectively) back out of the 50.
Without wanting to get too pedantic, it’s interesting to see how that champion data definition doesn’t quite match up to the reality.
Yes, a lot of "half" tackles that are not effective/impactful. Should only count successful tackles where the ball carrier can't continue to move the ball.

Yep. He'll retire in his early thirties a multi millionaire. Dont forget Freo might come good in a few years. Why would anyone feel sorry for him. Absurd.
If they don't keep losing talent perhaps.
A lot of noise about Darcy leaving to go to Jeelong.
They still need a proper fwd line, I don't think Amiss is a differential player, he may be solid but won't be a Cameron or Hawkins level forward.

The feathered caps will be on sale if the Swans get over them in two weeks.
Although I don't really like saying this... I hope Collingwood smashes them next week and kills any fighting spirit left in the Dockers.
Then it becomes a down hill until the end season for them, all the way down to bottom 5 🤞🏻.

I found the following video:
some updates on the development of Casey and some minor upgrades in our MCG offices.

Another week that the teams behind us are gifting us the top 4 place.
We take care of the Saints tomorrow and we'll be 4 points plus percentage in front on that tight race for 4th on the ladder.

Fair point. Also the opposition have worked out how to limit his impact on the game.
This!
Statistically he may be trending similar to previous seasons, however the perceived impact has decreased in my view.
In 2021 and even 2022, it genuinely felt like he was a match winning player. This season sometimes the patches of good football come during less impactful parts of a match (say in the second quarter instead of the last in a tight contest).

I just want to know the reason for JVR getting dropped? Kicks three and still can't get in without a reason. Too good for VFL.
He is our only player with a kicking efficiency above 50% 😡😡

I am utterly baffled... No Fritsch, no Smith, no reason why we dropped him in the first place...still JVR is not selected 😠

I have them beating Carlton, Sydney, Brisbane, West Coast (all at home) and Hawthorn at the MCG
I have them losing to Collingwood (away), Geelong (away) and Port at home.
12-11 with a 10th place finish.
They could easily lose to Brisbane but I still have them finishing 10th on my ladder predictor regardless of that result.
At the start of the year we would've happily taken a 10th place finish for Freo.
Based on their recent form down at Geelong, I feel it would be more likely for them to beat the Cats. They could easily lose to Carlton and Sydney at home, if both of those teams find some form.

While I'm not as starry eyed as some supporters on JVR yet, you have to feel sorry for the kid. He's basically been taking the number 1 defender for weeks as a 19yo and I think Goodwin has let him down a bit by not playing Brown to take the key defender, which would free JVR up. We bring in Brown and drop JVR when it would have freed him up. I'd much rather JVR than Smith thats for sure. Another season with baffling team selections imo. Anyway....
He's the only fwd and probably player (regardless of position), that is kicking above 50% efficiency at goal, nuff said.

Can someone please summarise the recent noise around Oliver?
From the conspiracy theories about a suspension to now very silly allegations of issues with the coaching staff...
He's now missed 5 - 6 games. I believe you could count with the fingers of one hand the total missed games in his career up until this recent patch of very bad luck.

something new like promoting 3 new blokes from the VFL with success
Or trying Gus in the middle?
or expanding Rivers role?
or trying Petty fwd?
or trying Grundy/Gawn together?
Grundy Gawn has been a failure so far.
JVR was a necessity. TMac and BBB had injury issues.
McVee, I'll give you that.
My point is that we don't look like a team improving. It feels like 2022/2020 all over again.
