My god Sydney nearly choked then. I was dead set certain the pies were going to steal that. I had images of them kicking a goal or receiving a free kick.

But then I think how sweet it is they lost by 1 point & how all there supporters paid outrageous flight prices to travel and now they have to fly, drive, bus or train it home miserable.

But the kicker for me is knowing Jeremy Howe will not get a chance to have a crack at a flag this year and he didn't have a great day

And he won't have in the future, I have the feeling this Collingwood team will digress/Plateau next year. Hopefully they also will have to keep carrying Grundy's contract

Was going to say how do people know what we have left in the cap?

They just assume, but if you are questioning our cap space... What about those of Geelong, Richmond, Carlton? YOY they seem.to chase top tier talent to bring to their already loaded lists... I wonder if they have huge cap space but we don't? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Since when is as an adult, considering the advice, and perhaps also feelings, of your parents when making big life decisions a bad thing (to be clear LT, i know you are not saying it is)?

I wish my 19 year old son would take some of my bloody advice and consider my feelings every now and then!

I hope that at least your soon took your advise to support the Dees! 😎

I am, I reckon some players would be jealous of his ability to win the ball, have three guys all over him and still get a valued possession of to advantage. Also be scragged, held of the ball, deliberately blocked by players who have no intention of getting a kick themselves, just stop using any means fair and unfair!. Thats my take! Player ratings by players amount to a beauty contest!

They will all be more jealous when they see King Clarry 👑 with the Brownlow around his neck come Sunday Night!!

we were much better when ball came in low with Bowza playing as his positioning was so good. Still can't understand why he didn't play finals - was BOG for Casey.

Because Salem and others were 'untouchable'. One of the worst things this season was our coaching staff seemingly rewarding players down on form or hampered with injuries based on their 2021 output.

It works both ways.  We can "poach" players from other clubs too, you know.

I know it works both ways, but still a bit stiff for the clubs (any club nor just the MFC).

I guess we shouldn't draft anyone from interstate or with ties to Geelong then 🤷🏻‍♂️

  7. It looks like many second and third year players are leaving their clubs.

I sometimes wonder, what's the point of the draft then? You invest in a prospect, develop that prospect only to lose it to an interstate competitor?

It really sucks to lose Jackson at age 21,; if you ask me, it can't be good for the league  What if we lose a flag playing against the team that poached a potential star like Jackson?

In our case we took the risk with Jackson and now another team will reap the rewards of having Jackson on their list.

No I will will from me, either.

What we have here is the old double standard that afflicts supporters of every club in the AFL.

Player requests trade to my team:  Legend!  Great decision!  He'll be a champion!  Onya son!  Coup!

Player requests trade from my team:  Boo!  Traitor!  Hope you never win a flag!  Ungrateful!

I guess it's not always the same ... You'd have to look at the context of the situation to be able to determine when a player has done wrong by the club.

I believe the issue with Jackson is that we drafted him and it's been just 3 years, hard not to feel angry about the situation

    Shocked Futurama GIF

One really annoying and IMO unfair thing is this AFL's draft system. Specially when I look at th NBA's or NFL's systems.

Like this example, top talent is drafted by a club and the only guarantee you have is the initial 2 year contract? That's a load of crap for mine! (just like what we are experiencing with Jackson)

What's the point of having good draft picks?

Can't we have at least 5 years guaranteed for round 1 picks?

Meanwhile the Cats can poach talent from around the league as they please... 🤮🤮

I don’t see what the issue is with that. LJ has given us nothing this year. I am starting to think there’s a chance that he may never live up to his potential - so better to cash out now whilst the offers are high. I may eat my words in a few years but we all saw first hand how the Weid fizzled out. If we can get Grundy and a good KPF from the draft then that’s a massive win IMO.

Grundy is a big risk, and we would be doing a favour to the filth.

Wouldn't it be better to transform Weideman into the second ruckman?

Use the assets we get from LJ to look for some other much needed positions? Say a CHF or small forward?

Speed kills on the G and we don't have enough of it. At the game and the Pies are so quick. Also leaving Elliot deep forward makes the Dockers second guess their defensive structure. We need fresh outside legs and fresh ideas in the box as well.

Hunt to the wing? Between Langdon and Hunt we should be pretty quick and explosive on the outside. Use Bowey as a link as well, Trac is explosive from the middle of the ground and kozzy plus Bedford in HF

Why can’t Goodwin play an open Forward Line? It’s the best way to use The MCG

The Filth are just running with the ball, it ain’t hard to work out

With Tracc, Clarry and Viney in the middle I hust don’t understand why we always have a congested Fwd Line

He's got a defensive mindset, kick to a packed pocket so there is less of a chance for opposition to hurt you with turnovers

Might be a few less members next year after our disappointing final series.

It may be a slow start but I hope and expect that if the team shows the high level intensity from 2021 and we have a good start of the season, supporters will come and join!
