Email sent to club members confirm twin reviews taking place in October - an external review of the board and the Shand, Green and Pert review of the men’s program

Jay Clark and Tom Morris have reported that Pert and Green will conduct the review alongside Shand

Disappointed that this isn’t a full external review as initially reported but I do think there are contract and soft cap concerns if we were to make mass changes in our administration (had a fully external review called for this) And at the end of the day it is the FD that is responsible for our on field performance and I’m glad that this will be the primary focus of the review, as for better or worse it is clearly the area that will dictate our performance in 2025 more than any other

I reckon I got more joy watching Higgins kick that goal than I have at just about any Dees game this year 😭

Good point - I’d still love to grab Langford or Lalor at 5, and a player like Lindsay if we can trade for another first round pick But if Langford and Lalor go before 5, and a Smith or O’Sullivan falls to us, Hynes could be a great addition in that mid fwd mould

Langford/Lalor and Lindsay would be the dream if we can nab another first rounder Between them Windsor and Kolt, we will have rejuvenated our younger midfield stocks in two drafts - all would have unique traits from one another too

I wonder if North would consider trading pick 2 for 5 and change if they’re targeting Trainor? I know the top five or six prospects are similarly rated but I’d love to be able to zero in on JT’s highest ranked player if possible (presuming Richmond don’t take him with 1)

I love the idea of Berry if we can grab him with a second rounder Kozzy is the only small forward on our list who can consistently hit the score board while applying elite pressure (Chandler and Spargo more high half forwards) Berry and Kozzie could absolutely cause havoc while also helping our ground ball and ball movement work Plus we may need another long term small forward if god forbid Kozzie leaves 🫣

Whateley is a great commentator - one of the best - but he’s not a reporter anymore and wouldn’t have any further insight into the situation than has been publicly reported by Morris, McClure, Ryan etc And so I find his editorialising of the situation disingenuous as he’s clearly chosen the ‘Trac side’ over the ‘MFC side’ as it makes for a better diatribe for him All that’s to say I wouldn’t be looking to Whateley for actual facts about the situation despite him trying to speak with such authority about it all

They’ll come hard for him when they’re out of finals (which won’t be long) But no way they can get him without offering McKay or TDK up at a minimum, so depends how big of a swing they’re willing to take

Thanks @spirit of norm smith I reckon the VFL could be a great source of players for us as we look to top up, as we can’t simply bring in 6-7 eighteen year olds in the ND and expect to fill all of our list holes Geelong in particular has done a great job in recent years with their late ND, rookie and SSP picks, and I hope we’ve got our eye on a couple of mature age players who might be going under the radar at one of these clubs

I for one will welcome our return to the Sunday 1:10 slot
