Tapping out until I see a Cal Twomey tweet saying he’s requested a trade (I know I’ll be back checking this thread in 15 mins…)

This definitely seems to be the case Not saying that there is anything more than a small chance that Humphrey requests a trade, but it seems like none of the info in the media is coming from us The Steven King appointment was a surprise to everyone, so I’m hoping (PRAYING) we have something up our sleeve that hasn’t been leaked to the media yet

My MFCSS is at an all time high right now, but realistically there’s no way Hawks could put together a package this late in the period given they’re still after Merrett Unless Humphrey came out told them in advance that he’s able to get out, I think we’d be the only feasible trading party

Wasn’t the word that he would be committed to us if a trade could get done?

Just out of curiosity how much impact would a poor manager have on this situation? Surely if Bailey asked his manger to request a trade they couldn’t mess that up - COULD THEY!? 🤣

It’ll be the most Melbourne thing ever if we miss out on Humphrey because his manager is a dud, and then he gets a new manager after the trade period and moves to a Hawthorn next year

The problem is that nobody believes that we’ll take Trac back next year if a deal falls through If GC genuinely believed that, I think they’d be much more amenable to trading Humphrey even if he didn’t formally request a trade That’s not necessarily all Lamb’s fault (as you’ve laid out in your previous posts about Trac and how he’s damaged the club), but it’s clearly a weakness in our negotiating position

This x100 7 and 8 is actually a decent deal for Trac, but it goes against our position of needing a deal that “turns our heads” Once again our comms about our overarching strategy is terrible If this is a fire sale/rebuild - say it, and stop leading supporters on that you’ll hold out for a great deal or Trac and Clarry will come back to the MFC

And again, I just don’t understand why Bailey’s camp isn’t pushing this harder? If he wants to go as much as he obviously does, his manager should be working overtime to make that clear to GC and to leverage the fact that there’s an interested party in the MFC who can actually give GC something of value

That’s true - he’s probably more in the De Goey mould than Petracca The type of player who isn’t likely to get 30+ each week but could get 20 and have maximum impact with each disposal, whether it’s goals or score assists or territory etc God I hope he comes to us 🤣

Yes - reported by Tom Morris and others that he has personal/family issues and wants to come home

The idea is that Humphrey will eventually become a midfielder, and is actually very similar to Trac in terms of how his career is progressing

If he wants to come home so badly that even his friends are going in to bat for him on socials, why doesn’t he formally request a trade already? This is the best opportunity to get home that he’ll have until his contract is up - are we really so unappealing that he’d rather stay miserable at the Suns? 🤣 Come on Bailey!

That’s true And don’t get me wrong - 7 and 8 is a good deal for Trac and I have no doubt JT would pick two high quality players at that range I just wish we could finally get a big fish over the line and it’s frustrating that we seem to have a golden opportunity here to do so, but we can’t convince a guy who obviously wants to come home to push to get out

Well there goes any chance of getting Humphrey We’re clearly not willing to play hardball over Petracca which is incredibly disappointing
