Any ready-to-go player will be a role player not a pea. Even Marlion Pickett, the most successful MSD, is a role player, notwithstanding his GF heroics - I could have got a kick against GWS that day. @Cheesy D. Pun - I think we've got cover for injuries to 2 KPs - of course we'll be weakened and it depends who they are how much that would be - any two of May, Lever and TMac is going to really hurt. But the point is there's just not going to be greater ready-to-go talent out there than Majak and M.Brown. Just to be clear - I wouldn't play either Brown back - TMac and Majak would be first choices to move there and we'd plug the forward gap.

@binman and @george_on_the_outer? Non-believers ...

I think alternating is the way to go and we did get (a reduced) ANZAC Eve this year and will have missed QBW home game 3 years in a row (2019 was Collingwood home game) so they could give it to us next year.
-
Anywhere, anytime has a nice ring to it and I'm glad that Max and the team feel that way. But I'm against playing it at the Gabba - if we play there then a reasonably possible scenario is that we lose and Brisbane makes top 2 because of it and we have to go back there to play them in the finals - not a good outcome. I think Premiership takes care of financial issues and that's what I would prioritise.
-
The financial issue for us is that currently we have ANZAC Eve and QBW both scheduled at home one year and away the next. I thought we were originally scheduled away at both last year but I was wrong - we were scheduled at home for both. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-fixture-2020-full-draw-games-times-venues-for-afl-season-afl-fixture-2020-release-date-announcement/news-story/6fb855a74dddeb2747ce351599c22d47

Seriously, we're not going to get a premiership-ready KPB in the mid-season draft. We've currently got B.Brown, Majak and M.Brown not getting a game who have been with us all season and longer - we're not going to find someone more ready than any of them. We're possibly playing one extra tall in attack at the moment and could go with one less there if necessary too. If crisis struck and we lost 2 talls we would need to shuffle existing resources.

I agree with that but I just don't rate Baker.

Zero MFC vs the Dogs highlights in the AFL site 10 best moments of Round 11.

Looking at AFL Stats Pro Average pressure acts: Weid 7, B.Brown 5.3 Brown is definitely low - maybe that's why he's out of the team. Weid is in reasonable company: J.Kennedy 6.2, Taberner 6.2, J.Cameron 6.8, Hipwood 7.4 Luke Jackson leads the KPF category with 13.8

Tackles of randomly selected KPFs this round so far: Naughton 0, Weid 1, Max King 1, J.Kennedy 1, Hipwood 2, Ben King 2, Hawkins 2

Any loss for WC is good, particularly at Optus.

No it's just his shtick to have some inspiration pre-game yarn. Last versus us it was about some boxer who rose against adversity.
-
Probably gave some inspirational pre-game story about a one-armed nun's heroics during the Spanish flu to fire up his boys.

A fair bit of talk about "only 28 points" but it's worth noting that the Dogs only scored 59. They needed another 50% to win and only scored 2 goals in the 2nd half. It was great that we were able to convert our early dominance into scores. We're very hard to beat from 4 goals up at half time. Marvel Stadium suits our style, it's going to be harder and take even more effort to strangle the Dogs "width" game at the MCG. I think it's good we have them there again this season to refine the style. FWIW I think we will be well suited in Geelong in R23 at that narrow ground.

Let's just accept the illusion of free-will, shall we Dice Man?

I can highly recommend the local St.Agnes range - quality product, incredible value: https://stagnesdistillery.com.au/

https://www.afl.com.au/news/621164/mid-season-draft-check-out-27-of-the-top-contenders This guy looks like the only possible ready-made medium defender, if that's where we think the deficit is. Know anything about him @rpfc? ANGUS BAKER Medium defender 191cm/88kg 3/10/98 Essendon VFL The running half-back trained with Essendon's AFL side in the pre-season in the hope of winning a list spot before the Bombers looked elsewhere. He then signed with the club's VFL team where he has averaged 26 disposals across four games, including a 31-possession outing against North Melbourne last weekend. Formerly part of Sydney's Academy, Baker played NEAFL as a 17-year-old before rupturing his ACL. He later headed to the Canberra Demons, winning the NEAFL Rising Star award in 2019.

I'm a complete novice, I've only had it at good Tapas bars recommended with the food, but it's pretty good stuff. Same for me with Japanese and sake. I think it goes along with your earlier statement that if you get the right stuff it's usually good.

Agree - a good Reposado Tequila is a fine thing. How about the real Spanish sherry OD? I like that stuff.

I prefer Cognac, Armagnac, brandy - there I said it!

No, he should go to the back of the queue for an alternatve vaccine.

Thanks Sandra. It could just be postponed, there's no scheduled match at Docklands on Saturday night or on Sunday. I realise that could upset Channel 7 because they would have a broadcast clash and have the Suns v Hawks and Swans v Blues blockbusters scheduled for broadcast then, but surely that wouldn't be a show stopper. Maybe they could show both matches at the same time on their different channels.

Where's he now?
