  1. Contracts probably similar, both 3rd round compo. Honestly this isn't the kind of thing that gets me worked up ...
  2. Pick 43 is useless based on our trade with Port. Maybe we could use 43 + 27 to inch higher for the Grundy deal, or maybe GWS could do 21 for Bedford + 27. Or maybe a future 3rd.
  3. Almost as bad as Buddy and Frawley ...
  4. If WC could do 2 for 5 & 7 with GC, I'd be happy to take 5 & 26 or 7 & 20 for Jackson.
  5. Brisbane get 35 (522pts) as compensation for McStay, I bet they were hoping for end of first round 19 (942pts) for points.
  6. It's hard to go to the trade and draft at the the same time unless there's a FA you want. Look at Richmond, they're going to wipe out two drafts for Taranto and Hopper.
  7. And JVR and Blake Howes.
  8. WC are just saying this to keep the PSD threat live.
  9. I bet you one billion dollars Jackson doesn't end up at North. It's simply not in play.
  10. Cal and Riley are worth listening to on Trade Exchange at noon if you can put up with the Ads.
  11. I've got F2nd + Bedford to GWS for 21 in my daydreams ....
  12. What do you expect him to say "I'm Jason Taylor's brother-in-law*"? Just accept that @Demons11 has some solid info from an anonymous source. * Likely to become accepted fact on DLand now, sorry ....
  13. GWS are going to have a sh*t load of picks this year with Taranto, Hopper, Bruhn and Hill out. Maybe they'd take our future 2nd + Bedford for 21 and we could on trade 21 to Collingwood for Grundy. That would be a nice deal all around.
  14. BBBP recruited our Premiership Captain
  15. 13 + Logue to North for 8 8 + F1st to us for Jackson + 32
  16. Agree and I think Hunt's $350k into 2025 is the sealer.
  17. I'm on record wanting to keep Toby. With his speed and endurance, if he can overcome his fumbly tendency to spend it before he's got it, then he can become a very good player. And at 21 there's a chance he can. But I don't want to get into a bidding war with GWS who, with Taranto, Hopper, Bruhn and Hill all leaving, can offer him more opportunity. People need to keep perspective, we're losing Jayden and Toby, but we signed Clarrie and Angus. People also need to be realistic on the trade value. We'll get what Collingwood gives GWS for Hill, probably 42, 47 or 48. So it's really only cap and list space unfortunately.
  18. He dominated against Casey towards the end of the season. But I doubt he'd be gettable - he, McDonald and McLean are the logical Buddy and Reid replacements - both of whom let them down at the pointy end this year.
  19. Reads happy to go to WC in Perth. Wonder about Western Sydney?
  20. I agree the time is now and I think with the addition of Grundy, return of TMac and rise of JVR we're OK for tall forward targets over the next two years. There's no better options currently on the market unless you want to offer McStay 6 years. Ideally we'll draft a KPF prospect and line up a big FA or trade for 2025 so we can continue the Dynasty through to the end of the decade.
  21. You might be waiting a while I think. I doubt we're going to change to attacking through the corridor to an open forward line. I think we're doubling down on being stoppage based with the acquisition of Grundy.

2022 Copeland Trophy Top 10 1. Jack Crisp 291 votes (E.W. Copeland Trophy) 2. Scott Pendlebury 276 votes 3. Darcy Moore 269 votes 4. Jeremy Howe 266 votes 5. Steele Sidebottom 265 votes 6. Patrick Lipinski 259 votes 7. Nick Daicos 258 votes 8. Josh Daicos and Brayden Maynard 249 votes 10. Jordan De Goey 231 votes Pendlebury (35yo at the start of next season), Howe (33yo next June) and Sidebottom (32yo at the start of next season) in the top 5. Could be a short lived Collingwood resurgence ...
  23. I really enjoyed watching Jayden play and there was always a spark of excitement when he took off on a run or teamed with Lingers with linking handballs up the wing. I'll miss him in red and blue and wish him all the best in the west. But I think it's the right decision by the club. I think the club has decided that Jayden is not the lock-down defender we need and are going forward with Hibbo and Joel Smith sharing the role over the next two years, with Joel Smith re-contracted with an increased offer over that period to ward off Sydney. Hibbo and Joel will both be cheaper and shorter than Jayden's offer at West Coast. We need to free list spots and salary cap over the next two years and we have a set of fringe players that we don't want to contract beyond that period. Those looking for value in the compensation pick - likely to be 3rd round 51 - will be disappointed but that's not the goal.
