Sydney have 14, 17, 37, 75 and all next year's picks so if they finish the same 17, 36, 55, 73 Doubt we'd get 37 or F2nd, probably F3rd - something like 55 I wouldn't do it for that unless it closed another deal for us.

We could do 13 + 27 for 16 + 41 + Grundy. If the draft is even after the first few we could still get our player at 16, and 41 will come right in after Brisbane's F/Ss and we don't have a 2nd pick until 54.

JHF in contract, LJ out of contract - that's the big difference. North could have just said "see you same time next year Port, when Adelaide won't already be committed to Rankine"

That cannot be right because Port are giving up F1, F2 and F2 and only getting F3 back, so they are still short F2, which was what the AFL refused to approve in the first place. 7 own the rights but know SFA, it's a disgrace.

We completed this trade and got the best deal we could, now moving onto other deals no doubt.

We just need WC to make some sort of competitive bid for Jackson and Freo will up their offer. The spectre of a WC flag with Jackson is too nightmarish for Freo to survive.

Whoa there. You're making way too much sense for this thread. WC 8 + F2 will make Freo sweeten their offer and WC will put it on the table just to stretch Freo if nothing else.

Not sure what our overall strategy is. Tim Lamb said we're only taking two ND picks which currently makes sense with 4 out (Jackson, Bedford, Rosman, Hunt) and 2 in (Grundy and Chandler upgrade). But we only have one useful ND pick at 27 - 54 is not a useful draft pick because we traded out earlier ones on the basis we won't use them. 27 is surely earmarked for the Grundy trade somehow. So we're short 2 2022 ND picks. The Jackson trade is currently only going to produce 13 and (hopefully) some future picks. Not sure where the other 2022 ND pick is coming from? We'd either need to get two from Freo - 13 and one via a Lobb trade with the Dogs, or trade a F1st for a 2022 pick. The other moving part is the Bedford pick, maybe we can trade a F1st to GWS for Bedford and a 2022 1st? A lot to play out ...
