  1. FA Rules
  2. Right here. R.P.F.C. If you need help spelling it. Webber still can't see that the Geelong flag would not have happened and they were easily the best team in the comp - easily. They would have been relegated from Div 1 in 2006 and be in Div 2 in 2007 and the best team would have not won and Geelong wouldn't have broken their duck and Mark Thompson would be coaching Nunawading.
  3. Great... My issue is with the relegation part of it. We are in our window and we have a horror run with injury. We get relegated, and have a year of irrelevance while still being in the top echelon of clubs. What a [Censored] nightmare. Hell, this might be the difference between us actually winning a flag and not... Vote NO on Proposition 64!
  4. Yes it does! That performance in 2006 would have got them relegated. They would have finished at the bottom of Div 1 in 2006 and been relegated. And then the 2007 flag doesn't happen and your grandfather was never born and the Soviets won the Cold War...
  5. Completely forgot! Geelong won from 10th in 2007! So that GF wouldn't have happened because the best two teams that year were from the '2nd Division'!! lol What a stupid idea. The more I think about it, the more I think we got the right Schwab!
  6. Yeah, [censored] off Eagles. I don't know why you are bothering? And I gave the fact of Adelaide in 97 winning the flag. From 12th in 96. Port Adelaide were 12th in 2006 before making the big one in 07. Clubs exist to win flags. They do not exist to play in some mickey mouse league where you are 'biding time' for the following year. And why are we doing this? So we have less irrelevant games in a season?! Hello? Suddenly there are 9 irrelevant clubs from Rd 1!
  7. He is saying "if we don't get the first pick in the draft then Scully isn't worth it." Doesn't hold much water for mine, being pushed back a place is nothing - the talent you are going to get is going to be good anyway...
  8. I know. I was being flippant. As in "enter any star of the game here." I chose Judd because he also went for the Dees as a kid. And that fact makes a world of difference!
  9. Probably Adelaide in '97. But what about the Eagles this year? They might give the top 6 a shake. But wouldn't get the opportunity in this proposed 'diagonal league.' And having a bad run of injuries in 2015 means that you cannot win the flag that year and the next year. That isn't fair, it isn't right, and it isn't going to happen.
  10. Trying to get Franklin is all well and good but why not throw everything at Chris Judd in the next 2 years? He would complete our team and was a Melbourne supporter growing up, like Franklin. He'd offer more to us than Buddy in my opinion.
  11. Half the comp can't win the [Censored] flag?!
  12. $4 dollar whorrific weather we have been having lately, hmmm?
  13. Un-restricted FA definitely favours the bigger clubs, but as the players are 28+ (if we are going with the 7 year restricted, 10 year unrestricted) and that requires a great deal of forward planning by the 'predator' club. NFL and NBA have shorter times for both levels. So the 'predator' clubs will only have those stars for a short time if they manage to get them.
  14. Have a bad run with injuries and you can't win the flag that year, or the next year... Anyone see the problems?
  15. Every league has a problem with irrelevant games. In the EPL it is games between middling sides. In the US it is between non-big market sides. Deal with it. I don't like the idea of a WCE not being able to push the top 6 because they had a bad run with injuries the year before and are in a different [Censored] league...
  16. I'm thinking pretty clearly...
  17. You should read the proposal. VFL not-inlcuded. A second-tier flag? I just saw my breakfast again...
  18. I am very pretty... It's a US term used by sportspeople mainly (and Steve Tyler). Evan Longoria used it a couple years back when his Tampa Bay Rays were one of the youngest teams of all time in the 'post-season' and playing for a franchise that had been a joke since its beginnings. He was asked how his young team is so composed and confident as they took it to the world champs and he said that were not either but "you've got to fake it, until you make it." They eventually beat Boston and made the World Series.
  19. So the answer to about 9 clubs having little hope of winning the flag is to make sure 9 clubs have no hope of winning the flag? Huh?
  20. Mine are at the expense of Newton...
  21. You've got to fake it, until you make it.
  22. We have frontloaded contracts in an attempt to try and get someone next year or when FA comes in. Cam Schwab mentions it all the time.
  23. Why do more teams mean wwe can't do it like we have done?
  24. It's well thought out but it is the bastardisation of US and European sports. NFL conference style fixture with teams playing across divisions, and relegation and one division higher than the other like in the Football leagues of Europe. It's a strange 'diagonal league' that makes me cringe when I think of it really. I hate it.
  25. I am of two minds on this because I like the arrogance. Love it in fact. But is it the right type of player, at the right time? I would say, go for it. Stars are stars.
