Casey Demons v Box Hill Hawks - Round 6
picket fence replied to WERRIDEE's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah well 35 years ago things were very different, worse thing was that it was a practice match that didn't have an official umpire! -
Sheeeit Thanks for setting me straight ! I thought I was watching Star Wars and Jabda the Hutt and had my channels had somehow discombobulated!

I got the worst broken nose in History against parkside once, got the Footy set sail for goal kicked it was in to celebration mode and then... The lights went out! Surgeon said the worst break he'd seen. Sheeeeit was I a mess! ? Parkside... Thuggery personified! -
Anything other than a 10 goal Win will be unacceptable! Time for us to BURY a team for a change!!

Hey Pineapple, I did just exactly that when I was up there visiting relatives and watched the Brisbane game! Agree with Cairns venue. Tell you what you will find a few Dees supporters sharing a frothy with you at the Central! Also the regular Cane toad races are Huge next door!! Enjoy! PF

Not talking at the moment come finals what would you prefer?? -
Forget the Hype, The greatest mistake was Jesse's smart arse Aloof shot at goal from the free kick! Should have gone with set shot routine, rather than fancy around the corner extravagant efforts! I don't have to remind anyone that we missed out on finals by barest of margins! So lets get serious and nail those goals!

Bayley Fritsch reminds me a lot of Tom Flower in the way he plays the game. For those not in the know Tom played 26 games between 1977 and 1979 for 28 goals He kicked 5 against Collingwood from a HFF in a BOG Performance He, like Bayley was a dead eye kick for goal, a left footer, will of the wisp type with a laconic time on his side classy type player. He could also take a mark. Should have played more but Carl had other ideas. His AFL ( Then VFL) record for games played stats wise was very impressive. As I said there are some uncanny similarities. Hopefully Bayley will continue to flourish!

I Pity his family, as the law states innocent till proven guilty! Just really sad and as I said feel for his family! Hopeful of a positive lining to a darkening thread! Footy deserves it! And FAMILY Just sayin -
Weeds has got attitude, hits contests hard, is a team player and if we are ever to win big finals as his two "Clunked" marks in contested situations are musts in finals footy!! Must be persevered with. What else he offers is a TALL mobile forward line of Hogan , Mc Donald and himself and with excellent mid height forwards around him Fritsch, Hannan Melksham et all makes us very hard to match up with. A KEEPER!
