  1. I’m pretty sure Farmer got booed the 4 times he played us at the G. He was not all popular with the faithful with his decision to leave. One game he kicked 7 against us in a win over us.
  2. Probably not but the art of good footy tipping is sniffing out a realistic update. One thing for sure is that Hawrthorn are a step up in class from North and West Coast and are largely injury free aside from a couple of best 22. An under the radar upset could be Suns beating Dogs in Darwin.
  3. Expecting Jeremy Howe type boos. Nothing over the top but still enough to hear through the TV. Agree that the Baker booing was embarrassing. The guy was (probably justifiably) way down the pecking order and we delisted him accordingly. Then the Dogs kept his AFL dream alive.
  4. No. I didn't boo Scully in 2012 so I would be a hypocrite if I booed Jackson. And the louder the boos, the better he'll probably play. With that being said, and after listening to Alan Richardson on SEN, it genuinely sounded like he deceived the club when he was granted mid season leave. I'd expect the booing will be somewhere between Peter Walsh (ie nothing) to Tom Scully (extreme) on the Richter scale of booing.
  5. I also think T Mac survives. Remember it was he that slotted that tremendous 50 metre goal in the driving rain at the 18 minute mark of the last quarter when none of the others could hit the side of the barn. A two goal game was a serviceable performance. If our forward line stinks the joint up on Saturday, then Smith will probably get a chance as and we'll continue to bemoan Petty's absence. That will be the 7th different combination of key forward in 12 weeks.
  6. They sound hopeful more than confident. I haven't heard any other group of supporters talk up Hunter like they did.
  7. I reckon JVR and Chandler are one more quiet game away from getting dropped, if they aren't dropped this week. Chandler was tremendous through to the North game (aside from the Brisbane and Essendon losses) but his output and influence has waned significantly since the GC game. I was surprised he had as many as 13 touches and 5 tackles last week, which should at least see him selected this week. JVR is only having cameo moments and he had a really poor game last week. I could live with a 10 possession/2 mark performance given his inexperience but it was the costly free kicks he gave away. I would consider BBB for JVR on the hope that he's one of those players that plays better at AFL level due to the better service on offer. On the other hand, perhaps he's genuinely cooked as an AFL player, and both parties might have to have a chat before he goes on for next season.
  8. Hopefully the 4 weeks includes the bye, and then back for Geelong on 22 June.
  9. The bureau can't even get tomorrow morning correct, so I'm sure that forecast is subject to change. I don't think it's rained on a Dees V Pies Queens/Kings Birthday game for years. It's often a mild 15/16 degree day.
  10. The AFL members will absolutely show up. It's essentially the Collingwood reserve these days and they almost packed it out against Sydney a few weeks back. It's already a sell out in the AFL members. I think there is more of a chance of the AFL members being full than the MCC.
  11. Got one of the last seats in the AFL Collingwood reserve. Going to essentially be an interstate game in that area.
  12. There's sell outs and then there are sell outs. Will this be a Dreamtime 78,500 sell out or a genuine 95,000 Anzac Day type sell out?
  13. The language is really confusing in regards to his hammy. In Goody's presser today, on the one hand he confirms it's only a minor strain, but then he says "we hope it's not long term but we'll just have to wait and see." Would be a lot more comforting if he was listed as 3-4 weeks as opposed to indefinite.
  14. Freo’s start to the season was a false economy. They’re a top 8 side that was masquerading as a bottom 4 side. I can see them replacing Adelaide in the top 8 come seasons end.
  15. Is there an offical explanation as to why Jack Steele’s incident was deemed as low impact while Hunter’s was deemed medium when both victims went on their merry way after the respective incidents? We should’ve admitted guilt but attempted to downgrade the impact from medium to low. Thus he could’ve gotten a fine not a suspension.
  16. With injuries starting to mount, may I request that the boys have a week off from MRP activity into the Carlton game.
  17. Why was the contact deemed as medium when Rozee got straight up, got 8 coaches votes, and ended up kicking the winning goal? He didn’t seem too inconvenienced by the incident.
  18. Agree with Jordon. In his debut against Fremantle in 2021, he played some minutes inside from memory, played well and kicked a goal. Surprised he only got 15 touches in that game but he's a dependable player that can be assigned a job anywhere. Will be stunned if he's sub or VFL this week given we have Oliver and Hunter's role to replace.
  19. Good point. Depends on their appetite for risk but it is handy that we played the first game of round 10 and the play the last game of round 13.
  20. Get on the 105% return that Richmond are paying on Sunday if Hardwick gets a farewell game.
  21. I assume we're trying to argue the contact classification down from medium to low as opposed to arguing that the incident should not have been a reportable offence in the first place. The victim couldn't have been too impacted by the incident given he had 31 possession, kicked the winning goal and would've clearly gotten 3 Brownlow votes had Z Butters not played the game of his life.
  22. Dare I take this as a good sign that it's a minor 1-2 week injury and he'll back for Kings B'day??
  23. I'm also hearing there might be a retrospective MRP finding involving Jeff White from the 2005 finals series. The charge may involve Jeff White missing weeks for his jaw making contact with Steven King's foot which left the innocent King with a slightly sore foot as he kicked White in the jaw. More details to be released as the day unfolds.
  24. The only silver lining here is the bye. If it's a 4 week hammy, he'll only miss 3 matches plus the bye in round 14. If it's a 3 week hammy, he'll miss 3 matches but have an extra 'bonus' week to let it heal and be cherry ripe for Geelong. But yeah, losing your best midfielder is far from ideal. Look at Dangerfield and Geelong. Geelong were flying (albeit against mostly poorer opposition) until his hammy and then they lose winnable games without him.
