Neville Jetta
Lucky he was brought back for that round 23 game against the Doggies, 2 years ago at Etihad. Played well in defense and obviously caught the eye of Roos at the time.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Agree. And would be disappointing if we lost both Howe and Garland in the one off season. Could live with losing one due to the potential compensation in return but not both.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
First time we've won a round 16 game since 2004 - v's Western Bulldogs at Etihad.

What happened to him last night? As far as I know he played out the game and will be available for selection next week.

Demon Cheersquad, Late 80's
Apparently his name is Darren Hockey. Is reported to have got married at a pizza hut on the morning of a game and then attended an MFC game that afternoon. He was quoted in the below age article, re: Jimmy's funeral. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/all-a-bad-dream-widow-farewells-jim-stynes-at-emotional-melbourne-funeral-20120326-1vvf1.html Darren 'Hocko' Hocking, a Melbourne Football Club cheer squad member for 35 years, stood with his 12-year-old son Stewart waving goodbye to Stynes with two giant handmade Melbourne flags. "He was the spirit of football itself," Mr Hocking said. Mr Hocking, who had gone to Federation Square with his son, wife Elizabeth and nine-year-old daughter Brooke, said he had seen Stynes' first game of football with Melbourne. "He's made mistakes, corrected them then took us out of debt so we can carry on and that's what we're going to do," he said. "He is a great loss but he's given us a new vitalisation so that hopefully in a few years we can finally win a grand final."

Someone actually purchased that jacket?

Demon Cheersquad, Late 80's
Wasn't that guy named Hocko? I think he was in the cheersquad until the late 90's or early 2000s. Then he appeared to have his own smaller unoffical cheersquad in the olympic stand pocket. I haven't seem him at the footy for years.

The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan
This from Wayne Carey this morning: When Hogan was lining up for one of his three goals against the Doggies last week, rival skipper Robert Murphy was apparently doing his best to put him off by screaming "You can't miss this, you're Melbourne's great white hope". Indeed, in his 16th season, Murphy probably had every reason to believe that sledging a first-year player might work. Which is why Hogan's response, after kicking the goal, is truly priceless. "And there's your great white hope," he retorted, pointing to Tom Boyd, who was sitting on the Dogs' bench at the time.

Not sure to laugh or be offended?

Aaron vandenBerg
I must admit I wanted them to re-rookie Tappscott rather take the punt on Vandenberg. Can someone please put the humble pie in the oven for me, 25 minutes at 180.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
The four records I can possibly see being broken this season. 1) Beating St.Kilda. We play them twice and while I doubt we'll beat them at Etihad, I would sincerely hope we could at least beat them at the G. 2) winning 2 in a row. We have a friendly fortnight in rounds 16 and 17, when we play Brisbane and St Kilda at the G. Both appear winnable on paper. 3) beating Collingwood. We play them twice, and given that the Pies are in re-build mode, we could beat them if we get them an off day. 4) winning at Etihad. While I can't see us beating the dogs in rd 20 and GWS in rd 23, we do play St Kilda at Etihad in rd 11, which could be winnable, depending on if St Kilda fall away by then.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Everyone's talking about Sylivia like he's a washed up has been. Last time I checked he's on the list of a top 4 contender, with the aim of playing 22 games plus finals next year.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Any chance we overlook Petracca should he be available? For instance we we go: Pick 2- Brayshaw Pick 3- Lever, Pickett or De Goey Leaving GWS with the man they so desperately wanted in trade week- Christian Petracca.

sauce?

Dayne Beams
Is Beams really that bad a bloke? Yes, he may have had some off-field issues at Collingwood, but as far as I know he's doesn't have a criminal record and has never been suspended on-field. I'll happily offer pick 3 and 12 for Beams and 48. I'll take an elite goal-kicking midfield to go with Jones and Tyson thanks. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at GWS to be with his best mate Shaw.

Maginificent post.

Tom McDonald?
Given Frawley's gone, we may as well hand our licence back to the AFL if McDonald leaves the club.
-
Jeff 'Wiz' Farmer
And don't forget the amazing 8 goals he kicked in the prelim final v's North Melbourne in 2000. Who else has bagged 8 in a prelim in recent memory?

Jeff 'Wiz' Farmer
I could've sworn I saw the Wiz on the weekend V's the Dogs. He was that skinny kid wearing the long sleeve 33 jumper.

Anyone know when Tyson's contract expires?
