Temporarily Hopeful Demon

It's amazing how little this guy gets recognised by the broader football community. I've rarely seen a second year player show as much poise and composure as he does. I'm predicting him and Rivers to be our two best players in a few years' time.

Huge win! Last 5-10 minutes aside we were easily the better team tonight. To do that without our two best players was massive. My personal standouts were Rivers and Langdon. Rivers looks set to be a gun midfielder. There barely seems to be a weakness in his game. Langdon easily had his best game in two years. He seemed to be on the decline early in the year but he's gradually returning to his old self. Onwards and upwards! We're 10-7 and 6th, anything can happen from here.

Very reminiscent of our second quarter against Brisbane two weeks ago. Let's just hope we maintain it this time. Rivers is literally the complete package as a midfielder. Tough, quick, dynamic and a powerful kick. Love him.

Love the guy. Genuinely the most watchable player on our list when on song.

JVR seems to be gradually breaking out. His form since King's Birthday has been very promising. Should have kicked 7 today.

Great quarter! Our opposition isn't much chop but it's refreshing to see us play with dare for a change. The best part is that our youngsters (Windsor, Tholstrup, Kozzie and JVR) are on song.

Oliver has looked as good as he has in a long time. He's moving a lot better.

Nowhere near it

I'm not suggesting that any of us are 'helping.' My point was that I would've assumed that we're well past the stage where we can accept [censored] performances like today if enough 'effort' was there. And FWIW, I thought our effort today sucked. We look disinterested and worn out.

Excusing a loss based on 'effort' the week after a 90 point thumping is literally Bailey/Neeld era stuff.

Tmac can hold his head high. Been excellent today.

Our midfield is second rate at the moment. Oliver has fallen off a cliff, Viney is a shell of what he was last year, and Sparrow is just BOG ordinary. And don't get me started on our forwardline. It's all looking really grim right now.

Last 5 minutes were annoying but that was a solid win overall. We moved the ball much quicker which was good to see. Gawn was unreal. His tapwork was as good as it's been in years. A big shout out to Tmac as well. He's been outstanding this year.

In some ways Kozzie is having his best season to date. His quiet games have been far less frequent this year.
