After the Trade Week from Hell when I thought we would lose our beloved Trac it was so great to see him burst through the first center clearance. 33 Possessions and 9 Clearances. Welcome Back Trac.

Great to have you boys back for another stellar season of podcasting. We had a plethora of notable absentees for the match against North who will no doubt, if fit, be available for the Freo practice match and Round 1. They are as follows: Caleb Windsor, Jack Viney, Steven May, Christian Salem, Christian Petracca, Charlie Spargo, Max Gawn, Ed Langdon & Bayley Fritsch. Other notable absentees are Judd McVee (hamstring), Koltyn Tholstrup (bone stress), Jake Melksham (hamstring) who all will miss the early parts of the season. Andy Moniz-Wakefield (ACL) & Shane McAdam (Achilles) are out for the season and we're waiting on news about Marty Hore's hand surgery prognosis but it is likely that he will miss a number of weeks. Of the players that were absent for the Kangaroos Match SIM and are fit and are likely to play Round 1 who will they be replacing in the side that took on North?

Once again we did not adjust or handle the wet conditions as well as our opponents. We could not keep out feet and the ball was once again soap in our hands. Collingwood did not have as many issues with the wet conditions as we did. Very frustrating to watch.

Fantastic news. Well timed too to send a message. He could walk away from his AFL career with 10 All Australians.

I can’t imagine any scenario where Viney would desert the Dees. He is the heart and soul of this club and if he left it would be soul crushing to the fabric of this club.

Really impressed with Marty Hore the last couple of weeks. I thought he was doing ok before getting injured early in the year too. What’s his contract status going into next season?

I’d love to snuff out any chance of the Filth making finals. This is our Grand Final now.

Now that finals are out of our reach do we bite the bullet and play whatever kids we have in the 2s and give them a taste of seniors before next season? Surely we have salvage something out of this season for next season and finish as low as possible to get a better draft hand and fixture in 2025.

I'm not convinced Max was 100% fit. We obviously rushed him back due to the predicament that we find ourselves in but Max clearly was not over his injury and it showed.

I have grave concerns about the efforts of Bayley Fritsch. He goes missing for large chunks of the game. Plays behind his man. Doesn’t chase. Isn’t providing a target. He’s not the only culprit.

Surely the Petty up forward experiment is over. Swap him with TMac. Leave TMac forward and either send Petty down back or send him to Casey to work on his forward craft.

A welcome return to JVR this week. We really missed him last week. Our forward line functions so much better with him in it. I really wish he didn't have to do so much relief rucking on top of it.

@binman you've been telling us for a long time that our one wood is scores from turnovers. I don't have the final stats in front of me front of me but at half time we hadn't scored from turnover. Any thoughts on why we struggled in this area this week?

Umpires absolutely murdered us in the first half. 11-3. Frees evened up throughout the rest of the match but the were some horrible non-decisions that killed us.

Any thoughts on who could be the sub based on training today?

Was that story true? Did you have an encounter with the Derm?

I listen to the podcast in chunks. Some of it on my commute to work and the rest of it when I walk the dog. The more Dees content that I can consume the better. It could be an hour longer in my books.
