There is no way he escapes with a fine. He will get a week. It may be low impact but it's the lifting of the elbow for mine. No way he gets off. Was a silly thing for him to do. I like his toughness and hardness but that aspect of his game needs to go in the bin. We can't afford to have him missing for massive games like the one coming up.

The Pod has gone to another level this season gents. How magnificent & gusty was Steven May in the first quarter with those 3 intercept marks? Were you a little worried after the first one or two when he pulled up a little gingerly? I really hope we didn't bring him back in too soon from what looks like a painful injury and it potentially has long term implications.

Kozzy will definitely get a week and I'd like to see Kolt be given a call up. I don't think that role should go to Woey or Laurie.

Possibly one of the worst umpired games I have seen in a Dees game in a long time. All my non-Dees work colleagues this morning agreed that we were absolutely robbed. Happy to take away the W from both games particularly in the 2nd one off a 5 day break. We looked flat at times but rallied when the game needed to be put to bed.

Saw this post on Twitter after the game. It reads: So big shoutout to Jason Taylor. He really can find diamonds in the rough.

The injuries to May and Lever can be somewhat covered in the short term. The spanner that these injuries throw into the works is in our forward line. We obviously had a plan with playing Petty in the forward line to give Ben Brown a chop out in the next few weeks especially with the 5 day break between the Port and Crows games. What happens to the plans to manage and nurse Ben Brown through the next few weeks with Petty going down back? Do we bring Fullarton in? Does Tommo come in and either Petty or TMac go forward? Interesting times. Hopefully everyone is well drilled in the systems for there to be minimal disruptions during this crisis.

Welcome back to the MCG King Clarry!!! How good was that standing ovation that he received? I legit had tears welling in my eyes. Loved that he did the team thing and passed the ball off but I so wanted him to have a ping at goal. It would have brought the stands down. Love Clarry.

I'll second getting Tholstrup in. Good match do bring him in.

This website's profanity filter cannot handle what I have to say to Geelong about this.

Kozzy in for Laurie Petty/Fullarton in for Schache Hore in for Bowey I would like to see K Brown Dog in for Spargo but I don't think Goody will drop Spargo or make this many changes.

Thanks again for another great podcast. Listened on my long commute too and from work today. Sat in the driveway at home to finish it off. Wife wasn't impressed. The doggo didn't seem to mind and the cat was indifferent.

Why are we not in the conversation for JUH? Hawks, Pies, Tigers, Dons and Swans all circling. Why the heck aren't we throwing the kitchen sink in the ring. Petty is likely to leave. TMac and BBB on the brink of retirement. Gus forced out of the game. We will have plenty of room in the cap. Go out and get Jamarra Ugle-Hagan!!!

We never seem to play well in hot and humid conditions. We don’t seem to adapt to using a slippery footy and we had butterfingers all night. The Sydney players didn’t have the same issues. Time to get a hose and some soap out on the training track when playing in these conditions.

Very happy with the way we zoned in defence an were able to play tempo footy when needed. It was the mirror image of the way we played the Match Simulation against the Tigers. Playing Devil's Advocate here but were there any concerns that we still gave up their 3 goals apiece to their two key forwards in Curnow and McKay, the latter could have kicked 5 if he knew how to kick. Granted they're both Coleman Medalists and granted our defence shut down any other scoring opportunities and kept them to under 70 points.

Practice Match aside, What are your thoughts and feelings about conceding 10 unanswered goals in perfect conditions? Should we be worried?

It would be nice if the MFC could release a similar squad list for the supporters or even update us on our injuries. Why do other clubs do this so much better than us?
-
I'm keen to see where Brayshaw plays. Mid or defence? I would love it if Riv gets some more midfield minutes but reports from training in the past few weeks suggest he will be played off halfback. Will Judd be given the coveted role on Dusty? Who will take the Hibberd role? Footys almost back!!!1

Having two premier ruckman on your list; what could go wrong?

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 24th January 2024
Bigfoot replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks for the training updates guys. -
Great to have you fellas back. It's been a long few months and the season didn't pan out the way we all hope. Looking back at another disastrous straight sets finals exit what do you think ultimately went wrong for us? Not so sure we can blame it on injuries like 2022. For me it was our poor delivery into our forward line and poor execution in front of the big sticks. If we don't fix these two things in 2024 we will not be making another preliminary final let alone a Grand Final or Flag.
