  1. I assume the reason stated above by dazzle is the reason that he was considering the move back to Victoria to begin with. Without wanting to sound insensitive but perhaps the urgency around the situation is no longer required. Thoughts and prayers to Luke, his girlfriend and her family. Rest in Peace.
  2. I was petrified that our young inexperienced defence sans May and Lever would get slaughtered by the Dogs who have piled on some big scores and thrashed a lot of team but I thought that our guys held up pretty well. Was impressed with a couple of things that Adams did and hope that he gets to play in the last few games but I fear he will be the one to go out for May this week. At least he will get a taste of finals at Casey. Howes too did a few nice things in the limited game time that he had and that goal was a ripper under pressure from a decent way out.
  3. I have always appreciated his commentary since leaving the Pies.
  4. This is Chaplin's audition for any future coaching gig. Please don't be a Goody clone. Try something new and different and out of the box. I would love to put a dent in some of these final's fancies hopes.
  5. Thank you Simon for the memories and all the time and effort you put in. I think it was time and the right decision was made to move on. Now let's hope the right decision is made for a replacement.
  6. This close to finals with finals on the line there will be no suspensions that impact teams in contention.
  7. Longmire does not sound like he wants to coach next year. My money is on Carlton knowing this and wanting him and are willing to wait hence why they are keeping Voss. Why pay him out when you know you can get your man at the end of next year. I have no inside info. Just a hunch.
  8. The colliwobbles are back BABY!!!
  9. Jake Melksham is having an incredible purple patch. He has kicked 14 goals 8 in the past 3 weeks. I read that the last time a Demon kicked 4 goals or more in 3 consecutive games was David Neitz in 2006. He's our most inform consistent forward at the moment. Give Jake another season!!!
  10. How immense was Max Gawn in those last five minutes. Those couple of contest marks were crucial to stopping any comeback by the Lions. We are so blessed to have such a courageous leader.
  11. Why can’t we win these close games against GWS. In our last 3 games against the Giants we’ve lost by 3 points, 2 points and 2 points. In fact why can’t we hold on in these close matches. It’s infuriating.
  12. After the Trade Week from Hell when I thought we would lose our beloved Trac it was so great to see him burst through the first center clearance. 33 Possessions and 9 Clearances. Welcome Back Trac.
  13. Great to have you boys back for another stellar season of podcasting. We had a plethora of notable absentees for the match against North who will no doubt, if fit, be available for the Freo practice match and Round 1. They are as follows: Caleb Windsor, Jack Viney, Steven May, Christian Salem, Christian Petracca, Charlie Spargo, Max Gawn, Ed Langdon & Bayley Fritsch. Other notable absentees are Judd McVee (hamstring), Koltyn Tholstrup (bone stress), Jake Melksham (hamstring) who all will miss the early parts of the season. Andy Moniz-Wakefield (ACL) & Shane McAdam (Achilles) are out for the season and we're waiting on news about Marty Hore's hand surgery prognosis but it is likely that he will miss a number of weeks. Of the players that were absent for the Kangaroos Match SIM and are fit and are likely to play Round 1 who will they be replacing in the side that took on North?
  14. Waiting for the next Doomsday DL Thread ... "Will Trac Be Able to Find Pre-Injury Form?"
  15. EXTERNAL REVIEW NOW. EVERY POSITION AT THE CLUB. TOP TO BOTTOM. I'M LIVID. sorry for shouting
  16. It's not so much about what do we want her to say now it's about what she should have been doing either while Trac was injured or picking the phone up and talking with him in the last 2 weeks since this blew up. He's one of our most important players and as the leader of our club she hasn't either bothered to speak with him or worse he won't speak to her. Our leaders have absolutely failed ever single member. We must demand change.
  17. Once again we did not adjust or handle the wet conditions as well as our opponents. We could not keep out feet and the ball was once again soap in our hands. Collingwood did not have as many issues with the wet conditions as we did. Very frustrating to watch.
  18. It seems there was a significant miscommunication surrounding Trac's prolonged absence from the team, and pinpointing exactly where the fault lies is challenging. It's likely that there were breakdowns in communication across various parties involved. What is clear, however, is that Trac was given time away from the club to recover, which is entirely fair and understandable considering the circumstances. While the club was undoubtedly aware of the physical toll on Trac, they might not have fully grasped the mental challenges he was facing as a result of the incident. One would assume that the players were informed of Trac's leave, but perhaps they were not aware of the duration or the depth of his mental struggles. It's reasonable to think that some of the players may have tried to stay in touch with Trac, likely reaching out via text. If Trac wasn’t responding, possibly because he was grappling with the mental aspects of his situation, it’s easy to see how concerns could have arisen among the players. When they aren't receiving responses to their messages but then see him active on social media, posting cooking videos on TikTok and Instagram, it might have raised questions like, "Where is Trac?" This lack of communication seems to have been confirmed by reports from training sessions where Trac was overheard apologizing to people at the club for not replying to their texts. This suggests that either Trac was feeling overwhelmed and disconnected, or that there was a broader issue of the players not checking in on him, leading to feelings of isolation on Trac's part. Jake Lever’s comments about players asking, "Where is Trac?" indicate that either they hadn’t reached out to him or hadn’t received any responses, and perhaps the club had not adequately communicated with the team about Trac's situation or the length of his absence. While confidentiality issues between Trac and the club (as mentioned by Jake Lever in the interview) may have complicated matters, surely there could have been a way for the club to update the playing group without breaching any confidential agreements. The situation involves numerous variables, and much of this is speculation, but the root cause seems to be a breakdown in communication on several levels. Moving forward, it’s crucial that everyone involved gets together to address these issues and ensure that such miscommunications don’t occur again. The hope is that relationships can be repaired and that the club can improve in more than just communication, evolving into a more professional and supportive environment for all its players.
  19. Fantastic news. Well timed too to send a message. He could walk away from his AFL career with 10 All Australians.
  20. Agree they need to sort this situation out but this episode has blown any opportunity for him to be a future captain of this club to smitherines. Captains don’t act like pirates unless they’re this guy.
  21. Carlton’s first round picks this year and next are basically useless as they will be late first round draft picks. If he wants to go to a “big” club then it has to be a [censored] team with high drafts pick currency. And a Top 5 player.
  22. I can’t imagine any scenario where Viney would desert the Dees. He is the heart and soul of this club and if he left it would be soul crushing to the fabric of this club.
  23. I’ve gotta agree with the consensus that Trac not traveling with the team in what seems to have been a team bonding exercise and to show the camaraderie of the group speaks volumes. Very disappointing and very depressing. I hope fences can be mended and that change will come from this.
  24. Really impressed with Marty Hore the last couple of weeks. I thought he was doing ok before getting injured early in the year too. What’s his contract status going into next season?
