Living across the road from Casey Fields and obviously getting the local paper. i am pretty sure it would be a permanent summer training base... As was stated on the front page of the local paper, a few people from the mfc and the local council had dinner/meeting at the venue during the week to nut out a few things. The council will be spending a few bucks (at the rate payers expense of course) on upgrading the facilities for the dees to base themselves there... i don't know this for sure but i would be pretty surprised if the dees were only using it short term and the council was going to fork out big bucks... Look up the article under cranbourne news if you like and see what you reckon...(local journalism from a pimply faced kid at its best)

I would think that the air travel to Brisbane might have had somehing to do with him not playin for the dees and Sandy instead?? i remember players like Hird, Al Lynch not travellin due to hammy problems. i could be wrong though

Valenti must be given a crack at playin for the dees. We are 0-5 so far so nothing is workin yet. Hopefully the selection panel will bite the bullet and give some of these kids a crack. In particular Valenti, Maric, Spencer and Martin. Really, what is there to lose!!!!

Make it 8844. Bought mine today. 1 for me as usual 1 for my son (who is 5 and i have brainwashed to remember all the players by numbers) 1 each for niece and nephew for xmas as always. With what the roos are going thru. Hopefully people get on board so we are never in that position (AGAIN!!!!)

As long as we stick to 1 captain only... Can't stand how these other teams have rotational or multiple captains. Such a cop out... It would be like having 3 captains in the aussie test team. A joke. The captaincy should be sacred. One man only. It is an honoured position where 21 other men look to 1 man for leadership. Leadership groups are great but leave the captaincy alone. I personally hope Neitz does 1 more year in such a big year for the club. They need his experience. New coach, new players, celebrating 150 years. The spotlight will be on us. McLean to do it after that though. He is the obvious choice. Not scared to voice his opinion and i suspect wears his heart on his sleeve. Would put his body on the line for the team no doubt. Thats what you want in a skipper, especially with the reputation we seem to be getting (amongst my mates anyway :angry: ) See how he goes this year though...

Not sure why people are so negative about this in the press. I would'nt have given cornes the time of day on this. This match will be fantastic especially if big names dont pull out. Really do hope that some dees players are involved. <_<

Hey guys, was wondering to myself if there was a supporter group in the casey area? Have been a member for few years now and have never heard of any around. A bloke from work is a tiger member and he runs a supporter group for them and on friday he had a bbq at his house with 8 tiger players in attendance plus flea. Thought to myself what a great idea to have these sort of things. I know if i took my kids to one i would never hear the end of it. What a thrill for them. Does anyone know of a group in this area?? Would love to involve my kids in this sort of thing....They are getting a bit older now and undertand more. The club were great this year in allowing the kids to be on the ground during neitz's 300th. My kids loved it. Let me know if anyone knows or is associated in one around here. Cheers

I think Melbourne would be crazy to not take Sampi. The guy can play. Yeah, he might not be slim and teriffic at the moment and he might not have played at all last year. But he is only 23 (i think) and worth another shot. Give the guy a go. He has talent to burn and he would definitely add to our forward line. Marric wont play much next year so why not. After all he is not going to cost us too much as he has stated he would play for minimum salary.

A sad day for footy in general. He will never learn.... <_< It would be a bit unfair on WCE to sanction them on this one. There is not a lot they can do about a players actions while he is on a break. They just have to clean up the mess unfortunately. Perhaps the only thing they could've done is hired 24hour security He would most definitely be sacked now. It would be a brave footy club that picked him up if he was to play on. I hope its not us. You blokes are unreal.... first it was Robbo, then Miller, then Jamar, then TJ, now Green...anyone else you want to get rid of Bode, Garland. Just kidding... There is no way we would get a first round pick for Green or TJ. Unless your Chris Judd clubs would be relucatant to trade off there first round picks these days for players that are over 22-23.... Not for those type of players anyway

Yeah good ruckman are hard to find... and if we passed on Meesen who was a first round draft pick we would be insane. But apart from that what else can we do. In reality there arent that many first class players that are going to be available next week in the trade. Apart from Judd who else??? And we aint goin to get him. Like the players that have been named above (apart from 'Moloney' Jerry) Trading for 'senior' experienced players just aint working out. So unless we can get someone really worth while we just have to go with kids. Going on the past i wouldnt be surprised if we took Whitnall and gave away pick 20 for him...LOL

I was far from having a shot at Moloney. He is an integral part of the team when firing... I am merely stating that i think the club should maybe head in a different direction. Draft kids and build a new era. But i do stand by the fact that the drafting of "established" players, whether they be good or not is just not working out for the dees unfortunately. So why not try something new Besides... my son would kill me if i bagged Moloney

Jamar to go home to SA. I dont think Johnson will cut it either. Pick up Meesen for Jamar would be good swap (we throw in late draft pick maybe?). Adelaide will be surely looking for back up ruckman after losing 2.

hopefully the dees trade a few players (eg - Jamar, Miller, TJ, ) for some draft picks and just use them solely for kids in the draft (with the exception of Meesen). My opinion only but we have a lot of older players on the list now that will finish in the next couple of years so maybe it is a good time to stock up on kids and start rebuilding. It has done Hawthorn and Port no harm at all. Bailey could start a new era of no-nonsense footy and get the kids playing his way. In the past we have topped up with players like Moloney and Pickett thinking that they will be the key to a certain extent. "Cream on top of our glorious list" Well it is obviously not working so bite the bullet and draft kids only for next 2 and see how we go. Something different for once instead of looking for a quick fix. we already have some great talent like McLean, bate, jones, Rivers, Newton, Sylvia. They have plenty left in them so lets start adding to them......Thoughts???

Ur rite DEE-VOTED. Carlton have basically cheated in a way. But stuff them.... They will never be good anyway. They will have to give up way to much for Judd. I think the draft shoulb be a lottery between the bottom 4 teams. Try to keep it reasonably even. Havin a lottery between the bottom 8 teams would be a little unfair on the bottom team if they won 5 games as opposed to the team that finished 9th who won 11 or 12 games but missed out on percentage. It defeats the purpose really... But they need to scrap the priority pick in the national draft. It encourages the acceptance of mediocrity. Carlton fans were stoked there team were losing knowing what was at stake. Maybe they can have a priority pick in the pre season draft for an un contracted player. The point being that they still have to be able to afford 2 un contracted players. That would slow down there ability to pay top dollar for just 1 player and if they were fair dinkum they would try to gain 2 players at a reasonable price. Thoughts???...
