Looking for a strong, fast start. We know Dees have been finishing matches strongly, but too much left to do in matches we've lost from poor starts. Looking forward to McAdam's first game for the mighty Dees! ❤️💙

I'd like to see - in: BBB and Kolt. Go smaller with focus on forward half pressure. Trac CHF for most of game, Rivers and Salem rotate thru centre bounces.

It worked well at the start and I believe the Dees adapted the best to this rule when it was first introduced. I found the change to allow the player to be on 'mark' outside 5 metres has clogged it up again. The player now can move around to take space for short kicks and it reduces players running past to get handball receives and forward-over-the-mark handballs that generates speed on movement. I don't really care personally but just an observation as this goes against what AFL wants - less congestion.

If I remember correctly, Rivers played mostly midfield last time we played them and absolutely nailed it.

Look at the positives, as they are always some if you look hard enough. No need to waste your existence on negativity and irrationality from the emotion of a loss, always the next game.

Yeah, I agree, it was bad in the first half. Being an umpire would be a very tough gig and officiating based off interpretation of rules and what they have in front of them in a split second. We don't have a game to watch without them so can't crucify them all. Anyway, was highlighting the JvR tackle as my interpretation. Many calls and non calls went both ways, as does every game, can't win them all, all the time.

No disrespect to Eagles, as they've improved, but need to blow out a few cobwebs. Reverted to bombing it in too much tonight and connection moving the ball was very stifled. Good chance to stamp down on how we want to play heading into the 2nd half of the season.

I agree. He was great tonight. Developing at a nice and steady rate. Full game against Eagles could do wonders for his confidence.

I respectfully disagree. I reckon it was holding the ball too until I saw his knee dig into the turf. Lucky we didn't get 50 metres playing on thru Langdon and Pickett.

Bad calls both ways, particularly in first half. It's not the reason we lost. IMO, I think with the JvR tackle, Blues player's left knee digs into the turf and drives the hips up and upper body forward and down with momentum and JvR's body weight, his body jerks and doesn't go down smoothly. Just unlucky.

I can't warm to him because he is often a sore loser, just like Hardwick. I do like his analysis on the game though, but needs to work on his humility. That's why I love Goody so much, respectful whether they win or lose.

Huge lift by Petty. Clunked several marks at pivotal moments in the game and good defensive acts. Laid a great foundation to build confidence off to start kicking more goals. Very happy for Petts.

Need a collective lift in the midfield and by Petty. Negating Stewart and Cameron will go a long way to beating them. Personally, Cats are one of my most disliked teams so all the sweeter beating them, so get it done Dees 😉😁 Gawn, drop another 5 on them please 🙏

Seem to be managing their players well like they did in their 2022 flag year.

One stage I heard him saying something along the lines of "been lots of dirty balls tonight" referencing Port's inside 50 entries. Yes, Port are a dirty team but BT... too far man.
