It’s not the end of the world but it’s the 1% that add up ... Saw a swans win a few years ago and a young player started walking towards the race & Jared McVeigh pulled him up saying wait for the rest of the players .. commentators all said that’s leadership & culture.. understand it’s strange times now but I’d say successful clubs would not of allowed this to happen

Has the club or Gawn/Viney commented on this, understand strange times but sure a lack of leadership of Viney to halt up the players and wait for Gawn! Didn’t see tommlison or Langdon in the middle either, were they included? These are the 1% strong clubs get right!

You just don’t know how players trained in small groups and then getting them to connect as a whole group will vary and some will take longer than others. To think that they just gone back all together and they all click is a bit naive. Don’t get me wrong our club has big questions marks on our coaching and on field leadership a glaring example singing the song without their captain. were was Viney to hold up the team for Gawn... Call it a mishap but strong culture clubs do the 1% well.

All the games are clearly showing the affects of the lockdown and how teams are not connecting well and hitting the wall. Though still think we have concerns on how we continue to rollover so easily , dumb decisions kicking to 1v2or3 & which forwards will kick our goals as T Mac looked lost.

How could they sing the song & forget their Captain and is true was tommlison & Langdon missing?? What’s that saying about our leaders as you would make sure you walk off with all your teammates!

Not sure why having the MCG close by is an issue? There are as there are 3 other tenants also using this as their home ground .. Sure we have history but we can’t train on it.

Understand players are not robots but do we still have a lack of strong culture or leaders within our club??

We have 4 players who have played 1 game between them this season , 2 first gamers, 2nd gamer & 1 who hasn’t played in 2+ years.. nothing against them but sounds risky.. not sure what the rational is here... May sound old school but 4 inexperienced players at the same time, understand Bennell has played but not in 2years ..

2 first gamers plus Bennell who hasn’t played in 2 yrs+ seems a bit risky. Very hard with no vfl but how have 2 x 1st gamers earned a spot????

The whole drafting/development of the club between 07-13 was pathetic. How many of our top 20 picks are on any AFL list?? I can only think of Watts , Scully & Frawley.

That’s port colts ground, the Port Melb VFL ground is on the Cnr of Ingles & Williamstown rd is far & easier to get into than anything near the G for both club staff, members & players. Would need to get the cricket out to have access 12mths of the year which would need both local & state gvt assistance and ground is ripe for developing a state of the art training facilities. As stated above fisherman’s bend development will see a huge influx of population plus a new High School being built.

That’s great that Richo is impressed & Im sure Goody is very innovative etc but the reality is it’s a win/loss caper and achieving the ultimate success! The MFC have for the past 5 decades talked up a lot etc but when I see other successful clubs they let their football do the talking! I cringe hearing to hell & back.. back to what??? We haven’t achieved anything! Play that stuff when u win a flag!!! I wish nothing more than Goody success eg but keep the talking in house! Shut up & do ur talking on the field!

No doubt with covid 19 our training home base will be impacted due to funding by both gvt & club. Going forward this should be explored as the fisherman’s bend development will see another 20k population in the next decade or two. Ground needs development, club has some theme song, very close to Mcg, much easier for members to get into vs current aami park & demon shop...

Don’t disagree the integrity of the draw plus the finishing positions of the final eight can dramatically favour teams who play more bottom 10 teams to the point of earning a double chance plus hosting a home final. They will never play each other twice, but I believe you play each other once then the final eight play each other again which would finalise the positions and bring integrity. This would mean a 24 round season so an extra 2 games. The bottom 10 teams could possibly play a round robin for either draft picks or prize money.
