RIP mate. Sad, when the older we get, the more we lose our heroes. Such is life. Go well "young" man. One of the best Demons ever.

He will walk. We will lose him to another club. JJ still has currency and whoever picks him up, will get a good player, to our cost, if that happens. In my view, he is way ahead of Spargo and far more versatile.

Jordan. Keep him in. He is way ahead of Spargo, but behind and in front of the ball. A greet kick and has grunt. If we keep dropping him, we will lose him.

Let's keep things in perspective and don't get me wrong. I'll take that win anytime, but they had key injuries (accepting we didn't have Oliver), but they had a few more and apparently the flu went through much of the team. Once again our kicking, not only for goal, but to position, as well as constant fumbling, when in the clear, was woeful. We need more forward connection with our mids and structure. I can only hope that we gain confidence out of this and reach the peak of form, come finals, but we are nowhere near it yet. YET!!!

While striving to make a contest, of course, at some point, the player will take his eyes off the ball for a split second, so that he can gauge where the ball is, relative to the player in question. Simple commonsense. Then again, commonsense does not seem to prevail with the MRO or Tribunal. There was clearly no intent to hurt Ballard nor did JVR target him.

I am so angry about this. I was watching the game at my local club, with other impartial footy followers. When the incident occurred, I said I betcha the kid gets cited. The response from my mates was; "no way. Free kick yes, but there is no more in it". I responded by saying, he plays for the Dees. WTF is happening here? Seriously, the MFC must appeal and make representations to the AFL about this sort of unfair treatment. Bloody angry.😠

To me the comments from Goody can only mean he either signs soon, or if it goes quiet again, for a period of time, then Kozzie is gone.

100% correct. Redmann CHOSE to bump rather than use his arms to tackle. Spargo did not duck. He was in a crouch position after taking possession of the ball, sizing up his options to move the ball forward. Had he been tackled and retained the ball, then no problem, absolute holding the ball. But he was knocked senseless by the knock to his head from Redmann's hip, while he still had the ball. To rub salt into the wound, the ump insisted he stand the mark for Redmann's free kick. As a result and due to concussion protocols, Spargs will miss next week. Redmann won't.

No wanting to make excuses, but this had to be a factor.

By the way. I never claimed that it should be a free kick against Redmann. I simply meant that Sarpgo should have not been done for holding the ball in such circumstances.

My only knock on Clarrie's game and it always has been so, it that unlike other gun mids of his ilk, he does not hit the scoreboard enough, especially when it matters. If he did, I suspect he would have won a Brownlow by now.

Spargo did CROUCH, to avoid the incoming opponent (Redmann). He did not duck. Whether Redmann was trying to hit Spargo in the head or otherwise, does not matter. The fact is, Spargo was hit in the head by Redmann. No if's or but's. It was a hit to the head. That is why the MRO grade head high hits, which include the word "careless". If Redmann tried to wrap his arms around Spargo, in a tackle, then maybe a different story. The fact is, it was a bump, which affected Spargo's head. It WAS NOT a tackle.

FFS. I give up. In this current day and age, the head is sacro sanct. The oppo player ran through and hit Spargs in the head with his hip. That player did not have his arms in a position to tackle. He bumped him in the head.

So getting a whack in the head, which gives you concussion, is OK is it?

If he was tackled, in the same movement - as described above - then perhaps you might have an argument. But it wasn't a tackle, it was a bump, where he was hit in the head, by his opponent's hip.
