Personally I don’t rate Chandler. Spargo offers footy smarts, something this side lacks going into 50. I’d keep both, play Spargo in the AFL and let Chandler and AMW battle it out for a spot.

Harsh on Salem. I love the guy but he was borderline ineffectual the last 6 weeks. He needs the change, I’d love to see him forward or traded.

In that scenario you’d lose the picks to get McKertcher and Watson. Why not say to the dogs we’ll swap you Lever for Naughton or Jamara. Then we play Petty and Turner back and keep JVR forward. We’re going to have to give up something substantial to get a key forward. Is Lever really untouchable?

You can't as you won't have the picks. For mine this is the year to be brave. Shake the forwards out there and see if we can't get one over here. I use Jamara as an example as the Dogs are chock full of forwards but are deficient down back. Do we go ok, you guys take Lever we'll have Jamara or Naughton. We then recruit a key back with one of our high picks, play Turner and see how it rolls. I'm not saying this is the scenario but we have to be in the game. Do we offer up Salem, or Sparrow or even Oliver? We want sustained success, the draft alone won't give us that.

I’m not sure it was ever used to eat effect. Gawn 50% ruck, 25% forward and 25% bench, same for Grundy but rather than forward he gets subbed out in the last quarter for some more run.
