  1. Pretty extraordinary comment from the President. I still believe Weitering, Walsh, McKay, Curnow is more than enough to build a side around. Plus Cripps can’t possibly be down again. If they can get some ‘buy in’ which leads to a bit more selflessness from Saad, Williams and Martin they have some quality.
  2. I have mentioned this before, but I expect Carlton to start rising reasonably quickly. They have a lot of very good players in their core group and if Vossy can get a few of the suspect ones to give a little more consistent effort, sky is the limit
  3. This is the key, he might just want a change of environment. If he can go and get paid to keep playing AFL footy, even sparingly, he is likely better off than he would be in the real world. Personality clashes do exist, even with good/decent players and coaches
  4. Doubt there is too much opportunity for a player of his age and ability in the current climate. Adelaide, who are no good, delisted a player that was much better than Melksham in Lynch. The days of everyone landing at Gold Coast are long gone too.
  5. I think it's a very difficult decision, but not based on games he will play. He is likely starting 18 in both sides, so that should not matter. The difficulty lies with which team is most likely to have success. On current form, we are looking great, but it is bloody hard to keep backing up for multiple years at the top and even harder when you don't have a distinct home ground advantage (Brisbane, West Coast, Geelong) Carlton have the players to rebound very quickly if Vossy and his coaching staff get things right. They have some very high end talent and there is no chance the tail will wag the dog in 2022 (watch out Saad, Williams, Martin)
  6. Anyone thinking Gold Coast would need him should take off the rose coloured glasses. Good, honest tryer, but pretty limited now that the game is speeding up
  7. He hits bodies with serious intent, particularly when he isn't a big bloke himself. He'd give away 10kg and plenty of height to Dunkley
  8. Incredible day/night. Genuinely never believed I’d see it. Go you good things
  9. Dogs could not have had a better quarter, remain calm.
  10. Kudos to the CFC or whoever came up with this. Really giving the AFL the bird
  11. Absolutely, he has worked his backside off to become a regular again. He’s our hard luck story, every GF side has one. Really seems like the whole squad is invested in this and despite his bad luck, Hunty would be stoked to have been a part of the year and the 20 odd games that got us here. Hope it drives him and he continues on again for 2022
  12. Credit to him, hasn’t had the year he hoped for but I don’t think even our most optimistic supporters would have anticipated the year we have had. I think his unfortunate timing with the injury was the only thing that stopped him being a big contributor this year. As others have mentioned, there is no chance we remain injury free again in 2022, this year has been extraordinary on that front. He will get chances, let’s hope he grabs them and our three KPF’s push each other to continue on in 2022
  13. Trades are not all one-sided affairs. Jordon and Sparrow would not be the first fringe players to leave a top team for opportunity elsewhere? I hope they both stay as I like them a lot
  14. This is a very optimistic timeframe
  15. I ordered a Demons Guernsey from New Balance as the Prelim was being played, still no sign of it. Tracking says 'shipping information received 14th September" This is only adding to my GF anxiety
  16. Handy pickup for the Tiges
  17. To be honest, the memory of playing on the day would mean more to me than any medal. I don't think it's the worst thing for a squad to receive a medal, but you can bet Nathan Jones would not want one
  18. I think Benny Brown might cement himself in Demon folklore with a 4-5 goal day out.
  19. If any club is looking to grab him for leadership, you would hope his advice is much more sound than his actions. Do as I say, not as I do type scenario
  20. Wasn’t his manager shopping him for a ridiculous price last year/early this year? That backfired
  21. No way he isn’t on an AFL list next year. He might not be have ever fully cemented himself, but he’s too good for the scrap heap
  22. May’s body is going to get more attention than it’s ever seen over the next 15 days. I think he gets up. Would be very hard to make any changes but Hunt/Hibbo could be a roll of the dice depending on matchups. Was a brilliant team performance and any player that missed following it would be very unlucky
  23. Remember when Isaac Smith chose Geelong over us?
  24. Big one, he’s a very good player. Assuming he lands at the crows, they could rebound quickly
  25. I have a feeling it won't be one way traffic. Waiting until after finals suggests it may be someone exiting
