Kozzie looks lively. Reckon he'll have a big influence tonight.

Need more composure than that Petty. Settle son.

What they're saying down at Barkly Street
BDA replied to Queanbeyan Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fair and balanced comments. The common theme about these threads every week is the esteem that rival supporters have for Maxy. He gets more mentions and respect than any other Dees player. -
Evening starting to drag. Still 4 hours to go.
-
We're 9-1. Only defeat was by 1 point. The Doggies wilted under the pressure against the Tiges. If we can turn up the temperature gauge the Doggies will struggle. We won't allow them to saunter around Marvel to do as they please tonight. They're a very good side but by no means unbeatable.
-
The Giants form has been solid. They're half a chance against the Lions. The magpies pathetic season to lurch from bad to worst. Reckon the cats will belt them.

That's one of the best articles i've read about the Dees in a long time. It totally resonates with what we've seen on the field. I'm feeling much more confident about tonight's game after reading this. No way we don't turn up. The Dogs will have to play very well to beat us.

Dan Murphy's do home deliveries OD. Not sure what their whiskey selection is like though.

We need the same levels of pressure we brought to the Richmond game, across the board but from Spargo, ANB and Kozzie in particular. We need our leaders to stand up. Oliver needs help. Trac, Max and TMac to have big games. Salem’s return will bring poise and composure. May won;t play as badly again. The lesser lights to play their role. Hunt, Harmes, Hibbo Jordon Fritsch Melks can’t afford poor games. I can't see us winning this game with passengers. Now would be the perfect time for the Weid to stand and deliver. Come on son. The no crowd freo v eagles game a few rounds ago was a strange affair. The lack of atmosphere turned the game into a training session style shoot-out. That would not suit us. It’s been a weird week. Disrupted preparation bound to have an impact. Hard one to pick this. If we can focus, impose our pressure game on the Dogs we’ll win.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing

I've been a big supporter of the Weid but its time to deliver. Another underwhelming performance and it's back to Casey.

99.99% of UFO sightings are either BS or explainable by terrestrial phenomena The eyewitness accounts of David Fravor (a very sober and credible navy commanader) and his crew who saw that object, the radar tracking, the fact their radar was jammed when they got close (which is an act of war byw) and the speeds and maneuverability of the object are very hard to explain. a real head scratcher. Probably a conversation for a different thread

no crowds - advantage us

ManDee should be allowed to make an informed decision about which vaccine he wants to take. It’s his body and his right. We’re a liberal democracy not the Soviet Union. However, if he decides not to take an available vaccine and chooses to wait for a vaccine of his preference then he should be re-categorised with the rest of the general population. That’s only fair imv. We can’t delay the broader roll-out.
-
I’ll be honest I haven’t been paying close attention to the roll-out but this eminent lock down will focus my mind. I’ll be researching and taking a much closer look at it. Agree the AFL will need to consider very carefully before advocating for player vaccination. Risk categories and health workers absolutely get priority. 100% agree with you there. But scenarios where vaccines are there but people aren’t turning up to take them has to be questioned. We can’t let hold-outs or stragglers, no matter their risk status, delay a broader roll-out. If there are people in the community who are prepared to get vaccinated in full knowledge of the risks then they should be allowed to do so, on the proviso they are not taking a vaccine which a person in a risk category is ready and willing to take.
-
I think it's time to consider vaccinating the teams, coaches and support staff. This will allow them to move freely across state lines (or i think it should anyways) and negate any talk of Hubs. If there's no shortage of vaccine and risk categories are dragging the chain in terms of take up I don;t see any moral reason why this can;t be done. Obviously health workers and risk groups get priority but there's no point having vaccine sitting there with nobody turning up to get vaccinated.
-
The powers that be need to get their act together and turbo charge the vaccine roll-out. Complacency is creeping back in again and we all know what happened the last time. The only way out of Covid world is by getting everyone vaccinated ASAP. Their will always be vaccine hold-outs and cranks but it this instance they do have a point. We have no idea about the long term effects of the vaccines because the longitudinal studies which are typically done before a vaccine is approved have not been done. I’ll be getting mine. I have to if I want to travel overseas but I’ll be keeping a close eye on the adverse events data for the various vaccines before I get my jabs.

Petracca/Oliver: Greatest Midfield Duo of All-Time?
BDA replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Maxy was in fantastic form over the first 6 weeks, Brownlow form, but the dip has been quite pronounced. And his mistakes, when he makes them, always seem to be costly and rash. A silly 50, tapping the ball down the throat of oppo player to score the easy goal, dropped marks which lead to goals. Costly free kicks I think he has been a victim of the changed forward set-up as well. Early season he was going forward and taking marks but since he’s gone forward and got in the way, and looked a little lost actually. He works so hard and is still getting up and down the ground. His top form will return I’m sure. -
Petracca/Oliver: Greatest Midfield Duo of All-Time?
BDA replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
They're fantastic. Love the both of them. Reckon though you could pair the Bont with any of 2 or 3 doggies midfielders to have an equivalent if not better pair. -
I absolutely hope this outbreak can be contained and does not spread and as disappointing as it is not to be able to go, if it means we can keep a lid on Covid then i'll accept it. That being the case, and thinking from a very selfish fan perspective, does the lack of a crowd benefit us? We didn't do too well in front of the Crows fans last weekend so i reckon there's some advantage.

If we bring the same level of intensity and pressure that got us the win against the tiges and we kick straight then we’re a big chance. Treloar out compensates for Salem and even without Viney i still think we'll win.

Wouldn't mind a drone strike on Optus stadium. After my experiences over there at the 2018 prelim i have flashbacks and PTSD every time it appears on screen. That place needs to be wiped off the map.

We have all the pieces to win it this year Richmond won a granny with Riewoldt and a swarm of midgets upfront We just need to keep grinding away, secure top 4, time our run to ensure we are in good form and have a healthy list going into September. And hopefully the bounce of the ball goes our way.

Umps got it wrong - need a please explain
BDA replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Who would want to be an umpire? The rules keep changing and way too much scope for interpretation. What was wrong with the old deliberate rule. Why has HTB all of a sudden become such a confusing mess. Our game against Carlton last week was a farce. The AFL created this mess and need to sort it out. And i reckon there's a role for technology to help umpires
