In other drafts she’d probably be well in first rd contention, but this is an especially strong group. Yeah, the trackers are wrong, the official AFL account which announces trades on twitter listed pick 46. Altogether that places Mithen's value at roughly pick 17.

Zippy Fish the only one who could push Centra out at pick 1, Rasheed just a little bit further back then a gap to the next group. Both Fish and Rasheed are very good ball users but Fish has the speed advantage. A real excitement machine, would love to see her and Pisano running around for us next season.

GC are potentially getting the best player in the draft as an academy selection and need points to match bids for other talented academy prospects. They’re getting Mithen & other lower picks back in the trade.

Todd Patterson's our head of recruiting in AFLW and has done a pretty good job. This year's crop is viewed as something of a super draft, a lot of talented players in that first 10 and this year will be the first truly national draft, so can draft players regardless of state (no nominating which state you want to be drafted to). I can see why we'd want to load up on picks. If we could nab pick 2 from GC, Zippy Fish or India Rasheed would be incredibly good gets (Ash Centra expected to be selected by Collingwood @ 1).

The player can be born here, but I believe eligible if they have indigenous background or if the participant has at least 1 parent that was born overseas and are from a multicultural group that is (significantly) under-represented in the AFL relative to the population.

From a list perspective, I like that they are quite different players stylistically whilst all being versatile. They have the potential to give us quite a different (and dynamic) look through the midfield.

I think I read that Burgiel is training on with WC in the hopes of getting another shot with the Eagles.

Worth noting that there are already a number of highly rated talls for next year. Inevitable that some will drop off and others will rise, but the early buzz on Ludowyke, Duff-Tyler & Emmett probably helps our cause.

It’ll be interesting to see what new DVI weightings will do to the process. We might see a lot less of the wild pick fluctuations.

Dyson Sharp a contender. Ludowyke could push with a strong season. Noticeable how many academy players are in that list.

Berry’s a jet, we have a heap of good options open to us. Another that would help address our ball movement forward of centre.

When Cal talks about p6. Whilst all the recruiters reckon it’s Smillie @ 6, Cal wonders whether Tiges jump on Allan here knowing both Dees & Saints are interested.

He could still go to Carlton (although Smith favoured) or Adelaide, but the interesting bit of info from Cal is that Draper is in the mix at 2 along with O’Sullivan & Tauru. He was spotted with Todd Viney at Arden Street over the weekend. So many variables. Tiges having an interest in Allan at 6 creates a range of outcomes for Dees as well. Smillie/Reid or even Travaglia at 9 all possibilities if Tauru is our player at 5.
