  1. If Port lose tonight, then we have a good chance of grabbing 2nd spot as I think Port will drop at least one more game. That’s assuming we win all remaining games. Swans and Blues are no easy beats.
  2. I do wonder if the other top 4 teams have got their conditioning right. They all look pretty cooked.
  3. Really surprising result. Not sure what the motivation behind this performance is all about.
  4. Give them two premiership players in Harmes and JJ.
  5. Carlton looked absolutely cooked.
  6. Can you just imagine our team With Curnow. It would be just magical.
  7. Looks like more rain on Sunday arvo.
  8. In all seriousness, would you trade JVR and Grundy for W.C Pick 1? Get Pick 5 from GC and then take 1,4,5 to the draft. FMD that would be something else.
  9. If NMFC get anything more than a 2nd rounder compensation for McKay or end of 1st round priority assistance it will be grossly unjust. I'd be happy to give them Sanders as compensation and assistance.
  10. If Grundy ends up going and we ship Tommo & Harmes off as well, that'll likely land us further 2nd and 3rd round picks. Throw in a F1 + these picks instead of Pick 5 could look something like. A. Pick 15, 23 , 34 << Pick 5 from GCS (points value defecit of ~800) B. 2x2nd rounders , 1 x 3rd rounders for Grundy, Harmes, Tommo C. Pick 4, 2x2nd rounders, F1 for Pick 1 from WC (Points value deficit of ~1500) We then take Pick 1 and 5 to the draft, and the points from the remaining picks. Netting us Reid, McKercher and Brown
  11. I think they are both dangerous on their day.
  12. nice one binman. when Hunty left us last year one could posit we were one Jayden Short.
  13. If we can all agree that he his back half / wing, how does he fit into the team? Who does he replace? I do agree he has speed and good skill, I have yet to see him carve up teams like B.Hill, Milera (Saints and Adelaide), Coleman/Mckenna (Lions) with his kicking skills and ball movement ability though. Happy to add him to the team as a prospect, but not with a round 1 pick as Freo will undoubtedly want. Maybe our late 2nd rounder and a future 3rd for good measure.
  14. I get tendon - but has it actually ever been quoted as such? They said it’s near tendon but nothing definitive. In that context a retweak makes more sense that it being tendon and the nobody from the club saying as much.
  15. Apparently Oliver’s extended time on the sidelines was due to him redoing his hammy a few weeks back. I don’t know whether this accepted fact and but I certainly had heard this too. It’s reliable source so hopefully that removes some of the mystery.
  16. If Grundy does go, do we try to get Silvagni from the Blues as the more model 2nd ruck that has some forward craft? He looks to be on the outer to free up cap space for De Koning
  17. As much as we all love him, playing Fritta fresh from injury in a QF, SF or PF is really a big risk - im not sure id be willing to take it especially with how we are covering for him now. Its a big unknown for sure and i'd love to get a game into him before he appears for us in a final. Unfortunately for him, the timing just may not work out for him.
  18. I disagree. The one player that has had the biggest impact at Brisbane is Dunkley. He is the best defensive midfielder in the business and runs both ways. Dont need his skills they are elite ball users all over the park. Their biggest weakness was their defensive side . Not saying Fletcher / Ashcroft havent had their value, but Dunkley was the key acquisition which has made them a far better team.
  19. Tigers are going to lose a number stars in the next 1-2 and will nose dive. Lynch, Riewoldt, Dusty, Cotchin, Grimes, Nankervis, Prestia will all be gone in 1-2 years time.
  20. Melbournes had and will only have one wizard.
  21. I think the youth on their list is more than sufficient and it is not the area they are in need of assistance. They are stocked in the middle - Wardlaw and Sheezel will essentially compliment their existing mature midfield in a year or two's time and it will be a pretty good midfield at that. They need immediate replacements for McKay and Logue. The answer is not young players accumulated through draft picks. Whatever compensation or AFL assistance they receive should be used to attract mature talent. Whether that be salary cap concessions, 'must-trade' picks etc. An early first rounder for McKay will be highway robbery but i think all the media discussion / speculation is all contrived to soften the industry response for something of that nature. I think the assistance will come as an end of first/start of second, which we should aim to take off them in exchange for Tommo. Lets not undersell Tommo, he probably makes most teams starting 18 and plays the lock down position very well. His age will be the most limiting factor.
  22. Yep i think more so on the impact on Clarry and putting indirect/unnecessary pressure on him to be fit and healthy. I think he'll come back and play against Norf and get some match fitness before he is then really tested against the Blues the week after. I found what Yze said in relation to him joining the team for full training an interesting statement as the track watchers have already mentioned that he has been doing that for quite a few weeks. Was that perhaps an indication that he has recovered and now its all about building match fitness?
  23. For those that disparage Damian Barrett's media work, DO NOT watch one of his most recent video on afl.com.au with Lloydy where he claims Adelaide should be sitting above MFC on the ladder and that Adelaide threw the game away. Seriously how is this guy relevant in AFL commentary - fair enough he may get the scoop on board room and footy dept politics, but he has no business or credibility in discussing actual football.
  24. If Max keeps this up for the rest of the season, as in getting 1st or 2nd BOG, then he has to factor as AA ruckmen. English gets the stats but rarely has a significant impact on a game. The AFLCA voting will definitely factor in the decision making.
