  1. Its also a mini rort. Errol Gulden was bought up in country victoria football. How does that then turn into Sydney academy player? You shouldn't be permitted to come in and swoop on players from anywhere in Australia and claim them as Academy players. Again if you are going to allow that, then make it that any junior talent can be scouted and added to any clubs academy from anywhere in Oz. Give all clubs 1 academy selection per each draft and be done with it.
  2. I'm not against the idea of academy prospects for new and growing clubs. But after a decade in the comp, enough is enough. There should be no team with that advantage. Either allow next gen draft access for all clubs or none at all.
  3. Andrew Brayshaw out of contract next year.
  4. I suspect a myriad of things but it shouldn’t matter. The one thing every player needs to bring every week is 100% commitment.
  5. Cause he has stuck fat with Oetty stinking up the whole joint this year. This is why selection integrity is crucial.
  6. I thought this too. Zita on FoxFooty started the whole push. I think he’s a north supporter because he sounded a bit sulky after the game.
  7. Let’s get it done. I think he is cooked and will not come close to his form from 2+ years ago. What makes me think this is BS is the Hawks are not the right side for him. They are kicking team and Oliver is not a cracking kick. Their first pick this year and F1 ought to get it done.
  8. 💯. I think there is a bit of fallacy around the Sydney and Geelongs of the world because I think they both have advantages that other teams do not. How long did it take Sydney to rebuild its list? Not long at all because almost half their best 22 are next gen players. And they also have the lure of the bigger salary cap. Geelong on the other hand have the benefit of being the country side town just outside the football capital and are able to attract the players that don’t like the lime light. Unfortunately with the academy here to stay these teams will continue to have that advantage. So we should stack up when we can and reload for the next era. JVR, Jeffo, Kalani White, Turner, Windsor, Kolt, Brown are the next crop so let’s compliment that list and maybe we can have another crack in 4-5 years before Trac and Oliver have to retire. Reloading now from where we are is dangerous and could do considerable damage.
  9. I think Riv and Viney were the only significant positives from last night. Kolts first half for his 2nd game was also something to be happy about.
  10. If he isn’t fit, then I would expect to see him starting well then fading. That isn’t the case as he is ineffective all game from the first whistle when he had a full tank. There are no more excuses for this team. You have to assess things at face value and the reality is, he is like half the team and is no longer invested like they once were. They lack hunger and the guts to play with the brutality we all expect. This is the cold reality. Positive, negative, Debbie Downer , what ever rocks your boat. You cannot deny this.
  11. It’s complete BS the media choose to focus on Mays staging after what the umps dished up and how it changed the momentum of that game with two free kick goals in the first 5 mins of that quarter. If it was a Collingwood or Carlton, it’s all you’d hear about.
  12. You can forgive 5m, but that was truly unforgivable.
  13. Yep. Gonna be in a battle with GCS, WCE and Hawks for flags in 3-4 years time.
  14. They do have the upper hand for sure. But trade value is trade value - you never really pay overs for someone. It’s more the contract. Anyway, history tells us that it’s not likely happen this year anyway.
  15. 2 first rounders is way over. He hasn’t done anything to warrant that type of currency. That is Top 20-30 player territory. The money he may command may be overs but trade value is 1st rounder which will be a top 10 this year. Maybe a f2 if things get testy. But we need FA and draft picks. Trying to salvage this list is not the way to go IMV.
  16. It would cost us our round 1 pick. If Tommo was in contract (assume he’s not?) you’d throw him in for good measure as the Roos need some height back there.
  17. Kmart? I was think more Daimaru. But in all seriousness, he was pretty damn good. If Norf start to turn things around and win a few more this year, hard to see him leaving. Especially to a club that is on the decline.
  18. Be careful someone is collecting names.
  19. Playing for themselves that’s why.
  20. I wonder if they put it up on The Bounce and the the boys to measure it. The umpires have becone embarrassing
  21. What about the 75m 50m penalty? Roos got a good 3-4 goals from absolute howlers tonight.
  22. He has been worked out. I think his lack of pre season is a reason but not the reason. Was always a poor ball user but his stoppage work has just fallen off the face of the planet.
  23. Make a holiday of it and head down to the beach and safe yourself the mental anguish.
  24. When they stop trying I stop going. It is that simple. As bad as the plan is, our effort and will is just not there. Half of that team are being found out this year for their selfish attitude and arrogance - it’s pathetic. Only a handful deserve our plaudits.
  25. Yep he would have been had Gus not been retired and Oliver would have played 8-10 games at Casey too.
