  1. That was a block.
  2. Port are really off their game.
  3. Calling it a snap lockdown is a double edged sword. People begin their movements towards the end of the lockdown cycle as you have shown, on the expectation that we will come out of it. The messaging of a snap lockdown is wrong and i hope is abolished. They should have approached it like lockdowns gone by and said "We are going into lockdown UNTIL numbers are back within tolerable limits - we will re-asses the lockdown in 1 or 2 weeks time." That way people are not inclined to act on the assumption that we will come out by default, but rather act on the basis of the numbers - the media would have also followed the narrative a bit more closely. Anyone with half a brain could have seen that in the current lockdown, the data was trending the wrong way prior to the extensions that were implemented.
  4. Ok so i may have spent about an hour of my time this arvo pulling together my own AA 40 man squad in an effort to strike up some convo on the AA 40 man squad thread started by @dieter that was subsequently closed earlier today - lost all my work too 😶. In doing some of the background analysis on AFL stats pro, i felt a bit awkward when i found myself seriously considering our favorite son (ANB) as the 'defensive forward' option. Interestingly, he features quite distinctly in the various small forward stats such as inside 50s, goal assists, pressure acts and inside 50 tackles. His DE, total disposals and other secondary stats were also pretty good compared to his peers. Now I'm doubtful he will get named, but i think I've finely found some evidence that backs up this strange feeling of pride i have had for him this year and i have felt compelled to share this with you all. Well done ANB. P.S. Dont stink it up now :)
  5. Yeah he does, but i don't think he can take the number one defender just yet. He will still need time to develop his craft and his understanding. Having him play as a lieutenant in a backline with Tommo, May & Lever will do wanders to his game. Our backline stocks look pretty good actually, which makes me wonder whether we actually need to go after Maynard. refresh: May, Lever, Petty, Rivers, Tommo, J Smith, Hibberd, Hore, Lockhart is a pretty versatile group. Then you have Salem, Bowey & Hunt as a half back flankers group. It is pretty good depth. Makes me think whether we are better placed trying to focus more on KPF / outside or just raw talent in the draft.
  6. I like that idea but King will attract a 800K+ salary which we’d need to move on several players to find the cap space now. Then you have LJ, Kozzie, Oliver who will also demand decent coin to stick around. Especially Oliver I can see another Trac type of deal for him.
  7. Tommo is our solution to playing a one-on-one lockdown style. We have to many interceptors. He has the height and body to match it with King brothers, Hawkins and similar types.
  8. Yep Smith was the best matchup on Rohan. Has the most speed in our D50 and a good test going into finals
  9. Cats will do exactly the same i reckon - and so if Doggies win, i would be surprised if there is a major contest.. Of course it still wont stop Danger and Selwood with head high bumps, Hawkins with free flying elbows.
  10. But he was adamant there was nothing in Selwood or Hawkins cases. If he’s a sensationalist then he’d hype that up as well right? I think he’s got a score to settle with the Dees board.
  11. For that to happen we would need to start having 0 mystery cases from tomorrow. Thanks to the mob at the engagement party and various other illegal gatherings it’s hard to see that happening. I’d also think that given the quickness of how we re entered lockdown that we will be even slower coming out of this lockdown.
  12. If they do this, can they use Olympic Park oval in a shared capacity with CFC? It would still be a bit of a walk between the admin/training facility and Goachs paddock. i reckon they could use the car park to the SE off AAMI with an underground car park instead of the Proposed SW as it has a larger footprint to work with and is closer to Goschs paddock.
  13. Garlett at his prime was something special. Basing it off Pickett's best and Garlett's best its a close call. No doubt in my mind that Pickett will surpass him very soon, but i would take Garlett's best right now only on the basis that his experience at the AFL level and playing small forward probably has him playing the role a little bit better. This is not a question of raw talent because Pickett i think has him just covered.
  14. 100% on the money. Lynch is in the same fold as Melksham. There may be a little upside but not worth the extra salary cap space imo.
  15. What I don’t get is that Tom Morris is a Melbourne man too. Or at least he was a former employee.
  16. Because I think it’s out of character for Majak to do that especially in a meaningless Scratch match. I think if something offensive was said it will make its way into the public spotlight.
  17. Just watch him cop 4 weeks for this. Given all the scrutiny on the MRO and Tribunal. They will choose to make another example case of yet again a Melbourne player. It certainly isn’t pretty but surely it’s 1 week maximum or a fine. Don’t know where Tom Morris gets off at saying it’s 3-4 weeks. He certainly is a [censored].
  18. Article today online regarding Ben King becoming available end of 2022. My view is so whatever you can to snag him. Free up salary cap etc. I get that it’s a long shot but Tigers getting Lynch gave them an extra two premierships that they couldn’t win with Riewoldt alone. They got rid of a few players along the way so it wasn’t an easy call.
  19. Need outside link players. Spargs and ANB have been playing that role pretty well though. I like the Lynch suggestion, but cannot think who in our fwd line would make way. He is similar to Melksham in my view. id be chasing Maynard - as others have said. KP forward is a draft priority as we have decent depth here. Outside is probably o another gap. Bowey/ Laurie will grow into that role in the next 2-3 years so I’m I’m inclined to give them the opp.
  20. I’ve changed my view on Brayshaw over the last 1-2 seasons. He was trade bait but I think he plays the role no one else wants and is a good off field leader / influencer. He stays in my book. interestinly he did say he’d move back to Perth post football. I would also think he would request a trade to play at least 2-3 years of footy with his brother.
  21. He sure has a lot of accidents then doesn’t he. It’s a reckless and negligent act that he didn’t need to do. In every definition of the dangerous tackling rules - which you may remember we paid a 5 week penalty for.
  22. So Hawkins not even charged. How the [censored] does that happen. How can anyone think something sinister is not going on. What an absolute [censored] up.
  23. I agree he’s a starting 18 for sure. So what to do with Tommo when he comes back? A few murmuring of perhaps moving Rivers into the middle? Will be interesting nonetheless how his career unfolds.
  24. Nope for mine. It’s a good outlet for me or I cop an earful from the missers and the neighbours with all the swearing and yelling. Best that what is said stays there and is not used in future under any circumstances. Any other thread is fair game though (inc this one)
  25. 6. Fritsch 5. Jackson 4. Trac 3. Gawn 2. Langdon 1 Salem
