  1. Sorry Hunter is missing also Aplogies Roost it but we need 2 at least newbies vs Freo. He gave som clues in his presser today apparently at training.
  2. Oliver can't play on one leg Heis hood even great but needs to be able to run !!. Who is going to replace him word is that Taj Woe will debut.
  3. Great work Woe well deserved and good luck. A true Demon to you bootlaces!
  4. Seems a good base for another appeal to the Tribunal Appeals court based on a technicality. Very clear cut and good chance here!
  5. Well Fr-ap you have spent half your post smugly self congratulating yourself saying you were right as the Tribunal upheld the appeal. Doesnt make you or them right!!! What it means is that there was an error somewhere in their expectation of how this "tackle" should have been approached. Fundamentally Lachie could have lowered his body and contested with the result that both players would expect to clash heads and Ed know what that would have resulted in. Both players missing the next week or more and a horrible scene on TV and at the ground. Oh and one digestion from the AFL team was for Lachie to avoid contesting and give Rozee the free access to the ball. That's how they came to try and solve the dilemma. Please don't try and conconct your lounge room fantasy whereby the two players "would have been safe to use their hands as they reach out further than their heads so that would have been safe!!" Is preposterous at worst and ridiculous at best. Part of football is based on the saying "keep your head over the ball" and has been the coaches catch cry for 180 years so to digress from that principle is against any proper coaching of the game. The AFL have failed in their enthusiasm to back the MRO and umpires in upholding this decision as Rozee should have turned his head and body to contest the ball to the side to avoid any dangerous head on contact ( or side on ). If done correctively both players can avoid any head contact by their bodies contacting each other's. In this instance Tozee should have been cited for his own lack of safety and careless tackle. The result that he was not injured ( or Lachie) as Lachie braced himself for the contact and his behind took the contact which proved low impact ( not medium) as no head issues resulted. Finslly Adrian Anderson and MFC got this issue wrong. It was a simple case of NOT admitting right or wrong of the action BUT that it was palpably incorrect to be Assessed as MEDziUM impact and should have been judged as LOW. Then a fine is given and you move on. Both players got it wrong IMO and the AFL and players are even more confused about tackling as the AFL want their cake then want to eat it also. ie move goalposts to suit themselves ie why didn't you avoid contesting the ball" is the dingle most damming comment from the AFL Legsl team since he thought up the " reasonable player" comment in Rooy's case a fortnight ago. No Matter if you comment or post a rely Fr-ap I am finished with this matter but expect to see a different ruling or variation at any time in the future from the Umpires and AFL as they grapple to correct their head and concussion issues and the AFL laws interpretations.
  6. As you still ignored my comment that we are in completely different times now with the head/concussion issue VIP on the AFL agenda and it has resulted in a rasp of tribunal and reports cases as a result Also the MRO has started with some cases which can be just throws at the stumps as a result of the head and concussion tackling. If he misses with a few he doesn't stop plucking and missing in this attempt to look responsible and invariably all he looks is confused out of place and must be on his last season with this style and standard of performance.
  7. Really that's why you appeal!!!! HVe you no logic Jaded?
  8. The issue user ste in a trigger happy MRO climate so we need to respond accordingly. Surely Rooys case was not trigger happy ? That's ridiculous if you believe that as we followed it up and win the appeal! Tick tick Now I believe Lachie's appeal is a no brainer. Fr-ap has bought up his home made lounge room simulation which in my opinion is more a toilet version if the circumstances. Interestingly he sort of half concedes a case for reduction of impact from medium to low bring debatable. Thsts what all our defence is trying to approve. They may even have a case for it to be all Lachie could or under the circs and highlight Rozees scary approach as he cannoned into Lachie with no thought of a safeguard for his own health. The fact that the 7 commentators initially said basically no case to answer ( they may change that later of course) is an opinion that with this present climate should be tested accordingly. It's the MRO that has the hung ho approach as he picks and chooses potential disasters and charges even when the result is not a drama. well done Dees test this climate and MRO as long as you like if there is a reasonable chance of overturning his idiocy and peculiar judgement at times.
  9. If we can see Maxy bring targeted I am sure the players can. Thats the worst excuse I have heard that they couldn't see it!!! Please . It is just where the team sits and as well is in life the more you put in the more you ( deserve to) get out of it!!!
  10. Nevertheless the members of our clandestine leadership group were notably absent and its these little 1% ers that were done in 2021 without question. A drop off in this culture 10 times a match say, indicates that we are missing out that extra unity and team bonding/ spirit that made us almost unbeatable in our Flag year. It's time for Gawny to gather the troops and release a few home truths. A gentle reminder with our next 4 games as crucial to a top 4 spot is just what the doctor ordered. We are not far off it but need all the ducks we can get in a row to beat the Pies Lions and Cats. Even Port and the Dogs would not be scared by us on Friday's effort which was short on really good classy football acts that win games. Trac and Clarry slightly hampered in the last quarter was telling but it's time for some other heroes other than Maxy Trac Clarry Maysie and JV to get us over the line in the close ones.
  11. Surely his last 2/3 years ( coincidentally after his split with MrsH which was ironic after all) he has never been the same. The Tigers have after 4 years of supreme footy are past their best and all those close games shows he had lost his aura as well. Dimma does not take losing kindly and has shown his true colours over the last 50 plus games with an occasional resort to street fighting language " let him say that to my face ". Not what coaching is about or great for the second best coach in the 2000's to be remonstrating. That of course is part of the package as a player when in trouble resort to your street habits under pressure. He possibly feels his message may well not be reaching the players allied with the record of 11 out of 13 plus a draw as well under 6 point losses it's the right time. Yes he may be back but the intensity today he possesses might also see him out of the limelight for a season or two at least. Some will welcome this others wil miss his occasional headline grabbing statements or actions. One thing is his record of 3 flags puts him right at the top of the Tigers greatest and a huge performer in the modern era only surpassed by Clarko with 4 flags and level with Chris Scott whose sustained excellence and 2 flags from 3 GF over the same period place them as equals in my estimation.
  12. No he is asking why how long for the quarter did something happen? Would have been getting Mitch Owen off the ground no doubt.
  13. The point is that our Ruck Coach has had the forward job for 3 years and it's still a mess. How long does one get to stay without change.
  14. Wait and see how he goes when Wright and Jones return. He is playing with more run and leading I admit but for how long.
  15. Bevo has switched Caleb Daniels to midfield nearly BOG agsin in last 2 rounds. Size never stops sports people unless it's a complete mismatch but it's generally ability that restricts ones output.
  16. Really as a clear cut changes plan this is a mud pie. First of all PETTY is out till after the bye ( post in D/L of about 150/200 contrbutions) snd in Daily Melb papers and no doubt on TV as well. Secondly Petty and Tmac "rotating through that wing". Neither play on a wing they are KPF or KpB depending upon placement. Neither have regularly played EVER on a wing for us in the last 4 years. , Tmac played wing cameos of about 5/10 mins prior to gong forwarded FF or CHF in 2018. Bowser we don't know about yet Yes Clarry is also a mystery but it is only precaution getting a scan at this stage. Sparrow will come back in definitely whether Clarry gets up or not. Not sure we need Turner as we have enough Half backs with Salem back Rivers McVee Brayshaw also. Unless we need a third tall Turner not needed. Harmes should get game and make our mids more accountable and tag a Freo star so that they don't have 41 possies would be a start. Hope this clarifies selection a bit more but really we don't know it's too early in the week re Hunter Clarry and Bowser.
  17. Too tall ? Who would you have dropped K? we were 5 mins short of time with our run. And with Trac not quite 100% and Salo not quite match fit for full game our last quarter was not as good as usual. I believe if Harmes had played and Sparrow available we would have won with more flexibility and physical presence plu so a tagging role available. To let one player get 41 possies and no tag is acting like a billionaire and we paid for it. Perhaps McVee and Chandler could be rested one vs Freo and other vs Carlton. And no one has mentioned about our Forward Coach who really only gets us going ok vs Outside top 8 sides and did fit about 6 weeks at the end if 2021. Agsinst Top8 teams we revert to lack of connectivity and our system can go out of the window. Stafford had had 2and a half years to solve this about Time a change was made. And Ooze is under the pump for his on ball lack of action and cohesion. Let's treat these as serious ie shape up or maybe change them or ship out!! Or change the players that only play ONE role. Surely we don't want a team of one trick ponies?
  18. Last post Fr-ap but you did say "was not adding anything significantly to the side" and if my coach or boss said that to me I would be fearful of my long term position at the Club/ Office or In the team. in other words I wouldn't be missed really!
  19. We played him v GoldCoast badly so how is the wing going to solve Disco's problem. He needs to be played on a Fritsch type or a lighter defender. Maybe he needs to bulk up a bit also. He reminds me of Colin Garland in size and body. Good mark though. Hope he can get a chance very soon. Now could he be a Jack Silvano role type. Trouble is we have 2 ruckman.
  20. Where did I say about a vendetta? Yes some have and I don't agree but it is most unDemonlike for 3 successive reports which indicates the AFL mania for trying to control the concussion/ head debate. The MRO Officer is not consistent never has been and where a loophole or vision to break his jarred version of carrying out the AFL mantra is available let's challenge it. This is an opportunity as Spartow was clearly up against precedent. The Tribunal have at least shown they are open to grading changes and this one is wide open for that challenge. Your judgement on Lachie Hunter seems harsh and I doubt you would be the same it it was Trac or Clarry or Gawny. He was one of our better players ( not so hard to figure) and he has some style quirks but to say he wouldn't be missed on his season so far by any poster is totally biased and unfair on Lachie. I believe if both Harmes and Sparrow played we would have won based on tagging and a more physical approach by our on ballers, placing more pressure on their youngsters, much the way Maxy was treated like in 2019 by Port when it was perhaps not physically challenged early and strong enough. Let's see what happens this week.
  21. Agree thats the thing Fr- ap does not look at. Every bit of evidence is that it was LOW impact and should be challenged vigorously at the Tribunal. Different scenario if he was taken off the ground and also Players are taught NOT to lead head first into a contest but to turn their body. Rozee made no effort at all and Hunter was IMO first at the ball. For Fr-ap to say it's so cut and dried he does not understand the game and current psychology of the game. Where MRO leaves a clear opportunity to challenge the ruling we MUST take him to task. in fact some of Fr-ap 's post is fundamentally wrong some may even call it Cr-ap and we should show our strength and support our players when wrongly charged. In other words the medium impact is patently wrong on all counts and should be downgraded to a fine.
  22. Agree Roost it !! Get Burgo back! Clarry is undisciplined at times and so is Kossie. Both need some TLC with a gentle pat on the behind to get that 5% out of them ALL the time that is match winning not just careless handballs or futile high screamers or careless kicks for disposal or goals.
  23. Do you penalise like for other teams say the swans because it's not a good look the look the way they have been losing. Sometimes poor exposure is the beginning of the end for some fans who shy away from watching. Seeing Buddy play last week made the Freo game awful almost embarrassing as Amiss Treacy and Jacko starred and Buddy ( who was ill they say )prob got that from Chris Scot!! No it's a raffle this TV game as well Reith the usual AFL indifference to many of its decisions. At least they could recruit a champion excuse and generally untruthful defender of poor judgement likeScott Morrison to further confuse the masses.
