  1. Poita who does win premierships then? If not Ruckmen or small forwards who? Wingers ? Mids ? Interchange ? Selectors ? Coaches ? Seriously it's team of all Players and off field paid and unpaid people if the Club. The players we have recruited in the draft, trade and now PSD and Supplementary in my mind make us about 5 pieces nearer the puzzle fir an ideal team. With injured and underdone personnel plus developing 2018 recruits at least 2 or 3 more regulars should be added to our best 22. IMO we could have up to 8/10 new faces at the end of season ( and we need at least 6) if we are to progress as a club plus have depth for the hard times. We have cut our cloth nearly for 2020 let's make the best of it and get back to winning ways.0
  2. And the return of Fritta back where he belongs kicking goals and clunking marks!
  3. Very good all round selections which addressed most of our needs Forward power via a left field competitive livewire with plenty of ball skills. One has to imagine when Luke is in the vicinity of the ball only good (goals and assists) will come if it. Speed and aggression plus defensive forward pressure. Kozzie is such a live wire and has plenty of tricks to enable him to survive in this tough game. Will quickly become a fan favourite and light up the G with his electrifying moves. Another defender named Rivers who could easily be even better than Jared.Very solid good Mark very good disposer from HB snd a dasher when he sees the opportunity. At 188cm will fit into our team very nicely sooner rather than later. Two good points are that he USA team mate of Luke Jackson at South Freo and that's smart in interstate recruiting. Also he will put Every one of our half backs on notice he is coming for their spot so don't be surprised he gets a chance at some stage in 2020 and grabs it. Mark A and when you think of Ed Tommo Harley and Brown possibly it's a very good haul which should enable a more expansive game plan greater speed and pressure to get us back in the Finals race again.
  4. Sorry Rusty my comment was meant to be to Wiseblood I think who said there were very few mids in the draft That's not so because I reckon about 50% were mids so that's why I stated that it wasn't the draft I watched last night FWIW I think the Dees have done very well with 2 X factor draftees plus our trade gets and the PSD plus Harley and maybe Brown will give us a lot of depth and new talent to develop quickly. Also can't wait for all our injured 2019 players plus the 2018 draft young uns to return and develop. very bullish about our forward line possibilities now. Plus Weid Oscar Spargo who have all developed bodies to play hard and tough footy at the top .
  5. Exchange 28 and future 3rd rounder for 23 and future 4th rounder.
  6. Both Luke and Kozzie plus Harley will all be fan favourites. in love with LJ and Kozzie already so much C factor
  7. Was Jackson slow? No so pace for his size is almost unique and his awareness team play and ability all was super quick. Oh and Kozzie Pickett isn't half speedy either. X factor selections with highlight reels and I reckon both will have some games in 2020. Well done JT and team. Exciting year ahead with such promise Hope we get Sharp or Robertson at 28.
  8. Maybe Spargo is your answer and u can't see it at 28 or 31 after bids not fast enough not physical enough not enough goal sense No X factor We could recruit 3 Spargos and not hit the jackpot This is the money shotat 10/11 or whatever snd I think our small man forward barren results snd slow development ate worth the risk of a diamond. Go Forth JT X factor Kozzie welcome to the Dees!! If nothing else Jackson Kozzie and Harley should now be the "Entertainers". Long May they live (decade at least ) !!! Having said Charlie (Spargo) is not up to it yet I am bullish about 2020 for him. put on poundage bulk and is stronger in the body and could have even gained pace! Year of surprises Weid Charlie Pruess Picks 3 and 11 plus Harley and Oscar Yes Oscar more bulk etc are all ready to blossom as are the 2017 draftees. Depth is not a dirty word !!!
  9. Absolutely Like the Aussie voters we are now gunshy as we enter the room to cast our vote in the ballot box. JT and his team won't do that unless all we have been hearing is smoke and mirrors! I like our continued boldness from left field re Bennell and also this years draft. Those 3 players have the potential to change our attack and X factor our team to another level even past 2018 ultimately. we need this excitement and game changers to change our very much predictable style. Bring on 2020 for a fitter faster and exciting new team style with plenty of run snd carry and with the tools to finish off our good work from up the field.
  10. Sokol from WA would be handy forward to add to Jackson Kozzie and Bennell snd perhaps Brown.
  11. AF my preference at 3 is Jackson/Green and No 10 any of the mids left or Kent OR Kozzie or Weightman. Realize have given multiple choices but that is how I believe the draft will go. Lets celebrate the new young Demons (inc no 28) after it all as they start a career to contribute and be a part of what we all hope ends our 55 year flag drought being broken in 2020 or very soon after!!
  12. Spargo Chandler And Bedford are really only comparable. This small forward Ie Pickett is smaller faster cleverer and X factorer better. We need to take the risk. My question why not Young Stephens or Green at pick 3. (Of course Jackson has X factor himself and that explains the risk/reward factor I guess)
  13. The big choice of 10 and 3 pick. If true and so don't believe it is not then we will be fabulously entertained Ruth X factor football and feats and skill of another level. A half decade of Jackson and Pickett will have these 2 just as loved as Gawny and Clarry/Jonesy/JackV. Oh and we may even have Harley to come on top of that So much excitement in one match. Beter make sure we win our share to make it all worthwhile!!
  14. Sorry AF I suspect you are being very selective. If you consider ball use as overrated then Melbourne would put together a greater number of cohesive efforts with the ball if our skill at this part of the game was higher. Its common to all Dees fans of our average disposal and cohesion (especially last year). Using the negative view about Young's skills snd downgrading ball use is convenient to not want him as a top 10 Draft choice. Of course it's not everything but Hawthorn won a trio of flags with exquisite disposal and top sides invariably contain elite ball users. Melbourne need a young talent like Young and just as much a small forward such as Weightman Henry or Pickett. Also a key forward which it seems Jackson is the man Also happens to ruck a bit too. Mist of the young top15 are very skilled of course no players is complete but one skill does not mean the player should be overlooked if they are elite in it snd gsvr other strings to their bows. BTW who would you choose for our first 2 picks and why?
  15. One skill that I believe you are underestimating about Weightman PD is his goal sense. Boy do we need a smaller type busy bee and in oppo face which I believe is Cody's mantra. Henry is best but Cody 2nd if we are to balance out team on forward skill. Pickett might have more tricks and he is ferocious as well but may not be there at 28. Also do we want both? That is assuming that we don't do any more pick splitting. Happy for Jackson or Young at 3 and Weightman 10 and Pickett / best Key Position player left at 28. 97 or about 70 may be a surprise VFL or SANFL or left field type Like a AVB.. Thats a fair haul if you then add Harley and Brown Maybe Sokol from WAFL and on top of Langdon and Tomlinson. "New recruits" like AVB Neitschke Joel Smith And Hannan And KK Lever And May even Melksham Tom Mac and Jetta all fit and firing would make an unbelievable difference to skill confidence and ability to see out games and follow a decent game plan that must be implemented for success. Coaching snd Fitness seems to be going to a new level. Am intrigued by Alan Richo's role. Under wraps and bit like Brendan Mac over the board. And not a Basket Case in sight I might add!!
  16. Sorry Cheesy Often (OFTEN) flies for marks in or at the back of s pack making about 6 players after the same ball. We know the result is an opponent takes it and creates a goal etc. Nev does not make a lot of mistakes and is good overall but needs to resist flying unnecessarily on the backline and let taller players take this role. He wil then be the AA player we love picking up some crumbs and clearing for handballing etc to clear.
  17. No let's not revisit Joel Smith on the two Gunn forwards ! (Prelim Final) that's asking too much. Darling as now the No 1 needs May and Kennedy who has probably slipped a little with Oscar, or Petty or Brown. Smith the third tall but really we need to try him up forward . We need our most creative players up forward when resting eg Harmes Gus Trac Viney And Clarry, Also Vanders And Smith.
  18. Both about a few kilos fitter than last season Big big year for Trac and back to 2018 year for Hibbo.
  19. Could be a bit like Cam Pedersen and also can go back in defence. Handy depth who will give his all if we take him as a rookie.0
  20. GC need to keep looking at AFL and MFC websites Don't miss out on much also Demonlander is good most of the time!!
  21. I don't think Minh supporters really understand the effect that s class small forward would have in out forward line. Too Many excuses about ability etc but happy to draft another mid fielder (Young is not technically a mid) Our whole footy would get more pace excitement and versatility as a result No more stock standard players for the opposition and even Jackson has an X factor fir a big guy which defences hate. Time for some more risks along with Harley to break he mould and have the others worry about our excitement machines!!!
