WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
Can’t help thinking we may be underestimating Pup Brown. Wonder what the track watchers are seeing in his development plus his maturing as a realistic winger, midfielder or say a HFF getting a ton on the ball even maybe, I guess why I am excited about Kynan is his physical appearance has strengthened plus his pace evasiveness and very importantly his determination to play footy at the elite level like his dad. I hope the Club give him the opportunity to succeed in our system. Any comments from Demon track watchers or other D/Lers on Kynans potential for 2025 or am I jumping the gun with liking his potential? Thanks all.

They are all equal after the draft. Langford and George are still MFC players and eligible for selection if fit. Don’t mind you asking the question though.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 11 December 2024
Good summary CHF yes a good year with a possible late Finals run. We often surprise after poorer year and the reasons for thst make the opportunity for the kids and high standard regulars get back their mojo. Could be like 2021 if the team bonds and plays more aggressive footy.

RPFC really Howes had a very good first half last year and dropped off but got back into senior side near end. One of the players I think will improve and possibly grab a HB flank. Adams is at least a year younger. And this season is his opportunity to shine. Needs a good start and one of the defenders to take him under his wing.

TheDuke should be our centre man and not on the ball but in the centre at bounces or if he changes it should be on the HFF and then go back into that position in the spine where we can more safely own the corridor. seriously he will kick 20 goals next season and be a ball magnet in the middle. In time yes he would change on some occasions with an on baller but not so much in his first season. He will have the tank as he is a natural runner. Bowey or Lindsay could go on a wing and of course Lingers has his Warne Stand side all sorted.

MEMBERSHIP TALLY 2025
What shape are we in at this stage George? Are that’s figures purely automatic renewals or is there some reasonable/ good growth potential in them. I think we may start slowly but have good vibes if we start strongly with wins and play far more positive footy especially our new young stars it will get the fans back. Thats what I am hoping at least.

Chad Warner
Just as well John you won’t be negotiating any Demon players futures in the next years judging in your Petracca comments. Trac could play till 35/36 as he is so fit and strong he could do a lethal (Matthew’s) and play up forward for his last 2/3 years getting 40/50 plus goals a year, which would require a Club at least a pick 1 plus a 2 rounder or a future high draft pick to be recruited.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 11 December 2024
As I have posted numerous times I believe the Duke should be moved to the centre where he will have maximum effect on our footy in aggression and using the centre corridor. He reminds me of Chad Warner the way he plays and I believe if at centre he could easily kick 15/20 goals next season. He would put the fear of all opponents from the circle and be more in play than on a flank of ring. I applaud Jim being tried on HBF hopefully only for defensive training and are hoping Goody reads us or one of the D/L ers suggests nicely to try him there in a practice game. It’s no brainer to me and I like it that Bowser may play on a wing also. Lindsay is another centre or winger of the future or early on in his career.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 11 December 2024
The very fact that injuries and kids have been the cards we had to deal with last year are the same reason that I am so bullish about 2025. After a tumultuous end of 2024 and pre off season with so much happening the “crisis” we had to have ( largely create d by journalistic sections of the AFL press, HeraldSun and Channel9 Footy Classified) the Club has emerged in a very fortuitous position. Finishing 14th ( about a win and 2% away from 10th) has enabled a draft pick position of 5 plus a creative prior pick for no. 9 has gifted 2 elite young ball getters with style and skills for the big time to blend with the older refreshed champs and solid good supports plus a dozen 19 to 23 year old very promising youngsters all in early stages of the years of their AFL careers help the blend to my eye that is captivating and hopefully we now play a brand of footy that inspires this combination to scale the dizzy Flag heights of the 2021 heroes with fast fearless and brave standards to match. Off field changes in personnel in Board and Coaching, settlement of club matters, and the promise of a new Committee approach with new life and direction are enticing for our future. Recent Progress in our Training and Administration development also has put a spring into Club steps after a long period of possibilities being dust binned for various reasons. While results ultimately determine progress and success the ground work now being laid is a great response in 3 months lead by interim President Brad Green and the existing Board. There is no doubt some AFL experts and even some of our own fans are writing us off the Top 4 and Premiership contenders list when you analyse seriously there is no reason believe our window has ended. Fortune with injuries and a very comfortable looking fixture will play a part if our dreams are to be realised. I get the feeling we are all reunited and that all feel that there is a great opportunity yo bounce back while we have an exciting and new list of unknown potential. Youth in the early 50’s led our revival and I can’t wait for 2025 to test our tyros and hardened elders in the season upcoming. Check the current odds we are now at and if you are a betting person place a lazy $50 or $100 strategically on some success next year. Good Luck and Go Dees.

Welcome back to Demonland: Tayla Harris
You don’t appreciate her ability to have a large effect on the game with her physical strength and marking. And she demands the first defender so that makes the other forwards roles a lot easier. If she plays at CHB look out for a stellar season. Her record of a goal a game is a worthwhile achievement in her 50 plus games. Start looking at team results not just her only as she rucks also.

WERRIDEE’S Rolling Squads
I agree with Windsor not at half back in fact centre should be his spot. If Goody prioritises half back vs wing or centre for Duke then he is again putting defence over attack and team attacking flair. Windsor on the centreline is a hoslkicker and pressure player on the opposition defence he is so good. He will kick 15/20 goals from the centre in 2025 if given the chance and truly make a huge difference to our attacking flair. Half back no Judd can do that and also Dalo and Bowser or AMW or Howes. Look at those options why waste Windsor at HB. I also believe Jeffo will be in our 23 by about Round 3/4 and Tmac might slso be. Thay would be improvements as well as Sharp over Sparrow in our team. His extra pace and forward play will also lift our team in 2025 from that one pace to fast with Windsor Sharp Kossie and Lindsay all contributing to a faster more aggressive game plan. These changes may take a few rounds but form will dictate that in time as the cream will rise to the top. Then our depth will be also strengthened accordingly.

Farewell Judd McVee
Surely we are talking only about Nick Daicos levels not the ordinary AFL ones which Juddy is a little above but not that much.

Eliza West and Maddi Gay
What a lot of rot that Eliza “didn’t fit into our fot structure “ ( whatever that is ). She didn’t have a great 2023 admittedly but a 2024 Eliza would fit into any team and improve it to Top4 standard, especially if Purcell was injured. She gets hard balls no other player can and was a great contributor in 2022 yo our Flag. I get the sentiment Libby had a poor 2023 also and was part of what I believe may have been a team upset around Finals time ( pure suspicion by the way) as they played 2 very ordinary games vs Lions at Springfield in Round 10 ( was there) and Qual Final vs Roos at Ikon in a row plus 3/4 of a game vs Cats in Semi. Very unlike that team and from then no one was singing Libby’s praises on the contrary. Then the girls started to all want to leave “with different reasons“and it took until Mick changed our game plan we really got back our mojo and team spirit. Now our new girls and some this year are the start of a new era and potential Top4 team to challenge the other Big 3,who are as influential was ever. I think we need to recruit size and pace to match the new girls on the block the Hawks who as I see it will be Kangas new challengers with their height and running game. Over to the “JT ladies team “ to get those good picks to develop our team from the 2022 to 2025 premiership model.

Eliza West and Maddi Gay
Sorry Eliza was improved with the Hawks but she is not that similar to Purcell. She is much more physical and tougher and was sorely missed and if we had had her even with the injuries we would have made the Finals and possibly a Flag chance. Purcell is a very good player but is more polished than Eliza with skills far more finished. Between the two we missed Eliza although she gid not have a great season last year. I think we need another class mid to add depth and variety to our on the ball division. Here’s hoping we can recruit a mid this draft coming up.
