IN Bowey JVR and Disco with Petty up forward. OUT Hibbo and BBB ANB most likely. Haven't learnt much from 2022 Werridee.
  2. But MFC are catering for local Casey fans primarily because we play at CFields.school is closed at 3 pm or after. Hardly any one really is going to go from Braybrook say to Casey to see the Cup. You can if you want to of course but it's not the target fan that is being catered for at Bunjil.
  3. Your second question IMO is now irrelevant as we selected Jed Adams at 38. If we/he had any doubts about WA recruits that decision is obviously NO. Didn't we as a Club also sort of push Jesse out by agreeing to him going in a way that we were fed up with the conjecture and uncertainty when he was playing along with injuries etc. ? Both times we have traded brilliantly with replacements with Steven May and now Brodie Grundy. Still have the Ist snd 2nd rounders for next year.
  4. Sorry MO got it wrong . Yes GWS have Cadman. I must admit I have looked at the highlights of Jeffer snd believe he looked as if he can get kicks in different forward positions snd Hope by they time our forward game plan is much more organised. Can't believe Stafford has not been replaced. JVR might straighten us up also.
  5. Sorry Birrarung Mar is nothing to do with Bunjil Place in the City of Casey as far as I know! The event lasts for say 90 min or 2 hours (I imagine )you don't have to be there at 4pm pronto. You get in line to have your photo taken with the Cup. ( Didn't you get your photo with the AFL Men's Cup in 2021 at the Museum at the MCG. ?)
  6. 4pm Start After School which finishes at around 3pm or by 4pm. !!!
  7. Another factor of the Tmac injury. Height weight and strength and footy smarts missing with Tommy out!
  8. Well that's not what he's recruited for thankfully! Check his highlight reel and high marking is his forte and he has great hands also. JT gets the good oil !!
  9. It's now not the primary reason THBT. You have missed the philosophical financial and cultural reasons for this much loved game and FTA status pi's a home game replacement for us members. Look at the support after last years game snd the kids meeting their heroes and this is growing as the Club keeps on winning also. It's a win win win game for all so let it survive the churliness and misunderstanding about this fixture you have surmounted.
  10. Jeffer has already gone from 76 to 84 kg now and is 195/6 cm. May be Behind Cadman now but I don't think there will be much between the two when both are another pre season. Both have enough natural ability to develop and use their skills early in their careers and Jeffer will be playing with some classy other forwards snd Cad's mates at Notth aren't too shabby. MJ should get more opportunities when he breaks into the AFL team due to our superior mids and team stats. Meanwhile this MJ hype is allowing JVR to start to build up nicely and quietly without any pressure yet. L

Agree entirely OD Mainly forthe sport definitely NOT the politics!!!
  12. It would be strange if MOST of the above players did not develop further. Some are already fair/ good AFL players but need to improve and others are in 2nd or third seasons where the pre season is exciting seeing bulked up and fitter bodies more ready to use their undoubted skills. Bring it on. Out if the above Bowey Rivers Sparrow Chandler JJ JVR Turner and Taj appeal as improvers to AFL debut or standards. Other is a real smoky is AMW who has added bulk etc to his rare skill and no limit on his career should be placed on his shoulders. That's whatt we pay Choco etc. the big bucks for!!
  13. There is no harm on Jeffer developing ahead of Schedule. BTW this Casey Team might just be worth getting a bet on B to B if possible.

Great that Oscar is recruited by the Dogs after an unlucky run at the Dees. He just couldn't overcome his speed attribute with polished disposal and average decision making. Doubt if both Mitch Hannan and Oscar will make the opening round at the G. Only one possibly! Having said that we probably will have only ONE Lachie H who IMO providing he keeps fit and out of trouble is a shoe in.That's what he was signed up for the other wing ( or centre) would be ok also. The doubters are off mark and he is as sure as Brodie in that Round 1 team passing skilfully to JVR and Co. The Shache may have to wait for injury or form lapses but you never know he could well be a surprise.

Carlton's AFLW player loss after the last 4/5 seasons is almost the "GWS" figure in the AFL. And The Coach keeps on surviving with under achieving results. (Even commentates on Fox on his spare days off!!) which is his prerogative. Very complementary about Dees after the GF and during the game. Nice to see after all the Lions hype ( such HOT favourites) in Melb and up here (Qld) when in reality we were their equal ( minus 1 point) over the H and A season snd even the two Finals played prior to. Great atmosphere at Springfield GF Day and very pleasant Lions crowd as well. What a bloodbath it would have been if Pies or Tigers had been our opponent anywhere!
  16. It is Goody that likes the inside bulls and IMO JT is carrying out that wish and the fact that most mids are contested beasts snd not outside speedsters.

And ball hasn't been kicked in frothy anger yet!!!

Smacks of delaying action to me. Get your floral arrangement started ASAP
  19. Fritta says hi! And a Ridiculous comment. in football it takes all different sizes and skills to be successful. Some have brawn snd physical presence a la Tommy Hawkins. Others have quick movement great athleticism like Jeremy Cameron. Tom Lynch is a great mark has height and is a great lead. Tmac uses his body and provides a role for marking and assisting his smaller teammates.kick goals. Lastly Fritta is a medium who has exsquisite skills and X factor ball attack both in the air or on the ground. I say MJ has some Fritta skills is the best mark due to his hands and great skill in picking up flight of the ball and has the ability to get goals in different ways. This will happen either ways whether he is a KPF or second or third forward as he is a good footballer in with some other class goal kickers.
  20. I have no doubt he will be handled with kid gloves but maybe a half forward flank role might suit if he has the mobility and pace to create chances in the early days on the third tall after moving around the forward line. Any chance of fast forwarding MJ differently to JVR who really seems a KPF in style and physique and movement. Was Petty sighted ? Cheers snd thanks.
  21. Well it did mention midfield and that seems more urgent with forward connection than half back of which we have Bowey and Salem and Ticers who all had poorer seasons in 2022 than 2021 largely due to injury returning too soon and ongoing fitness and Bowser eho should have come back in in Rounds 20 on when he rediscovered his form.
  22. But their hearts were beating true and their Demon Spirit alive and well and that grit enabled us to out tough the Lions. Great win Dees Premiers AFLW S7

Most are complaining about the announcement "colliding with" the Socceroos!! Really in fact the AFL had arranged the Round1 announcement clearly before the FIFA game occurred and is committed to two further dates this week to complete up to Round15 by Thursday. What did the complainants do while the soccer game was on? Presumably most were at home watching somewhere and had access to a phone or newspaper with a casual glance sufficient at first and in-depth read after the game. If fans can't separate 2 items in their life like earlier today I hate to visualise the mess their diaries are in. For the record we play Western Bulldogs on SAT 18 March 2023 at the MCG a Home Game at 7.25pm. Now all of us can go back to our tapes of Tracey Grimshaw's last show oh No I just realised I taped over it with the last race from Dapto Dogs on that night. Life is just so complicated with all these modern devices like recorders and iPhones!! No wonder they say we men can't do 2 things at once!!! Just get there in Round1 folks when we spoil Bevo's extended contract news and enable Hunter and Schache and Brodie to play freely in their first games for their new Club. Wonder if their recycled No3 ( Cody W ) is still ducking his head?
  24. Your just guessing FTB might be correct you have about a 33.3% chance as 6 out of 18 Clubs we play twice. Care to predict some other morsels for us during 2023?

While I don't agree that the kick to the forward pocket plan worked like you say it was how it got there in 2022 snd who was there that determines the result most often. Didn't help us win those 8 matches after Round 10 this season. When Harry Petty was moved belatedly for 10 mins vs Lions he played at FF not the pocket. We would have won that game if Goody had moved him at 3/4 time I believe. And in choosing correctly our 2021 and 2022 teams over any others ie 1994 snd 2000 it was not the forwards fault but the fact was we had an inferior defence which when the two or 3 top sides played us could punch holes through it. From 2020 onwards our defence has been the first ( not only reasons) and major reason that we have contended and won the Flag and in '20 improved our football. We need to come up with a better plan in 2023 even though I believe we will have some better and more skilled players down forward to convert successfully. And Harry Petty still might be needed to be switched early in 2023 for us to catch the Cats this year.
