Jordon hasn't improved at all since going to Sydney, he's simply getting a game where at Melbourne he wasn't (consistently) Jordon is no superstar but has all the things Sparrow lacks like footy IQ and decision making. Goody prioritising Sparrow over Jordon was always a really bad sign for me and made it pretty clear Goodwin was a bad judge who valued power and size over being a good footballer

Maybe I'm in the minority but guys like Hunter, Billings, Sharp were worth the punt when you consider how little we pay/paid for them, maybe errors in hindsight but if all you're risking is a 3rd or 4th rounder in a trade then sobeit McAdam & Grundy were major errors, not sure how we ended up paying a 2nd rounder for McAdam but whatever. I reckon Henderson his SSP replacement is actually a player so maybe there's a silver lining. Campbell & Dunstan were fine as depth options we got for free. Not being in the market for Chol or Massimo d'Ambrosio recently was something I never really understood. Chol is far from perfect but would have been handy at least for the medium term. MDA would have been perfect but I acknowledge he didn't really have many clubs beyond Hawthorn keen on him. Jason Taylor has carried us these last few years. Lindsay, Langford, Windsor, Tholstrup should all be long term players - whether Kolt was worth trading up for is debatable at this point but he should be handy at worst. It might sound weird but our biggest issue has been not taking 2nd/3rd round picks to the draft most years so we could refresh the list a bit more aggressively and grab a more mixed group of players. Again you can't have it both ways though as you'd probably miss out on Lindsay last year if we took this approach.

Our biggest issue has been not being able to attract any solid free agents during the 2021-2023 seasons, not necessarily stars but solid best 22 players to fill in the gaps. Given we haven't been able to do that, packaging up picks every year has hurt our depth.
