Cody Weightman (Drafted by Western Bulldogs)
He isn't in the top 10 players in this draft. That doesn't mean we won't take him, but I'd be surprised if we did. Then again, I've been surprised before.
-
Liam Henry (Drafted by Fremantle)
Henry will be a star; Weightman might be similar to Jack Higgins. Henry is a top 10 pick; Weightman probably between 14-20.
-
Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
I could understand passing him up at 3 (although I'd be happy to get him there) but if he is still there at 8 and we don't take him I believe we'll regret it.
- Poll: Who do you want with our first two picks?

Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
I think pre- injury he was a definite top 3 or 4. I'd still take him at 3 although it's possible he'll slip as far as 9. He won't be outside the top 10. He's too good not to take and he's worth waiting 12 months for.

2019 Player Reviews: #11 Max Gawn
A superstar of the competition and we have had precious few of them over the last 50 years.
-
Jack Newnes
Sounds as though Richardson lost a bit of faith in him. Doesn't bode well for a chance at Melbourne.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
I think he's a bit like Tom McDonald. An elite runner, not likely to kick as many goals as Tom but a competent KP player who needs some freedom through the middle. Many of TMac's really good games were when he started on the wing and drifted forward. I think Tomlinson can be similar - maybe more effective back than forward. What he will do is present as an option down the line. This season other than Gawn, we had nobody do that consistently. I've watched him for a few seasons and while he's no star, I believe he will make us a better side.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
He's a solid citizen who's played in three preliminary finals and a GF in the last 4 years and was the Giants best player (and arguably best afield) in the 2017 prelim. He'll be good for the Demons.

Phantom Drafts
Serong, Young or Brodie Kemp. All will be very good players.

Ladder Since 2012
Yeah but not 2012 onwards. They are top of the ladder from 2012 to 2019 and haven't done better than 3rd after finals.2011 was the remnants of the Thompson era anyway.

Ladder Since 2012
Geelong on top but zero flags to show for it. How Chris Scott has not managed to win a flag with some of the teams he's had ....

Farewell Sam Frost
He cost us an early second rounder, I'd say we'd get a second rounder back. He's a better player now than when we acquired him.

Keith “Bluey” Truscott Trophy 2019
Other than Gawn not being the outright winner, and Viney being third instead of 5th or 6th it pretty much sums up the season. I struggle to see how everyone in the AFL world from opposition coaches and supporters, fans, the umpires and journalists all had Gawn as clearly our best player, but the match committee thought Oliver was our best player until round 23 when Gawn drew level. Probably says a bit about their collective wisdom. As for Jack, I'm not surprised he made top 5 but I felt Harmes had a better year. Well done to Max, an absolute champion of the game and our 2020 Captain. Well done to Clarry also, but I hope he doesn't interpret the result as an endorsement of his season. He has a lot of work to do on his game to be the player he is capable of becoming.

THE MYSTERY OF DRAFT PICK 3?
Brodie Kemp or Hayden Young.
-
Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
I think he's in the top 3-4 players in this draft. I'd take him and be patient. If not him, then Young.

Trengove delisted
Always thought this bloke would make a great coach. His best footy moments might still be ahead of him.
-
B&F Subjectivity
I doubt that. Laurie Fowler was a multiple winner.
-
B&F Subjectivity
I was staggered in 2016 when Gawn finished 3rd after a dominant AA year. Somehow Viney won the award that year. Rob Flower won our B&F once and we were absolutely horrible for pretty much all of his career. I'd not be in the least surprised to see some "strange" results this year as well.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
Two years ago Tomlinson was just about best on ground in the preliminary final against Richmond. He can play and play very well. He will make our team better and fits easily into our best 22.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
I think it'll be 2 (or 3) for 11 and 13 plus Adam Tomlinson with some later round picks also involved. I've heard it a couple of times now.

Max Gawn's season
I think he'll be best on V Sydney round 4, Collingwood QB, Adelaide and then North in the last round. You are right though, He won't win it but he'll do well.

Max Gawn's season
Bump. I still think he'll poll very well in the Brownlow. AFL Brownlow Predictor has him on 23, tied with Grundy. His biggest problem will be that winning sides usually get the 3's. In his best games he has been totally dominant though. I reckon he'll get 4 best ons and a few 2's and 1's. He'll certainly be very close to last years tally of 20. A great effort again by the champ! Also, it was very decent of Grundy to acknowledge Gawn's effort on QB when asked who had won the head to head for the year - "You don't forget 34 possessions". I think these 2 are both stars and have a healthy respect for each other.

Max Gawn 3 x All Australian
What a great achievement for a guy who played in a team that only won 5 games. Only 4 players (Walters, Fyfe, Cripps and Gawn) from the non- finalists. Max is a genuine superstar!

Levi Casboult
I rate this guy. He's one of the best "down the line" marks in the comp. Other than Gawn, since we lost Hogan we don't have anyone else who does this role. I'd certainly look at it.
