Farewell Jesse Hogan
Brad Hill left hawthorn to go home to WA, why would he come back to Melbourne?? we can't just take any player we like, only originally from VIC pose realistic options i.e. brayshaw or cerra

Farewell Jesse Hogan
If this happened i would be utterly dismayed. Hogan is Younger, more talented and a forward - more valuable on so many levels. I want pick 5 AND pick 6 or another really good player (cerra, brayshaw). I have a feeling freo may try to offer us pick 5 and 2019 first rounder, im not sure how i feel about that... i would probably want the dees to play hard ball and get pick 6 or a good player as well. Adelaide played hard ball with lever and we payed overs in the end.. Time for the dees to do the same

Viney should not be on that list.

If we do this we could then package it up, and get pick 1 from carlton, Sam Walsh is the best player in a super draft, and is from Vic.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
No one wants Hogan out, but if the writings on the wall that he will be gone at the end of 2019 we may as well get a better deal now. AND, With Preuss and Gawn we can play two ruckman if one of TMAC or Weed goes down

With Shiel leaving, GWS wont be squeezed for money. It would be hard to pry whitfeild out before free-agency.

Hogan is worth more than Lever, He is 23 and was on track for 60 goals this year if he played every game. Not to mention he pushed into the midfield and regularly collected 20-25 touches, he's a generational player. Lever is good, but Hogan is something else. We should get much more than pick 7

Rumour File
Is this a rumour thread or a thread for posting trades we want?
-
Rumour File
Not really the definition of a rumour but whatever, i would take a second round pick

in return for?

To be fair, Majority of our best players are sub 24, except for Gawn, Tmac, Neville. We will hit our peak in 2-3 years time and be up for a further 3, possibly longer. We can bring in young talent, and mature talent. A young jet/high draft pick + May is ideal

Very disappointing, but a good club makes bad situations work. I would love to have another Brayshaw, but i think Cerra is a better fit for our team. Elite skill and decision making, more silk than grunt. He could take over lewis's position in the backline until a spot opens up in the midfield. If we can get picks 5 or 6 or Cerra or brayshaw, and May, we are doing very well. Plus without Hogan, we have more cap room to chase kelly at the end of next year.

Andrew Gaff
It will be a bit of deja vu if Gaff goes to North to play inside and ends up as a permanent winger. Howe claimed that he wanted to go to collingwood because they were prepared to play him as a permanent forward, allowing for him to develop some stability and consistency in his game. Next Minute, Howe hasn't played forward for collingwood in 3 years...

Jayden Hunt
I would love to see him get extremely fit over the next two preseasons, and transition to a wing role. He is hard, and could definitely add some more tackling pressure to our already fierce midfield. I think hunt is a long term prospect, and might not hit his straps for a couple of years. Best case scenario, in my mind, is he becomes an Isaak Smith type winger, slightly worse skills, but much harder at the footy. With all our bulls in the midfield he will get plenty of ball fed to him on the outside and we can see him do a lot of damage. Kicking inside 50 and fitness will be the areas that can take him to AA squad level.

See Mitch Mcgovern in an Adelaide uniform next year? He signed this year. Didnt Schache sign with the lions last year? I don't make the rules but contracts are not in concrete

Mate, obviously freo want to keep Cerra, and they have convinced him to stay. But just because they want him, doesn't mean they wouldn't trade him for the right deal. And Cerra is clearly happy at Freo, but that doesn't he would love to play in melbourne with his friends and family for a top 8 side. I repeat Cerra is ELIGIBLE to be traded like every AFL player.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
This thread is about a Jesse Hogan trade, why did you think i mentioned Cerra's name? For a trade with Thomas Bugg? Seriously, you have no idea if you think Freo wouldn't be willing to give up a 19y.o from melbourne and more for Hogan.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
If melbourne offered cerra for hogan i would bet my left nut they would accept it. they signed because hes a good young player, doesn't mean they wouldnt trade him for a good deal.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
So you are saying because a player has signed a contract, in no circumstances can that player end up at another club via a trade?
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
When did i ever say he would traded if he or the club objected? Fremantle would probably be happy to involve cerra in a trade for hogan and cerra would probably be happy to return to melbourne and play for a club in the 8. What don't you get about that?
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Why not? Not saying he will be. But 100% as eligible for a trade as any other fremantle player. Also young and from melbourne, so im sure he wouldn't object.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Hogan is also contracted, its a trade so it would be irrelevant
-
Jayden Hunt
Goodwin has said multiple times this year that Hunt had a poor preseason, and interpreting the tone of his voice, needs hunt to develop a more professional work ethic
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
If hogan were to be traded i would prefer Brayshaw and Cerra (both top 5 picks), rather than 18year olds, as we are pushing for a flag now, so at least there development has started.

Tigers are poised to win back to back premierships, and then challenge for a 3rd. The first 2 premierships have been off the back of frantic pressure and speed. This has been achieved by having a small line up in the forward line. Hardwick and the tigers have agreed to get one of the best tall forwards in the game, in exchange for NOTHING. Its a no brainier for them, they might lose conca to salary cap, but that it. Surely, you must recognise that there game plan has worked because of their fast chasing players. NOW, going back to back to back is nearly impossible, and changing tactics over that period is a good thing, as teams begin to plan for your game-style. So for the tigers, switching up their structure after 2 flags, is probably a smart move. Whether it works is yet to be seen. BUT they gave nothing up to get Lynch, rather than hardwick being desperate for another tall forward.
