Weid has no mongrel. Zero.
I wouldnt actually say zero but what happened to the mantra of recruits having to be aggressive contested ball players.

Barely. If you consider talls the only one is Harrison Petty.
(For another time but are we any good at drafting talls?)

He is paid to do a job and is not performing that job to anything like the level that would be expected.
I totally agree with this statement but remember it is our expectations that he has not lived up to. Weid didnt ask to be picked in the top 10. Our expectations and the clubs initial assessment are clearly wrong. For someone who has been in the system for so long I cannot comprehend how easily he is pushed off the ball.

For better or worse loyalty is not a thing to the kids coming through these days. They grow up watching NBA & NFL where players, the champions too, regularly change sides.
I suppose when Ron went to Carlton he wasnt actually a kid.

I assume you mean Weidermann, because Macdonald is still injured and Browns not playing.
At least you can spell Brown. Should I be satisfied with that?

OOOhhhh yes it was...
I will repeat this :
I went to a pre season game and purchased a pie just before that start. By the time I finished eating the pie I came to the correct conclusion that the season was already over.

All forms of possession require the use of an apostrophe, whether singular or plural.
However, if the word ends in the letter "s", whether singular or plural, just use the apostrophe.
Only living things can have possession.
For example, the legs of a table ... the table's legs WRONG! Not a living thing.
For another example, leaves on a tree ... the tree's leaves CORRECT! It is a living thing.
It is easier with people. For example: John's footy is muddy. (Good). Amos' hot meat pie. (Good) Amos's hot meat pie. (Wrong)
Only living things have possession..? What about my late fathers estate? He aint living but has possessions.
And if a table is made out of a tree why not possess legs.
I have a feeling that this post may lead to weighing ducks and witches

I think it will go Oliver and Petty for Bedford and Melksham, the obvious selections. But what I meant to write, before the inexplicable post above was this:
In: Oliver, Petty,
Out: Bedford, Fritsch
My reasoning is that
1) I think Melksham brought a level of intensity and effort that we've been lacking (except for the Vineys) and coming into finals that should be rewarded. Leaving him in sets that example.
2) Constrastly, Fritsch isn't hitting scoreboards but not doing those things. The swap for Weid (probably one week only) is part of that example setting above.
3) Bedford is underperforming so is the easy out.
But this only works if the coaches are willing to throw Petty forward, so I think unlikely.
If Fritta isnt hitting the scoreboard then no one else is. Scored a goal every game and currently sitting on 34

With the possibility of Naughton and Bruce both being available, I hope all of May, Petty and lever are available. I though Tomlinson was wonderful today, but his lack of height will be highlighted against the dogs, especially with English now learning how to float forward. The only option is to perhaps play Petty forward and leave Tomlinson down back. risky though.
OUT: Bedford, Melksham
IN: Oliver, Chandler.
Fritsch needs an old fashioned spray from the coach for his moments of utter selfishness.
Sparrow is really frustrating me but probably shouldn't be dropped. Can you teach decision making?
R u serious?
You are worried about the height of English so you want to move our tallest defend e r forward?

It sounds like Noble was like Neeld where he gave some honest & probably well deserved at times brutal feedback & the players didn't like it.
So the players run to the administration.
It's like the Australian cricket team basically forcing Langer out. These days people just can't handle getting a spray.
It seems players run the club's now.
So forget Clarkson with these young players then or even Ross Lyon because they expect a lot & give some honest feedback.
I don't think there is anything new here.
Norm used to give Hassa a spray, not because he had been playing poorly, but because his team mates were, and they couldnt take the message directly. It is all about people management.
I am not sure a coach needs to be liked, but they do need to be respected.

Country Zoning
in Melbourne Demons
Posted
I always thought that St Kilda got absolutely dudded by zoning in that some of their big names in 66 came from what was now Hawthorn territory.
I think the argument that it is up to the club to nurture players has some merit, but it cannot be denied that the club had much more success when the draft came in place of zones.
Leon Baker I think came from our zone and played in the 84 premiership for Essendon but from memory the Dons picked him up playing in Darwin. So I dont think too many from our country zone got away.
